Very disappointing for a Niagara-on-the-Lake High End Restaurant
I booked a table for 2 for my wife's birthday on the 2nd April 2026 about 5 days before the date. I initially made a mistake with the date and booked for 6.30pm on the 1st April instead of the 2nd but immediately called back to rectify the date and time. We arrived on the 2nd of April at 6.25pm but the receptionist had no record of our booking. She offered us seats at the counter/bar which we refused to accept. She then approached the manager and was in a whispered conversation with her for some time and came back with the offer of a table. I had told the receptionist that it was my wife's birthday. We started with sparking wine before the meal. The starters were excellent and my main course was also excellent. My wife, however, had the Ricotta Ravioli which she found extremely bland. She has had this dish in other local restaurants where it was vastly superior, however the dessert was excellent. When we asked for the bill there was no complimentary drink for my wife's birthday as other local restaurants do, particularly in light of the screw - up with the reservation. The food was overpriced considering the poor quality of my wife's main course. We are residents of Niagara-on-the-Lake and have been to your establishment on several occasions as a couple and with friends. However after this experience we will never be back and will not recommend your restaurant to any friends or visitors out of town.
Food was Michelin worthy. The beet salad and arctic char were standout dishes for us. Our server Briar was very friendly and attentive. The only downside was the outdoor seating. Even though the patio is covered, it is not fully protected from the weather and the heating is limited, so the cold spring winds made for an uncomfortable dining experience and tempted us to leave.
We will definitely return for the outstanding food, but sit inside.
We had a wonderful meal at Treadwell and the service and ambience were outstanding. The food was delicious (scallop and steak tartare appetizers; beef tenderloin and char with lobster main; crème brûlée and molasses pudding for dessert). It was all of the highest quality and flavour. Our server was friendly, answered every question and handled every request. We highly recommend the wine pairing as the sommelier made excellent choices and was very informative about the wines themselves. It was a perfect evening for a special occasion.
Treadwell Cuisine was an excellent experience from start to finish. The food was absolutely delicious, with every dish thoughtfully prepared and full of flavor. The highlights for me were the crispy pork belly — perfectly cooked with a great balance of texture and richness — and the white chocolate crumble, which was an outstanding dessert to finish the meal. It had just the right level of sweetness and was incredibly satisfying. A special shoutout to Tara, who was awesome — attentive, friendly, and really added to the overall experience. Overall, a fantastic dining experience. Definitely a place I’d return to and recommend.
One of the Top 5 restaurants we have enjoyed dinner at in the past 5 years. And we dine out 4-5 nights at week. This restaurant right up there with top restaurants in NYC, Brussels, Seattle, Montreal, etc. Our server, Courtney, was so nice and friendly. Excellent list of wines from the Niagara region. The food was Amazing! We had the burrata, pork belly with duck egg, grilled char with mussels and lobster, as well as the roasted chicken with the crispy skin. We will definitely be back on our next trip to Niagara-On-The-Lake …. Probably sooner than originally planned because of this superb establishment.
The best breakfast in Niagara on the Lake! One of the main reasons we go on vacation to Niagara is to have breakfast at Treadwell. Delicious and a great perk while staying at 124 on Queen hotel with the breakfast package.
This is a great restaurant in Niagara-on-the-Lake. The food was delicious (gnocchi!!!) and a great selection that of Niagara wines. Highly recommend it!
