Amazing food, we would certainly recommend
We visited Thyme & Chillies on a Thursday night whilst on holiday in Birdham. We booked a table which we would recommend as it was busy. The food was outstanding, very tasty and plenty of it. The staff are very friendly and helpful. We tried to order a portion of rice each; however our waiter let us know that this would be too much and recommended sharing. He was completely right and kept popping back to check we hadn’t run out (which we didn’t). We came away feeling like they had not tried to sell us food for the sake of it, but actually helped us to make a good choice. We visited on their live music night. The authentic sitar was played beautifully and was a lovely addition. Jonny who was playing was very friendly and interacted with us which made our meal even more special. . The manager came over at the end of our meal to speak to us and check we had enjoyed. This personal touch made it feel very special and stand out from any other restaurant we visited during our holiday. We would certainly recommend Thyme and Chillies
It's NOT 2 for 1 on Mondays!
Please note it is NOT 2 for 1 on Monday's as they advertise outside. The signs are all along the road we drive past all the time, so one Monday we thought we would stop. But you have to be a member to get this deal. But they don't make that clear . Service was terrible , they stand there looking at you while you are eating. Makes you feel very uncomfortable. The phone rings constantly behind you.. we saw them pick up popodums and put them back on the tray. Why not just throw them in the bin? Small portions as well.. The lamb was chewy and so salty. I left starving hungry . Felt ripped off because we paid for 2 meals when the only reason we stopped was to get the deal 2 for 1 on Monday. Would not recommend and we will not be going again.
We went for our anniversary last night and had a fabulous meal. Lourenco recommended a couple of speciality dishes and the duck one was amazing as was the king prawn curry. The service is outstanding and all of the waiters were very attentive. This restaurant is one of our favourites in the Chichester area. Highly recommend it.
Unreal wonderful food and experience. We’re from Texas and visiting family in the area and they took us to Thyme & Chillies. Lawrence is a spectacularly friendly person and went above and beyond for us. Tuesday is dosa night, it was just lovely. We had multiple chicken & lamb dishes. The lamb was amazingly tender. Watching the dosa being made was very fun and educational. The coconut chutney with the dosa is one of my favorite foods I’ve ever eaten. It was such a good experience all around. Excellent food, drinks, service, people. Highly highly recommend.
We stayed nearby and went twice for take-out. The place looks nice and easy to reach from the road. I've eaten a lot of Indian food all over the world, but I can honestly say this has been the best I had! A totally different menu then I'm used to (which is good!), all the food is amazing and extremely tasteful. We were on holiday from The Netherlands, so I'm gonna miss this place :-) When in this area: eat at Thyme & Chillies!
@Thyme, thanks for the free beer during waiting, much appreciated! Good luck with the business!
