We sincerely apologize for the damage to the fiber optic cable that occurred during the installation of your window. While accidents can occasionally happen during construction, we understand how disruptive it was to be without your internet service and connected devices.

However, we feel it is important to clarify certain aspects of the events surrounding your concerns.

When you initially contacted our office regarding the damaged cable, we explained that, unfortunately, we are not licensed to repair fiber optic lines and recommended that you contact your internet service provider to have the cable repaired. During that conversation, you asked whether Unified would be responsible for the repair. We explained that our contract requires the work area around the window to be free of obstructions that could interfere with the installation process, including wiring or other items that may be concealed around the opening. This is a standard provision intended to help ensure both a safe installation and to minimize the risk of accidental damage.

During that discussion, we also expressed our relief that the situation involved only a damaged cable and not an injury to our installer, as the cable presented a potential safety hazard while the work was being performed. That comment was intended solely to explain the importance of maintaining a safe work area and was not intended as a threat or an attempt to intimidate.

Regarding the wall scuffs and any other concerns referenced in your review, none were brought to our attention until now. When reviewing our before-and-after photos they did not indicate any of the alleged issues. Nevertheless, with the new photos and information we have, we are committed to addressing any valid concerns and are happy to return to the site to inspect the situation and determine the next steps.

To facilitate this process, we kindly ask the customer to email any additional pictures of the issues to service@unifiedwindows.com. This will help us understand the concerns better and determine the necessary steps to resolve them.

Thank you for your feedback. We apologize for the frustration this situation caused.

Our sales representative's intention was to help you save money by suggesting you purchase the lockset separately. Unfortunately, what was not communicated clearly is that, while the lockset itself was the same model, the door manufacturer will only honor the warranty when the lockset is supplied through their approved distribution process. Because the lockset we provided comes directly through the manufacturer, they stand behind both the door and the installation under their warranty. If we had installed a customer-supplied lockset, even the same model purchased elsewhere, the manufacturer would have denied warranty coverage on the door.

The additional cost was not simply for the lockset itself, but also for the manufacturer's approved hardware package, the specialized installation required, and preserving the manufacturer's warranty on your new door.

We completely understand why this was frustrating, and we appreciate you bringing it to our attention. We have shared your feedback with our sales team so we can better explain this requirement before installation and help prevent this type of misunderstanding in the future.
