DO THE TOUR!!!! You'll be disappointed if you don't! An absolute superb experience! Don't be put off by the current location - the story of Whitby Distillery from their humble beginnings to the future is breathtaking! Its hard to take in and believe the process, volumes made on-premise, the flavours created, the design work put in to create the bottles and labels, it is without doubt one of the best tours I've ever experienced! Oh and the gin, rum and vodka sampling made it more difficult to choose what to buy from the shop afterwards! Although the discounted offers helped :)

Whitby Distillery Tour Highly Recommended Had the distillery tour on the 22/11/25 with 10 friends as part of our annual ex rugby players weekend away to the East Coast. The tour was excellent and informative and great fun, very well presented and opportunity to taste the gin, rum and ask lots of questions. The move to the next premises near the Abbey in the near future will take this tour to another level. A very well thought our tour and business, top class.

A fantastic tour The guide was excellent, lots of interesting information about how the distillery was created, it’s vision, and plans. The enthusiasm for the product, the method of production and the quality of the products shone through. Explaining the use of botanicals, how they were used and the way they were harvested was very interesting. The use of local firms and the care for the environment was made so clear. The highlight was the tasting where you could taste the quality of the products and how it differed from other commercial gin, rum and vodka. A fabulous tour run by enthusiastic, committed people. We came away with one or two bottles! Will go again when the new premises are open.

I ordered a pair of the Whitby Distillery ammonite tumblers. They are well priced, arrived promptly and are of excellent quality. Super thick glass makes them weighty and satisfying to hold and sip from. A great product!

Birthday Tour The tour was booked for a party of 7 as part of my birthday celebrations. We all thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The welcome G&T was a nice touch and great for drinking whilst listening to the history of the Distillery, which was brilliantly explained.We were really spoilt for choice when it came to what bottle to buy at the end of the tour.

More than a Distillery tour! Excellent experience! You got to understand the passion and stories behind the gin and rum distillations. The drinks served and sampled were not only great but full of surprises for the taste buds! The guide was utterly professional, knowledgeable and the stories told were delivered with warmth and sentiment. The distillery is small but this gives the atmosphere of a local business not an anonymous corporation. There was a presentation on the future of the new distillery which will be closer to the abbey. With the owners and staffs' attention to quality and detail in everything they do , I can envisage an even better experience in the future. It is well worth a visit!

A wonderful time was had by all! This was a wonderful experience. Annie, our tour guide, greeted us with a lovely g&t garnished with rosemary and grapefruit in a beautiful glass she later wrapped for us to take home. She is a wonderful story teller, with such love and enthusiasm for the distillery and its creators, it was a pleasure to listen. Everyone was hanging on her every word, she has a gift. I could have listened to her all day. The samples were gratefully received and very nice they were too, particularly the Prince of Darkness. And amazing to hear the kegs were made of Transylvanian wood! Fascinating! Annie even made the history of the bottle design interesting and we left with beautiful candles made from repurposed bottles, and a couple of bottles of the good stuff. It would have been rude not to. A wonderful afternoon. Thank you Annie. You made our trip so very special. Have recommended to others. And it’s lovely to know this company puts back into the community.

The tour was excellent, very informative and the story as to how the distillery was developed was so interesting! Aswell as gin tasting we also tasted some rum! Bonus! The lovely glass we used which was engraved, was also ours to keep! A nice touch! Highly recommend if staying in Whitby or a 25 minute slow walk from the railway station x

Lovely trip Really lovely tour. Incredibly interesting to hear the personal story of how the company came about and to hear the importance of sustainability and community that are the values of this company. Lovely to have a nice gin and tonic on arrival and a good chance to taste the various offerings. Free glass was a nice touch too. Highly recommend.
