We (family of 4, with two teenagers) recently returned from a trip to Spain, and I cannot recommend Totally Spain highly enough. We worked with Belén, who put together a perfect itinerary for us through Bilbao, Santander, Oviedo, and San Sebastián that felt perfectly balanced. I really appreciated the organization and level of attention and detail that went into curating our trip. A few weeks before our trip, we received a Totally Spain tote bag packed with our itinerary, all our logistical info, and specific guides for every single city we were visiting. Having all that organized in one place made the transitions so much smoother and helped get the whole family excited for the trip. Additionally, Belen recommended incredible restaurants, fun activities and handled all the logistical details. This is the second time we've used Totally Spain and I will absolutely use them again to help plan our next trip to Spain.

Thank you for planning a perfect trip for my husband and me. The transportation was perfect and the guides in each city were personable and knowledgeable. There were absolutely no surprises and everything was seamless. The hotels were in prime locations and very comfortable. We even got a complimentary bottle of Champagne in Seville. Every guide said you were the best and I couldn't agree more. Being in Seville during Holy Week was a real plus. The processions were awesome to watch! Thank you again and I will be recommending you to my friends

Belen put together a wonderful custom made 2 week tour to Spain and Portugal for me. All the private guides were so knowledgeable and it was the perfect mix of guided and free time for a solo traveler. I will be working with her again in the near future to customize other tours. I highly recommend Totally Spain for a custom made tour.

All the arrangements, from the selection of hotels to transfers to tours, were executed with a high level of professionalism. High compliments are given on the selection of guides for the walking tours, and for the evening events (cooking, flamenco, and tapas) as we traveled for 10 nights to Cordoba, Granada, Sevilla, and Madrid (including Toledo and San Lorenzo del Escorial). All of the tour guides excelled in bringing their cities "alive" and we left each location with a better understanding of the social and cultural history of Andalusia and Madrid. The "Trip Information Document" and the "City Highlights" were extremely helpful as were the links to Totally Spain blog posts for additional information.

Another perfect experience Having had a very positive first experience with Totally Spain in March 2025, we did not hesitate to use Belen and her team when planning a return visit to Spain in March 2026. This time we requested a fully customized journey, 30 days in length, that covered much of the length and breadth of Spain. Working with us, Belen flushed out our ideas and provided suggestions that include additional regions and experiences. Local arrangements including hotels, trains, and private transport were exceptional. Our private tour guides were all very professional, knowledgeable, and informative. Documentation, including a complete itinerary, contact details, local maps, food and entertainment suggestions, and lists of museums and galleries was comprehensive and extremely useful. We just returned home and are already musing about a third trip guided by Belen and her team.

Unforgettable and seamless experience! We had an absolutely fabulous time! This trip would not have been possible without the incredible support from Belen, Olaia, and the entire team. They expertly arranged every detail—drivers, guides, tickets, and museum entrances—making it seamless and stress-free. Each tour guide, including Begoña in A Coruña, Chus in Santiago de Compostela, Esther in Madrid, and Laura in Toledo, brought the cities to life with their knowledge and passion. Special thanks to Begoña for the thoughtful translation of a Rosalia de Castro poem! We can’t recommend them enough and will definitely turn to them for future trips to Spain or Portugal. Thank you for making it unforgettable!

We had a FABULOUS time!!! We’ve commented so many times that this trip wouldn’t have been possible without Belen, Olaia, everyone at Totally Spain who were phenomenal to work with. They took care of all of the details: drivers, tour guides, train tickets, and entrances to all museums and attractions…We have raved about them to anyone who will listen, and will continue to do so! We learned so much from the tour guides: Begoña (A Coruña), Chus (Santiago de Compostela), Esther (Madrid), and Laura (Toledo). Also, we’d like to thank Begona for her very thoughtful Rosalia de Castro poem translation. They made each city come alive, and gave us a greater appreciation for each of the cities/regions of Spain! We truly hope to make future trips to Spain and/or Portugal. When we do, Totally Spain will definitely be hearing from us for assistance again. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!

Totally Spain is the best travel company you will ever use. Belen and her team are efficient, knowledgeable, and extremely creditable. They have gained so much respect over the years, simply…because they deserve it. They were incredibly helpful right from starting the booking process, to checking in when we got home. We were contacted while on the trip several times ensuring our needs were being met, and we always felt secure knowing they were there. The drivers and guides they secured were all 10 out of 10, very prompt and definitely knew there stuff. I encourage anyone looking for help with travel to contact Totally Spain, you will never be disappointed just grateful you did. Travel can hard these days so make it easy. Sincerely, Vicky and Noel

We traveled to Córdoba, Granada and Sevilla in October and had the most amazing time thanks to top-notch customer service and attention to detail we received from Belén at Totally Spain. It was a delight dealing with her and everyone involved with Totally Spain. She put together a very thorough itinerary for these magical cities and all we had to do was show up! The tour guides and drivers were absolutely superb, and we really enjoyed their personalities and vast knowledge. No detail was spared. We would use Totally Spain again and we highly recommend! The cost is totally worth it.

The Gold Standard for Spain & Portugal: Our Dream 40th Anniversary with Totally Spain I cannot give Belen and the team at Totally Spain higher marks. We were in a difficult situation just 5 weeks before our 17-day anniversary trip: our previous planner was unreliable, and while we had flights, we had zero itinerary. Belen took our case—despite their 6-week policy—and turned our stress into pure excitement. She asked us to trust her, and she came through BIG TIME! The Logistics: Seamless and Stress-Free As adventurous travelers in our early sixties who have explored the world from Europe to the Holy Land to South America, we knew this trip was too large to "wing it." Highlights included: • Private tours in every major city. • Fun, small group tours, including a cooking class and tapas tours. • Authentic local experiences like a Fado performance and a Flamenco show. Belen handled every detail: • Transport: A perfect mix of high-speed trains (the meals were lovely!) and flights from Porto to Madrid and Seville to Barcelona. Every airport and hotel transfer was punctual and professional. • The "Bible": We received a physical travel pack that became my "bible." It contained every detail in one place, though I appreciated having the digital backup on my iPhone. • Accommodations: Phenomenal, centrally located hotels with spacious rooms and the amazing breakfasts my husband loves. The Guides: The Heart of the Trip The private guides provided by Totally Spain weren't just experts; they became friends. • Lisbon (Pedro): Wonderful, professional, and so knowledgeable on "all things Portugal" that we invited him to lunch just to keep the conversation going! • Porto (Maria): She shared "hidden" facts you won't find in any travel book, making Porto feel extra special. • Madrid (Esther): A fantastic city tour and a brilliant guide through the Royal Palace and the Prado. • Toledo (Adolfo): His deep knowledge of this old city was incredible, and he found us a lunch spot we never would have discovered alone. • Seville (Adriana): Our FAVORITE! Bubbly, warm, and genuine. She helped us capture the perfect photos and even arranged a magical horse and buggy ride back to our hotel. • Barcelona (Montserrat): She was amazing. When we accidentally slept through our Casa Batlló tour the day before, she worked her magic and got us whisked to the front of the line to have our tickets honored. I don't know how she did it! A Journey Tailored to Us Belen ensured we saw every major site without ever waiting in line. The itinerary was packed, but planned in such a relaxing way that we never felt rushed. Belen checked on us frequently via WhatsApp, ensuring everything went off without a hitch. Whether you want a high-end luxury experience or have a specific budget, Totally Spain works to make the trip unique to your tastes. They took the burden of planning off our shoulders and replaced it with a dream adventure we could not have imagined. If you want an amazing trip without hassle or worry, book with Totally Spain! We HIGHLY recommend them!!!!

A truly fantastic experience. Totally Spain is very professional, methodical and totally dependable. Right from tour planning, detailed email & printed instructions, trip suggestions, tickets, event bookings, restaurant and sight seeing guide to such minute details like pick up driver contact details, all done flawlessly. We did not face a single hiccup through our three city trip of Spain. Belen Encinas & her team are simply amazing. They were always available even though we were traveling in the middle of the Christmas holidays. I would definitely recommend Totally Spain for your travel needs. Indeed a 5-star agency. Thanks very much.

This was our second time using Totally Spain and this tour was a lot more complex than our first. This time we had a custom tour and spent 2 weeks in Spain traveling between Barcelona, Zaragoza, San Sebastian and Madrid by train and 2 weeks in Portugal spending time in Porto & Lisbon and driving through the wine regions in between. All our transfers went smoothly and all our hotels were 4-5 stars and in excellent and varied locations. But the reason we used Totally Spain for a second time is their knowledge of the local tours and how they customise these tour choices to best suit your requirements. We did some amazing tours, we like wine and food tours and we visited and tasted a large array of different foods, wines producers and providers at every stop as well as seeing the cultural sightseeing spots. Thank you Belen, you arranged a brilliant holiday program for us.

Every step a curated experience. This is what Ken and his team do better than anyone else I have ever worked with in planning travels. Passionate Historians, Architects, Writers, these are the people that Ken partners with to walk with you and take you back in time. Every building, Corner, Landscape, Church and Acropolis becomes more than just a visual but ascend to an emotional connection... with a place and its people. But, --- only if you are able to travel with an open heart. Because If you do so, Ken's and his Team members will open their hearts up as well and give you an experience unlike any other across Spain & Portugal. In my recent experience through the Andalusian Region I was privileged by an exceptional group of Drivers to get me to and from remote places and Train Hubs. All arranged by Ken. All exceptional and on time. But the true stars of my experiences were the local Guides that Ken arranged to walk with me for the day. And so I feel compelled to share their names with you. Each one an exceptional ambassador of their home regions. Jaime Turmo in Seville. David Soldado in Cordoba. Jesus Naranjo in Ronda. And Maria Jesus Suarez in Granada. And a Special Shout Out to a Driver with whom I spent hours with --in roaming and exploring and sharing a lot with... Mr. Francisco Jimenez. All of them exceptional story tellers, but more importantly each one a special Human Being. I am eternally grateful to Totally Spain (Ken). Totally Spain is A High Recommend if you are willing to Do Three Things on your travels. 1. Travel with an Open Heart. 2. Not count pennies. 3. Allow Ken to Curate your journey. Just give him your bucket list of things to see and do, and let him and his team do their thing! Thank you Ken and All At Totally Spain for allowing me to cross off one of my Life Buck List To Do's with such exceptional moments.

Totally Spain took care of all booking details for our three-week trip to Madrid and Andalusia, providing reliable transportation within Spain, top-notch boutique hotels, and excellent private guides and activities in each city. Overall we found they provided excellent quality with good value. They ensured that we had totally reliable and always punctual private car transfers between each hotel and train station. The seven hotel bookings were all quality boutique hotels offering good value in good locations with good service and excellent breakfasts included.

Trip Summary:

David’s 21-day journey through Spain was designed to provide an immersive yet unhurried exploration of the country’s most iconic cities and cultural landmarks. Starting in Madrid, he enjoyed a full week in the capital, combining privately guided tours of the historic centre and Royal Palace with small-group gastronomic walks and time to explore the city’s three renowned art museums at leisure. Day trips to Toledo and Segovia by high-speed train added depth and variety.

From Madrid, the journey moved south to Granada, where private guides brought the Albayzín, Realejo, and the Alhambra to life. A flamenco show and a multi-day monument pass rounded out the experience. En route to Ronda, a stop at a traditional olive oil mill added a memorable local touch.

In Ronda, David’s centrally located junior suite provided a scenic base for exploring the town’s dramatic clifftop views and historic centre. From there, he continued to Málaga, with a guided walk, tapas, and museum visits, before travelling by train to Seville for a rich three-day stay. The visit included the Reales Alcázares, a group cooking class, and a train trip to Cádiz for a coastal day out.

The final chapters of the trip were spent in Córdoba, where the ancient Mezquita and Jewish Quarter offered a powerful close to the cultural circuit, before returning to Madrid for a final night. Throughout the trip, seamless private transfers, high-speed trains, thoughtfully chosen boutique hotels, and expert local guides made the journey both effortless and enriching—a classic Totally Spain experience, curated for quality and comfort

Trip Summary

Paula and David’s 20-day journey through Portugal was a beautifully balanced mix of nature, culture, gastronomy, and coastal relaxation—crafted to showcase the country’s remarkable diversity at a relaxed and enjoyable pace.

Their adventure began on the lush island of São Miguel in the Azores, where they explored volcanic calderas, thermal springs, tea plantations, and botanical gardens with a private guide—immersing themselves in the raw, natural beauty of the Atlantic. From there, they flew to the mainland to experience the atmospheric streets of Porto and the vineyard-clad landscapes of the Douro Valley, enjoying wine tastings, a river cruise, and the charm of Portugal’s northern heart.

They then travelled inland to the remote Schist Villages of central Portugal, staying in the creative haven of Cerdeira and venturing out on scenic hikes and 4x4 adventures through the Serra da Lousã mountains. A restful break followed in the quiet seaside village of São Pedro de Moel—perfectly placed between exploration and relaxation.

In the Algarve, the couple based themselves in Tavira, a lesser-known gem known for its calm waters, whitewashed architecture, and local charm. Finally, the trip concluded in Lisbon with guided tours of the capital’s historic quarters, a food-focused evening walk, and a day trip to the fairy-tale palaces of Sintra and the elegant coastal town of Cascais.

With boutique hotels throughout, seamless logistics, and carefully curated local experiences, this tailor-made journey offered Paula and David a deeply personal and memorable way to experience the best of Portugal.

This organization provided very thorough service with excellent communication throughout the tour. The tour itself was a comprehensive look at Andalusian Spain and included guides in every city we visited. The drivers that they selected were always on time and very companionable people during the drive. A few hiccups with Train connections, due in large part to ongoing construction at the affect affected train station, and a train cancellation. Minor issues, quickly resolved. The guides were very knowledgeable and provided a wealth of historical and sociological information relevant to the sites we were visiting. All in all, an excellent experience.

Ken Baldwin at Totally Spain designed a fantastic 2 week trip to Southern Spain for our small group of 7 people. He worked patiently with us during the planning phase, always incorporating our ideas and adding many of his own excellent suggestions. The group began in Córdoba, where a stay in the heart of the city offered easy access to the Mezquita and Jewish Quarter, with a private guide bringing the area’s diverse heritage to life. From there, they continued to Granada, where a highlight was the guided tour of the Alhambra and Generalife, combined with free time to wander the Albaicín and enjoy the city’s lively tapas culture.

Ronda, nestled in the hills of Andalucía, provided a scenic contrast—with time to explore its dramatic gorge, ancient streets, nearby white villages and an olive oil producer. Our group of seven had a 13-day trip visiting Cordoba, Granada, Ronda, Seville, and Madrid, Spain. We booked nine guided tours, three trips by train, and had 12 pickups by car. Except when the train to Madrid was delayed by an hour, our drivers and tour guides were always on time in the designated the location. I had expected with a trip that complex there would have been snags. All the tour guides were very experienced and knowledgeable. Our five hotels were quite nice and in great locations in the towns. Ken Baldwin did a wonderful job working with us to plan the trip and assisting when the train to Madrid was delayed. I would highly recommend Totally Spain for customized trips in Spain.
