Investment Withdrawal Issues and Finding a Way Forward I had withdrawal issues with this platform, which was overwhelming. I wasn’t sure what to do next, but I eventually found a process that helped me with my withdrawal. Sharing in case it helps others in a similar situation.

Unathorized fraudulent charges I am repeatedly getting charged for one way transfers- which we do not offer, never have, never will. My preferences have always stated that we need to charge at least 3 hours minimum. When I follow the process to deny the job and request refunds- at least half the time I am denied refunds. This is unethical, unprofessional and illegal. I have spent several thousand dollars per year on legitamite Thumbtack leads since 2019 and deserve this serious issue is rectified immediately by upper management. I will not purchase any more Thumbtack leads until then.

Ongoing Fake Leads, Improper Charges, and Formal Refund Demand Hello Thumbtack Support Team, We are writing to formally escalate an ongoing and unresolved issue that has severely impacted our business for over four months. Since advertising on Thumbtack, we have consistently received a high volume of leads that are clearly fake. These leads include non-existent customer names, invalid or unreachable phone numbers, vague or generic appliance issues, and situations that never occurred. Despite repeated efforts to contact these “customers,” none have been legitimate. Each of these fake leads has resulted in charges ranging from $18.00 to $18.58 per lead. Collectively, this has caused significant and ongoing financial loss to our business. We have followed your instructed process multiple times by submitting reports and requesting refunds. However, these requests are repeatedly denied through automated responses, without meaningful investigation or resolution. At this point, continuing to submit individual refund requests is no longer reasonable or effective. We are confident these are fraudulent leads, not customer errors. The pattern is consistent, ongoing, and began shortly after activating our advertising. We are requesting the following: A thorough review of our account and lead history Refunds for the documented fake leads listed below Immediate action to prevent continued fraudulent leads from being sent to our account A direct response from a support representative (not an automated reply)

Anybody know who New Era is?? I have gone through thumbtack a few times to find a handyman, contractor and this time, I got so conned it was horrible. Over $20k and damage to my home done by Rivera's Drywall and Remodeling that used someone elses license, bond, did horrible work, they falsified measurements to get me a fake 3D where I was high pressured into buying cabinets that I did not want to, but ended up with $7k in my living room. All of this is under investigation and fraud and thumbtack cannot mediate, since the contractor gave a bad phone number to call back, however, they want me to do this NewEra thing and all I got was a one time fee to some lawyer entity and I am like No, I am not paying. They said they were, however, I have got no follow up. This is not small claims, the amount of $$ that I was taken for, not counting cabinets that do not fit, nor the amount of additional damage that was done to me. Do your diligence. I have requested thumbtack to get them off their list and they refuse to do so, knowing they are falsifying someone elses license, use multiple names, etc etc etc etc. This has been a nightmare and it is not small claims. I am out $20k

Scamm I started with Thumbtack last year because my franchise was working with them. Honestly, it’s a love–hate situation. They charge too much for leads, and 99% of them feel fake or go nowhere. Once in a while, you might get a good exclusive lead that turns into a $250–$300 job, but that’s very rare compared to all the wasted money

There is no more greedy application a terrible app for pumping money out of handyman's!!!! Be careful, this is not a company, but a gathering of scammers. One of my many examples of working with thumbtack, Out of 8 leads (for which I paid $ 140) I managed to agree on work with only one. The cost of the work was $ 120, so count, expenses for gasoline, time for work and travel time to the client, total minus $ 40 from your money. What is this!!!!! If someone is ready to sue these scammers, please write to me, I am ready for this step and I know several more guys who have a similar situation

Every small business should be warned! 1) The app is designed to send leads based on your preferences (job type, service area, availability based on your calendar, etc). It ignores my calendar and continues to allow people to request my services. (Each time a customer selects you in their big search net you are charged based on what Thumbtack thinks the job is worth which is often not accurate as they base their decision on the zip code and how the job is requested by the customer. ****** are not reasonable in charges. A 10% fee on the job the customer thinks theyre requesting. A wedding or event photography for 3h is possibly a large fee to me, the photographer. Problem being that the person is actually looking for someone to photograph their 2yos birthday party and not a wedding! HUGE difference in $, but they continue to nail us with ridiculous fees - charged $160 for a lead to poss secure the job that isnt going to generate enough $ to validate being charged $160 is just ridiculous! Plus, Im one of 4 photographers contacted - maybe one will actually get the job (if the customer answers). I begged them to reevaluate their commission structure before more of us leave the app. It falls upon deaf ears 3) Theyre not reasonable in their customer service. As someone who is involved with multiple photography groups, this is becoming the consensus across the board. They consistently deny refunds without fact based responses. Ex: my parameters are set to within ************************************ with a lead that was 172 miles away. I immediately replied, confirmed the location (just in case I missed something) and the immediately declined the job explaining to the customer it was likely a glitch that connected us. Customer was appreciative and understanding. All of this happened within 5 minutes. Thumbtack not only charged me $70 for this lead but they declined the refund request. Thats beyond unacceptable and unethical.

Ive noticed that this is a bit of a scam. Ive only had thumbtack for a week and they have literally charged my card at least seven times. They want you to have your lead rates to be in the competitive range and now I have taking my leads budget all the way down to the lowest amount and now all of a sudden Theyre providing discounts on the rate that theyre charging me for the leads. I just dont find it realistic that the clients are reaching out in search of a pro and they dont respond at all. They message one time and never hear from the client again even after you respond within a minute or two of them initially reaching out to you. ****!

As a small business owner, I have found Thumbtack to be an unethical and predatory service. Thumbtack allows potential clients to contact up to five professionals at no cost, while charging each professional a fee for the lead. This model is inherently unfair because the professionals are the only ones who bear the financial burden, while clients are free to shop around without any consequences. Moreover, Thumbtack does not properly vet leads. Clients can provide invalid phone numbers, fail to respond to messages, or simply seek the lowest bidder without any genuine intention to hire a professional. When this happens, the professional is still charged, which is not only frustrating but also financially damaging, especially for small businesses.Getting assistance from Thumbtack support is also a nightmare. There is no phone support, only a portal and email communication, which takes days for a response. Even then, Thumbtack rarely offers refunds, even when the lead is completely unqualified or non-responsive. As a small business, this is not only an inconvenience but also a significant financial loss.Thumbtacks business practices are predatory, and they do not take the interests of small businesses into consideration. It is extremely disappointing that a platform like this, which thrives on the hard work of small businesses, operates in such an unfair and one-sided manner. Its clear that Thumbtack should be better regulated to ensure fairness, transparency, and accountability for small business owners who rely on every lead and opportunity.I would strongly advise small businesses to be cautious when using this platform. I have been severely disappointed by their lack of support and the unethical practices they continue to enforce.

Signed up to be a driver, after no success and no good lead I deactivated my account days later they charged me with another lead! After I deactivated my account. Thats a scam and fraud. Also got charged for leads that I never had contact with the costumer. Or wasnt even aware that I had a lead from Thumbtack.

Absolutely awful platform. Charges a pro for "direct leads", which is simply when someone contacts you looking for service. This website is a scam, and it aims to target and profit off of freelance workers instead of helping them build their platform. Highly do NOT reccomend.

On Thumbtack there was a guy who requested my cleaning service so of course I was charged an expensive fee. I sent him a message and then called only to find out that he is looking for work not a worker. He wants to be the cleaner not pay a cleaner. I explained to Thumbtack and requested a refund but was denied a refund. Unbelievable!

They connect you to unqualified workers that do bad work and damage your home. You're not able to talk to an actual person to voice your concerns. The customer service is nonexistent and the "customer resolution" is a joke. They don't help you with any issues and only redirect you to the worker who did the bad job initially. They send generic emails and won't respond to any inquiries. They won't help if you have an issue. They open a "dispute", which is useless. They give a timeline for the worker to respond and then nothing happens when they don't respond. They "reopen" the dispute happens but a never-ending cycle, wasting time.

Very bad experience with Thumbtack Pro app. Pretty much take my money in several leads auto charging my card, no refund. I spend $1000 in 3 days in leads. I lose $960 investment and make $40 profit out of $1000. BE AWARE AND STAY AWAY FROM THIS APP. THUMBTACK is a SCAM, RIPOFF, FRAUD MONEY PIT.

Worst app I ever used being in business for years. They charge and don’t even tell you, one time they charged my card $89 for a lead and the customer never picked up my phone call or message back and thumbtack told me it’s not refundable. They charge for leads more than the price of the judge. 95% of the leads will not pick up the phone or respond back and this is seconds after getting an alert they need service. Yeah they will scam and take all your money without a refund.
