It was our first time visiting Iceland, and we chose to go for a 3-day tour around South coast and Golden Circle. While we were not too lucky with the Northern lights unfortunately, the rest of the trip was mesmerising! The places we visited were fantastic, and it was well balanced between driving and sightseeing. Glacier hike is a breathtaking experience, go for it if you have a chance!
A special shoutout to our amazing guide Haffi. Being an amazing driver with a charming personality, he radiated positivity and made sure that everyone enjoyed the trip. Thanks a lot Haffi, those 3 days were wonderful!
I went on the 4 day tour which is actually a combination of a 3 day south coast tour plus a 1 day Snæfellsnes tour.
the minibus was quite clean they are more or less on time though on the first day you may or may not have to wait for 30 or so minutes while the driver/guide is picking the passengers up. the hotels were quite nice considering how you will basically be travelling in the middle of nowhere.
also our tour guide David was not just a good tour guide but he was also a good human being. he personaly helped me have an easier time in Iceland and helped me solve some of my issues even when he didn't have to as a guide.
my advice to those visiting Iceland is don't disregard the capital Rekjavik and think you only need to visit the Glaciers and the waterfalls and Geothermal areas and that's it. I would say spend minimum two days just relaxing and chilling (literaly) in Reykjavik just walk around the city and enjoy your time. take it easy. not every day you spend in Iceland has to be just constant travels. also if you visit in the winter be carefull of the ice on the sidewalk. it can be quite slippery. also in Iceland they mostly use cards for payment of basically everything. so make sure to have say a visa card or something similar on your person.
An Unforgettable Journey Across Iceland
Our guide in Iceland was incredibly kind, warm, and professional throughout the entire journey. From the very beginning, they made us feel welcomed and well taken care of, always patiently answering our questions and checking on everyone in the group. The weather was surprisingly good, which made the experience even more enjoyable, and the guide took full advantage of it by leading us to some truly breathtaking landscapes. Thanks to their knowledge and thoughtful arrangements, we were able to fully appreciate the beauty of Iceland in a relaxed and memorable way. It was a wonderful experience, and I would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Iceland!!!

Iceland is absolutely amazing! I had the chance to try out horse riding and Glacier hiking, both were absolutely incredible experiences. I'm so grateful to have had such a fantastic tour guide, Haffi. I really hope I can come back in the summer to explore a whole new side of Iceland.
An action packed whistle stop tour
The trip exceeded all my expectations. As I only had 2 days I was hoping to cover as many places as possible but was concerned that the daylight would be very short. While the itinerary covered a lot of stops I expected that they would all be very brief. How wrong I was, every moment of the day was used. Whether it was driving through such incredible ever changing scenery or tramping across the glacier in the twilight not a moment was wasted. My highlights were the diamonds on the beach, and the waves! Juliana was very knowledgeable of all things Icelandic, and kept up the element of suspense as the hours passed. This was the perfect introduction to Iceland and I will be returning both winter and summer.
My group did the 3 day golden circle and South coast tour. It was the perfect amount of time and we saw everything we were hoping. Max was our guide and we couldn’t have asked for a better one! He was so sweet, knowledgeable, and we felt safe with him taking us around. We will definitely be back for another troll tour during the summer!
Had the best time on our 3-day tour. Max was a highly entertaining guide-- he brought the sites to life with stories, making sure everyone was comfortable and enjoyed their experience. We stopped at breathtaking sights and scenery, hiked up a glacier, explored an ice cave, saw beautiful waterfalls, rocky beaches and Icelandic horses. The food, passenger van, and hotel accomodations were all very pleasant. 10/10 recommend. 🇮🇸
Great tour. AMAZING Guide.
My husband and I booked a fairly last minute tour using Trolls. We would be in Iceland for 8 days to see the Northern Lights. Trolls was great at communicating with us and answering any questions we had during the booking process. They also honored a discount that went into affect right after we booked. Our flights got a bit hectic on the way there and even up until the morning of the tour their customer service was helping us with taxi companies and changing pick up times and locations. Our guide is what made our tour amazing. John was very knowledgeable about the history, geology, and geography of the island. We were able to do most of the highlights, excluding the glacier hike due to weather and a waterfall that is only open during the summer. He made every effort to stay on time, get us to the highlights and made extra stops at places he knew of and wanted to share. John made a point to get to know everyone in the group, what they wanted to see, and what they enjoyed. In doing this, he was able to customize the tour to the best he could. For us, he made a point to recommend places with local brews or ways to get better panorama pictures. We had a group of around 15 people. He kept us informed of the schedule each day, the weather, the aurora forecast, what we should wear for activities and anything we would need for the day (like rain wear or hiking boots). He also handled two guests that were becoming an issue with the group, from day one and day two trying to continuous talk about politics to harassing other guests who were a bit late back to the bus. John was professional with them, and when they quit the tour he spent the morning trying to assist them with accommodations back to the city. Fortunately, the group ran smoothly after this. He even got my introvert husband to get involved to where he was actively asking John questions. The highlights included several waterfalls, a glacier climb (canceled due to wind), an ice cave hike (highly recommend), a few black sand beaches, traditional architecture, tectonic plates, geysurs, whale watching, and a visit to a geothermal bath (fantastic add on). The hotels were nice and he kept us informed on where we were staying and if it changed. The tour was fantastic and we will be returning to do more, hopefully this time with our kiddo. We hope to get John as our guide again and will make the request for more great geography lessons!

Brilliant tour with lots of local insights
What a great day! Despite the few hours of daylight our tour guide Bjorn timed everything perfectly meaning we got to see every stop in the light plus a good few more. The sights were great and not too busy and Bjorn's insight between the stops made for a really enjoyable day. The only downside is if you're tall the minibus seats don't have loads of legroom - my husband is 6ft 5 and was feeling very squashed by the end of the day but this is a very minor issue.
Thanks Troll for the fantastic experience
It’s absolutely amazing and we are very happy to join the trip with Troll. We could not see the northern lights as it was too cloudy on first attempt and it was super easy to arrange for the 2nd attempt and we finally made it! Thanks Haffi also for the amazing photos:)
Unforgettable trip and the best tour guide in the world
I joined a 8-days tour with my husband in December, 2025. This is our first time to join a tour. Initially, we planned to take a self-drive tour, but after a round of evaluation with Iceland's extreme weather. Finally, we decided to join a tour. Fortunately, we joined this tour and met a wonderful tour guide, John. He arranged everything perfectly. He kept a close eye on the weather and took good care of everyone's needs. He did everything he could to ensure our safety during each experience. He is the best tour guide in the world. we highly recommend those of u to find him if u are going to explore Iceland, who’s so knowledgeable, kind, funny. He is not only a tour guide but also a caregiver, a driver, a friend even a teacher. This journey fully revealed his love for Iceland and his work.We gain a lots from these tour. Thank you John and my group-mates.
