☺Le personnel est super sympa, les chambres sont bien aménagées, la localisation est parfaite. On a fait le trek organisé avec l'hôtel. C'était super, merci à nos 2 guides Lilik et Arnold. Ils étaient géniaux. N'hésitez pas à demander à partir avec eux.
☹Le propriétaire est parfois un peu froid mais cela n'entache pas le séjour. Et il organise bien les choses.
Le matelas , il était un peu affaissé au milieu. Les oreillers , beaucoup trop gros et trop durs. Torticolis garanti. Peut-être qu'on aurait pu en demander d'autres. C''est donc de notre faute.

☺ We came for the jungle tour to Bukit Lawang and stayed at Thomas Retreat. Our plan was to stay 2 nights and sleep 1 night in the jungle. But because it was such a nice place we stayed 2 nights longer. Thomas is a very good host, who is happy to help you organise and plan your stay. Everyone working there is super nice and in for a chat! They really made our stay. Clean and nice room which has everything you need. A very nice setting overlooking the river.
We booked the jungle track with Thomas and what a success it was! Our guides, Dino and Arnold led us safely through the jungle. We had an amazing time with them. They adapted to our pace.
The guys are very knowledgeable about the flora and fauna of the jungle and its surroundings. They were very committed to a successful track and so we were very lucky to see many orang-utans up close.
All in all, it was a real gem and an experience for life thanks to everyone at the retreat! We would definitely come back and recommend it to others!!

The food in the restaurant is 10/10.
Upgraded to air con room which was definitely needed at this time of the year.

☺Wir hatten einen tollen Aufenthalt in Bukit Lawang in Thomas Retreat. Thomas und sein Team sind super freundlich und hilfsbereit - wie eine große Familie. Wir haben uns sehr willkommen gefühlt. Das Essen war immer sehr lecker. Und samstags findet eine Party im Restaurant statt.
Das Highlight war natürlich der 2-tägige Dschungel-Trek mit einer Übernachtung - ein unvergessliches Erlebnis mit den besten Guides. Wir können die Unterkunft und die Tour sehr empfehlen. Man kann auch den lokalen Freitag-Markt besuchen und ein Rafting über den Fluss machen. Wir würden sehr gerne wiederkommen.

What a great time. Trust Thomas to organise it all for you and you won't be dissapointed.
☺ We did a jungle trek to see orangutans and we saw three wild ones including an alpha male. Thomas organised everything including the guides and transport to and from the airport. Our guides couldn't have been better and helped my wife on many of the more difficult sections. The trek finished with rafting back to our room. Wow! What a great way to finish and sure beats walking back.
☹ The bed is very hard.

☺ Thomas and his team were fantastic . The jungle trek and tubing we did with them and the amazing guide gave us an experience we won’t ever forget..
Thomas dieted us being met when we arrived and got us back to Medan in his private vehicle . Our room was perfect overlooking gd the river which was exciting in itself the night we had monsoon rain crossing the bridges and watching the river rise …

☺ An awesome experience in the jungle. The village Bukit Langwan is small and set along the river. Thomas's Retreat is across a small bridge. Thomas arranged our transport from Medan and from the moment we were collected, we were made to feel special. Staff were waiting to collect our baggage on arrival, we had a welcome drink and was met by Thomas. He arranged for a private 2 day trip in the jungle (we are both in our 60s) which was an amazing experience. We saw orangutans, white handed gibbon, tortoise, and hornbill alongside other wildlife. Our guide Agil was patient, pointing out things of interested and he wanted us to have a 5 star experience. The food over the 2 days was very good and the presention was excellent. Every part of the experience was thrilling.
On our return, we decided to stay a couple of extra days. Thomas arranged a visit to the bat cave again with Agil and then a snake walk in the evening. Both were very good and informative. We then spent a morning watching the local children playing on tubes in the river, whilst we sat in the water cooling ourselves. When it was time to say goodbye, our bags were taken to the transport, which was all arranged by Thomas.

Fijne accommodatie, het is een guesthouse dus geen luxe, maar prijs kwaliteit verhouding is heel goed.
☺Locatie is fantastisch naast de rivier. Eigenaar en personeel zijn super vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Ze regelen alles, jungle trekking, taxi van en naar Bukit Lawang. Heel goed geregeld allemaal. Ze staan allemaal Voorne klaar. De jungle tocht was ook onvergetelijk.

Goede plek, het is een homestay, dus geen luxe, maar zeer goede prijs kwaliteit verhouding.
☺Locatie is super aan de rivier. Eigenaar en personeel zijn heel vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Ze regelen alles, jungle tocht, taxi van / naar vliegveld / Lake Toba. Niks is teveel. Heerlijke keuken en lekkere fruitsappen.
