My husband and I cannot speak highly enough of Candace and our experience with her. She brings such a sense of peace with her along with a wealth of knowledge. This was my first child and birth and really had no idea where to start with my birth preferences. Candace helped us think through many possible scenarios that the birth could go and we felt very prepared and empowered because of her. We labored at home for as long as we could with her and the experience was wonderful. Due to covid she couldn’t come into the hospital with us, but she prepared us so well it was like she was there. We will definitely be using her again with our next child and recommending her to everyone we know who is going to have a baby soon. Edit: November 2025 We did end up using Candace again for our second birth a year ago! We cannot say enough wonderful things about our experience with her. During our first birth, COVID restrictions kept her from being in the hospital with us, but even from afar, her guidance and calm presence made all the difference. This time, having her by our side in person was truly incredible. The entire experience was peaceful, empowering, and beautifully supported from start to finish. She seemed to know exactly what we needed—often before we even had to ask. Her steady reassurance helped us stay grounded and confident through every moment. On top of that, she captured the most amazing photos of our birth that we’ll treasure forever. And even after delivery, she continued to check in, offer encouragement, and make sure we’re doing well. We’re endlessly grateful for her and couldn’t imagine our story without her.

Candace is an amazing Doula. I could not have gotten through my first labor without her. My goal was to try and have an unmedicated labor. Candace made this possible with her guidance and advice on breathing techniques and preparing mentally. She was always available for any questions I had. During actual labor, she was crucial in leading me into optimal positions to progress labor. She is very knowledgable and has such an amazing, calming presence. I would definitely recommend Candace!

Candice was truly heaven-sent, and I’m beyond grateful we chose her as our doula. I developed preeclampsia, and without her steady support and powerful advocacy, my birth experience could have stalled completely. When the hospital staff didn’t respect my wishes, Candice stood firmly by my side and made sure my voice was heard. I was referred to Candace by a neighbor and I'm so glad that I chose her to be my doula. Candace met with my husband and I for the two meetings pre-birth and we discussed what she would be doing for us through the birth process. We went over the birthing preferences, but also reminded me to keep an open mind about what would happen during birth and be open and flexible to change. Candace also offered the Spinning Babies class and I'm so glad that we did it - I only wish that I would have been able to do the class sooner because the program had a recommended workout/stretching schedule throughout the pregancy and how to stay active. Throughout the prenatal period, Candace was always available through text message or a phone call. She had a list of recommneded books to read and this was a major help for me to understand the process.I had planned for a non-medicated birth, but had to get induced and opted for an epidural. During the labor process, Candance came to the hospital when it was closer to baby coming. When she joined us in the labor room, she immediately tended to me and asked how I was doing and what had happened up to that moment so she could get informed. As I was dialating more and more, Candace was able to put my body in positions to move baby down into the birth canal for optimal baby birthing position (Spinning Babies!). When it was time to push, Candace and my husband were there and super supportive during the pushing phase.We opted to have Candace take photos and video during the birthing process and those photos were amazing! Those memories will be forever cherished. Candace stayed with us after the birth some, and said that she would stay as long as we wanted. After baby was born, Candace followed up with me to see how I was doing multiple times and came to visit me and baby at home. I highly recommend Candace and plan to use her for our next birth.

I cannot express enough how amazing Candace was throughout my birth experience. My doctor initially told me that I didn’t need a doula since I was getting an epidural—but they couldn’t have been more wrong. I actually got my epidural before Candace arrived, and even then, having her there was absolutely the best decision. Candace gave me confidence when I needed it most, empowered me to advocate for myself, and supported me in ways the nurses didn’t. She knew exactly how to help move baby along naturally and provided positive encouragement every step of the way. Her calm presence and expertise made all the difference. I will absolutely hire Candace again for my next baby. If you’re on the fence about a doula, trust me—Candace is worth it!

The moment I met Candace, as I rushed into our place of meeting hot of the latest conference call, her tranquil energy immediately put me at ease. I could tell she was the right person to calmly usher me from maiden to mother. As a single-mom-by-choice, I knew I would want + need the extra support come labor + delivery. What I didn't know, was how much support I would need entering the final phase of my pregnancy. The ensuing two home visits, one of which my mother attended as she would be in the hospital delivery room with us, not only helped put my fears of a natural birth aside but served to educate me on the beauty of labor. Candace walked us through the entire process, with the help of a checklist for my priorities, fears, etc. We then sat + talked, talked about what to expect, how to be open to the possibilities, how to lean on her for extra support when the time comes. As it happened, my little boy was so comfortable in the womb that by 39w1d I had been walking around 4cm dilated. The doctor decided it was best to induce + when Candace arrived it was as if the air around us softened. My mom was able to relax more, the labor + delivery nurse was so happy to see Candace (they had worked together before) + I had my person to calmly guide me through the labor pains. Using the exercises we worked on prior, within an hour of her arrival, the baby dropped. I had transitioned smoothly into phase two of labor + the real work began. Candace brought all the things needed to help me labor in a way that worked for my body, calmly suggesting any pivots that may help Simon usher forth into this world. Her soft voice, constant vigilance, intuitive guidance + collaboration with each of us present made for the perfect teammate. I am truly thankful for Candace + credit her for much of my labor success. During our post-partum visit it was as if I was speaking with an old friend, simply popping by to check in. She is a gem of a human and I'm deeply honored to know her.

We loved having Candace as our doula for the birth of our first child, and we hope to have her for subsistent babies as well! Candace has the most calm and loving demeanor and brings peace to the delivery room. She was so respectful of all of our decisions and really empowered us to make them. Candace knows so much about labor and delivery, she is always such a good resource for us–before, during, and after birth! UPDATE: Candace was our doula for our second child as well and was AMAZING! Candace is worth her weight in gold and we hope to have her for the delivery of every child we have. My first labor was induced with an epidural and second was spontaneous with no pain medicine, and Candace’s was invaluable in both situations.

I am so happy I had Candace as my doula! This was my first time giving birth and I would not have been able to do it without her. She was kind and caring and sensitive to all my needs. From the first time I met Candace I knew she would be a great fit. Her calm energy immediately made me feel like she was who I needed to get me through my journey. Candace taught me that birth is beautiful and does not have to be traumatic. I never thought it can really be that way! However Candace made sure to keep me progressing and had me in different positions that I would have never even thought about. She made sure the environment was relaxing and that I was taken care of. We are so so happy to have had Candace be a part of the birth of our first child, little baby Noah born on May 3, 2023.  She was absolutely wonderful and we recommend her to anyone about to give birth!  Our initial visits were all about preparing me and answering any questions we had.  She is so professional, warm and supportive.  She was always accepting of me and my preferences, never influencing me on how my birth should go.  You should have seen the relaxing environment she created for us at the hospital, it felt like a spa!  Aromatherapy, fake candles, calming music, lights turned down - I was truly able to stay calm and focus on the birth of our baby.  She made sure to help move me around as my labour was progressing to allow baby to be in the best possible position for birth.  My husband was also grateful to her as he was able to take a nap while I was laboring so he could truly be present when it was time for me to push and then in postpartum when I was completely exhausted.  She was also able to capture photos of our birth so we can forever look back on our wonderful experience.  We truly had an amazing birth story and are so grateful to Candace for her calming manner and care she gave the both of us in welcoming our child to this world.

You will not regret having her on your side! We didn't find Candace until 2 weeks before my due date, and after the initial meeting with her, I was so excited instead of being fearful of the big day. She prepared us and answered all of our questions. She has the perfect qualities you would want in a doula. She is professional, gentle, strong, wise, and most importantly, she truly cares about every mama. I went into the hospital and was panicking in pain while waiting for a labor room to be available. But the moment Candace showed up, her presence changed the room's atmosphere completely. She checked on me, offered options for the environment, for pain management, explained what I was going through, and was always supportive of my decisions. Believe it or not, the pain became so much more manageable. I was really lucky that everyone on the medical team, plus Candace, was cheering me on and encouraging me. Many hours after the baby was born, I asked her when she needed to leave, and her answer really touched me. She said, "there's not a time she needs to leave, if there is, it's whenever I'm ready." I felt so loved and supported in every way. About a week postpartum, Candace came to our home for a follow-up where she answered many more questions, coached me on how to breastfeed, and offered many valuable resources. Candace is an awesome human being,  I'd work with her again and again! Thank you so very much, Candace!"

When I got pregnant I knew that I wanted to try to have my baby naturally, and that my best shot was to have a doula by my side. I heard about Candace from an acquaintance who had a successful unmedicated delivery. We met very early in my pregnancy, and right away I knew she was who I wanted on this journey with my husband and I. Not only is she so knowledgeable, but she is so down to earth, compassionate, and has the most soothing qualities about her. Having access to Candace throughout my pregnancy brought me so much comfort and she was able to help refer us to chiropractic services etc when needed. Her spinning babies class was a fun way for us to begin prepping for labor and made everything seem so real! The exercises gave me a sense of purpose knowing I was doing good things for my body and my baby. Fast forward to the night I went into labor. I called Candace well after 11 pm to let her know things were happening and her sweet, bright eyed and bushy tailed voice was so excited for us that it made me more excited and not scared. She met us at the hospital, and immediately jumped into action. She completely transformed the room to ensure that I was in a comfortable soothing environment and was by my side, literally, the entire labor. She helped to comfort me and also helped me with different positions. I felt so assured with her there because I knew she was a line of defense against any discomfort or route that I didn’t want to go during my labor unless medically necessary. Not only was she a great support to me, but to my husband. Even the medical team noted how incredible and important Candace was to have in the room. She was such a valuable asset and important team member to everyone in those moments. After we had our sweet baby, she stayed to share in the joy and helped me get the baby to latch. When the time came, I did not want her to leave! I am so thankful that we made the decision to include Candace in this very personal, emotional, life changing moment of our lives. If you’re considering having a doula, just do it, they are such a comfort and wealth of knowledge, and specifically choose Candace! You will not regret sharing this journey with her! I don’t know how I would have been able to get through my unmedicated birth as well as I did without Candace’s knowledge and unwavering support throughout my pregnancy and labor & delivery of my baby girl. Through my whole pregnancy Candace felt engaged and involved and most importantly like she really truly cared about me and how this process went for me. Every time we met up for a session my husband and I discussed how much better we felt after talking to her, she eased our anxiety and just empowered us to think “we can do this” In our birthing class I thought the way she made my husband practice the massages with me felt a little silly because she’d be there with us at birth to direct, but it was amazing how empowered my husband felt to step in before she arrived and implemented what she’d taught him, what I’d thought a little silly was apparently exactly what HE needed to feel empowered to help, which was one of our goals in getting a doula. When my water was broken and Candace on her way and my husband instantly started massaging and reminding me “floppy bunny” so I’d stop tensing. With Candace’s assistance my birth was truly a magical and calm experience and markedly different from my first. I also want to shout out and thank Candace for coming to the hospital not once but twice. I was induced and in communication with Candace the whole time and we had agreed she’d come when I felt out of control and wanted assistance, my second day at the hospital my baby was found breech and needed an emergency ECV or c-section. I was terrified if the ECV failed I’d end up separated from my baby somehow so we came up with the plan that should anything happen Candace would stay with me and my husband would go with baby. So Candace came to the hospital at 11pm for the ECV, which was successful! Then when my doctor told me we wouldn’t be breaking my water or using more medication to induce labor until the morning, Candace went home and was back when I went into labor the next day without any complaints and a smile on her face ready to help. If you are looking for a doula who cares about, empowers you and gives you the gumption to labor on your own terms I cannot recommend Candace enough.
