Great first impression of Iceland
Had an awesome Reykjavik food tour with Day! It was our first experience after landing in Iceland, and what a way to orient ourselves to the culture -- and push through the jet lag by keeping ourselves delightfully busy. The food was great and the stops took us on a tour of the city, conveniently ending at Hallgrimskirkja Church, which we visited right after the tour. Through it all, Day delivered an authentic and entertaining perspective on Iceland's food, culture, and history. I'd been a little frustrated because the company had changed our tour time but he more than made up for that with such an awesome tour.
Amazing Food Tour
My wife and I went on this tour on the last day of our trip to Iceland. It was absolutely incredible. Such a great way to end our trip. The food was amazing, and they do a good job of choosing different restaurants and dishes for you to try. Don't hate on the fish mash until you try it! It was probably my favorite. Our tour guide was Bonnie. She was informative, fun, and very charismatic. She was a great guide for our tour. 10 out of 10, would recommend to anyone looking for something to do in Reykjavik.
A Truly Wonderful Tour!
I try to go on food tours in every city that I travel to, and this was among the best. Our your guide. Heidi, was knowledgeable, fun.and so very nice. She provided a history of the sites we passed along the way and gave us shopping recommendations. The restaurants we stopped at were excellent, and all of the food was delicious. You will not leave hungry. I highly recommend this tour.
Bonnie is the BEST
Bonnie was really really made for guiding tours! She gave fun background information, made an effort to speak to each person in the group, and gave advice about different activities in Reykjavik! The food was GREAT and they easily accommodated others with food restrictions. This food tour was of the main highlights of my trip to Iceland.
Ben is the man
This food tour was already awesome, but Ben made it even better. His knowledge and passion were clearly on display, and his sense of humor was on point. The food stops were great, the rye bread ice cream was amazing, and getting a chance to walk around Reykjavik was lovely.
Great tour with fabulous eats
Excellent tour. Our guide Dave was charming and knowledgeable. It was great to taste so many of the foods of Iceland and learn so many facts. Variety was wonderful and portions plenty. We were stuffed when tour was over. We highly recommend this tour and Dave as a host.
Icelandic Indulgences
My family and I had a fantastic time on the food tour with Ben. He was an engaging and delightful guide, and every stop featured delicious food. Thanks to Ben’s recommendation that gas‑station hot dogs are where it’s at, we ended up enjoying quite a few more throughout the rest of our trip. The tour was insightful, interesting, and absolutely worth it—and you’ll definitely leave feeling full.
Delish and Super FUN
Haddi is beyond wonderful! He is super friendly, knowledgable and very funny. He steered us to the best delish Icelandic food while explaining all its history. Most fun of all, he told mischievous stories from his youth running around rampant in Reykjavik. Thank you Haddi❣️
Best intro to Reykjavík ever.
Could not have asked for a more wonderful activity to get my bearings around Reykjavík as a first time visitor. Mimir was the perfect guide; very knowledgeable, funny and great to be around. He took us to 5 different spots around the downtown Reyakjavík area and started us with the fermented shark (which wasn't as bad as Gordon Ramsay made it out to be), before the most incredible dishes like slow cooked lamb, arctic char, and a few more which I won't spoil. Definitely worth the hype and cannot recommend it any higher.
A Great Tour with Mímir
Mímir made this food tour a great experience from start to finish. He was friendly, easy to talk to, and clearly very knowledgeable about Icelandic food and culture. What stood out most was how he mixed personal stories and local insight into the tour instead of just following a script. It made everything feel more authentic and engaging. He created a relaxed atmosphere where everyone felt comfortable asking questions and having conversations. The food itself was excellent, but Mímir’s personality and storytelling really made the tour memorable. I’d highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Iceland and wanting a more personal and meaningful experience.
Fantastic food tour with Bonnie!
Bonnie (Bára) did a fantastic job walking us around some of the most iconic parts of Reykjavík and giving us a taste of authentic Icelandic cuisine at five spots. She was very personable and friendly and provided some history along the way, all with a bit of light humor. There were dishes that I would not normally eat, but the spots that she took us to were top-notch and I enjoyed it all. I would highly recommend this walking food tour. If you're lucky enough to get Bonnie, you'll be impressed!
Walking “Foodie “ tour of Reykjavík’s favorite restaurants.
A wonderful experience. We arrived late morning and thought it would be a fun way to see the choices for meals within walking distance of our hotel. Cathrine, our tour guide, was amazing. She not only took us to 5 eating establishments for sample of local favorites, but also made the group of 16 individuals feel like family. What a gift. Tracy and I highly recommend this tour. And a bonus if you book with Catherine.
