I had the most amazing experience at Wai Kaha Jade making my own pounamu. From start to finish, the team were incredibly helpful, patient, and supportive—they really stay with you every step of the way and make sure you feel confident throughout the whole process.
It was such a special and meaningful experience, and being able to create something so personal made it even better. Honestly a 10/10 experience, and I would highly recommend it to anyone wanting to make their own pounamu or try something truly unique.
Incredible experience and beautiful taonga
Me and my partner were in Ōtautahi for graduation and were hoping to find a special taonga to take home with us. We were so grateful to come across this beautiful space.
This is definitely the place to go, whether you’re local, visiting from elsewhere in Aotearoa, or travelling from overseas.
From the moment we walked in, the wairua felt warm and welcoming. The team shared their knowledge with such care and respect, guiding us to a pounamu that truly felt right for us. You can tell there is real aroha behind what they do.
Ngā mihi nui for the kindness, manaakitanga, and for helping us find such a meaningful taonga. Your mahi is truly special — tino ātaahua 🤍

It was so nice to carve our own pounamu here.
Everyone in the shop was lovely and helpful from choosing the stone, to drawing the design and carving a design (Koru in my stone)
We came half an hour late, because we went to the old address, but that was no issue und we got there by bus with no issue.
Definitely my favorite thing I did in new Teslas and unforgettable time with everyone involved.
Highly recommend for anyone wanting to carve their own or buy amazing pounamu from these highly skilled guys.
Thank you for this amazing experience
Excellent provider of genuine on site carved pounamu items.
The guest I took to the establishment was very happy with the carver she engaged with and took away with her , a couple of pieces I know she will treasure for the rest of her life.
Carver in the store late Sunday 20th December did his company proud.
Use the GPS to find the shop as it is off the mainstream.
Well worth the effort to visit it.
