We have recently stayed at the Hideout. We thougherly enjoyed our stay. The staff was super helpful and the little cat on site was so cute đ„° only a few downsides and maybe recommendations. The cups and cutlery was dirty in the cupboard once we arrived and had to be rewashed. Our hot water went off which Andy had sorted within minutes! The Sauna we did not use we spent so long trying to get it above luke warm and it kept going off so in the end just gave up đ
. Cooking facilities was fab and the pod itself was so cozy and warm with fantastic decor. The pool table could have been better no chalk for the cue and the balls didnt really roll much. The tiki bar is only open from 5pm. Would of been great to enjoy it in the sunshine earlier in the day instead we nipped down at 5pm when it was cold and just wanted to get back in the warmth so didnt stay long. There is a fire pit but no heat at all anywhere close to the bar and the young lad serving who was amazing BTW looked frozen solid. The last downside was due to some of the parking sitting below a tree my car was covered in bird muck the following day it may be better to have the spaces away from under the trees. I bet a car wash service would make a killing here! đ wondering if they put a big screen out at the tiki bar in the summer for the world Cup now that would be amazing!
Booked here for 2 night stay in the hideout, when i checked in young lady wasnt very professional, forgot to give us keys and hockey accessories as I walked back in I could hear her laughing about it to soemone else. The room I dont feel like it was well layed out, the cooking facilities wasnt very good, griddle was dirty and cups wasnt very clean. The shower was terrible very cold came back home ill from it, sauna didnt evan work couldnt feel any heat stayed the same. Very disappointed about the hot tub it wasnt clear anywhere that states you have to keep buying extra wood so it cost extra money every 4 hours to heat the hot tub, one of the biggest annoyances was the list left to follow at check out, I have paid to come on holiday and to have a break, not clean someone else's property, if it was cheap I wouldnt mind but we are charged a premium and then expected to clean and put away everything otherwise face a fine, they even had the cheek to ask us to empty the hot tub after we checked out! Im also allergic to cats and there was a cat that kept coming into our room and couldn't get it out, no where does it state there will be a cat constantly roaming around freely!
All looks very nice but lacked service and thought for the paying guests, everything felt like it was geared to the convenience of the staff not guests.
Very disappointing đ
We had a lovely two night stay here in March 2026, the outdoor area is fantastic for evenings enjoying food, a soak in the hot tub and a game of pool. Our teenager approved , and that's a good sign.
The staff were all so friendly and helpful. Such a welcoming atmosphere.
The only comment I have is that the shower room/toilet is tiny, but thats all.part of the glamping experience.
Always sick coming here

Stayed in The Lodge for 3 nights and the best way I can describe it is, it's nice but not for this price.
At ÂŁ175 a night, it's hard to justify that price when you look at some of the properties on websites you can rent for ÂŁ175 a night.
Some niggles we encountered during our stay:
âąThe place is pretty small. We weren't expecting big, but this place is small. The Lodge is advertised as suitable for 4 people but there is zero privacy between the bed and the living room.
âąThe bed and fold out sofa and incredibly small and super uncomfortable. It was like sleeping on an old ironing board.
âąAs soon as we walked in, our little one almost got cup up on a rusty part of the fireplace that had been pulled away from the main body.
âąThe hot tub filter wasn't fitted correctly, so by day 1 the hot tub turned slimey. Staff did respond super quick and sorted it first thing in the morning.
âąThere was a scum ring where the old toilet seat used to sit that had not been cleaned and the shower had no door, so you had to mop the toilet and floor after a shower and the exposed boiler really killed the spirit in the room.
âąThe sauna is a one person sauna and when you put water on the stones, your legs get peppered with scalding water. 2 people can fit in with a squeeze but person 2 is literally sitting over the fire and will get a steam volcano up the pooper when the water hits those stones.
âąThe constant background noise of the M58 and local factories really took you away from the seclusion the place is trying to convey.
âąThe decking between the hot tub and Swedish bucket was always wet and slippery with slime. It was wet when we arrived and wet when we left, even when the surrounding area had dried out.
âąPeople were constantly working and walking up and down the path next to The Lodge from as early as 08:30.
Who blows leaves at 08:30 in a secluded getaway spot?!
âąThe is a little grass patch with park right outside the front door of The Lodge that people played on. Again, not really a relaxing secret getaway when it's Dads V Lads Friday 4 meters away.
âąYou can see into the other huts from your garden spot and the fence is full of holes and gaps. Bit is a pervs hot spot considering anyone can walk over the fields at any time due to having no real barriers.
Lots of little niggles that really took away from that ÂŁ175 a night, Secret Garden feel. I kind of feel like The Lodge was attempt number 2 after The Getaway and the other rooms may have just been better, with improvements upon improvements as the place had more practice.
On a positive note though, this place is family run and has only been going for 2 years and they've nailed some areas.
âąWe booked maybe a year before we actually stayed and the communication throughout has been amazing, second to none.
âąThe welcome book they send out before you arrive is the best I've ever seen and that includes some of the so called premier hotels and businesses.
âąYou can tell that this place is being built by people that care, as there is a lot of ambience being poured into the place in spots dotted about the place. It's just ruined when the magically fairy tree all lit up has an old hot tub leaned up against it or the bin under the palm trees has the back end burned out of it.
Plenty of 5 star reviews and happy customers, so make your own judgement. My expectations may have been too high after waiting a year to actually experience it myself.
Try one of the other rooms, rather than The Lodge.
So myself and my sister in law booked this place for a romantic get away which we was mis sold that itâs same camp but individual pods suitable for 4 as we was aware we was on the same site. now up on arrival there was one pod for 4 apparently and a double bed and sofa bed. the customer service was fowl. there was no refund given or offered never mind accepted. this is fowl. i felt discriminated especially when i have OCD and i need my space. this wasnât taken into consideration after numerous phone calls. this was in acceptable and ile be taking this further. DO NOT BOOK THIS AS A COUPLE IF YOUR DOUBLING UP AND EXPECTING YOUR OWN POD AS THATS NOT WHAT YOU GET. And the girl ok the phone is fowl and rude. definitely needs a reality check.

Thank you for that great story, Weâve looked into this review, and to be completely clear, you did not have a booking with us and you never stayed at The Secret Garden Glamping.
The booking was made by your sister, who stayed with her partner. During that process, she asked about bringing additional guests, and we confirmed the unit can accommodate up to a maximum of four people which exactly as advertised and sold and you have kindly shown exactly that it the screen shot so we do appreciate that.
This appears to be a misunderstanding between your self and sister thatâs been passed along second-hand.
We also feel itâs important to address the comments regarding customer service. All of our calls are recorded, and the way you spoke to our team during these conversations was completely unacceptable. The language I canât even repeat here. Our guest services team genuinely care about every booking and go above and beyond daily, but they should never be subjected to abusive behaviour.
We absolutely welcome and value feedback, itâs a huge part of what has helped us build what we have today. But that feedback needs to come from genuine guest experiences, and in this case, you were not a guest and did not stay with us.
Weâre always here to help and clarify things before arrival, but expectations do need to align with what has actually been booked.
All the best,

Amazing little get away, we travelled 4 hours and it was definitely worth it! Canât wait to come back! Calling the pods luxurious feels an understatement! Absolutely spotless on arrival, the communication was second to none. All staff were super friendly and helpful, a particular shout out to Andy the site manager who was so friendly, down to earth and helpful
FAB PLACE
Had the best few days staying in the Glen. Was just what was needed some quiet time. My son absolutely loved the hot tub and the pool/air hockey table. The only bad thing is having to leave. Will definitely be back. One thing would be a good addition not sure if itâs possible but a patio heater as the fire pit is outside and it was a bit cold but we just wrapped up. Thanks for a memorable stay and weâre already looking to come back. What a fantastic place.
We were very much in need for 2 nights away where we can fully shut off and relax which is exactly what we were able to do. Nothing was ever too much trouble for staff on site and they are extremely welcoming, polite and friendly. Everything is very clean and quiet. We will definitely stay again
We stayed here in December and while the setting and accommodation are beautiful, there were some key issues that significantly affected our experience.
The outdoor kitchen was one of the main reasons we booked. However, at around 10.30pm while cooking, the gas ran out completely. Only two of our group were able to eat, and the rest of the food had to be thrown away. We didnât report it until later that night as we already knew there were no staff on-site after 10pm, so there was no expectation of it being resolved at that time â we only messaged so it could be sorted for the morning.
Although the canister was replaced promptly the next day, we were told that the gas supply cannot be guaranteed and that the timing was âunfortunate.â This is concerning, as it means a key facility guests are paying for is not guaranteed to be usable, and this isnât made clear anywhere before booking.
For accommodation that sleeps up to six people, itâs not reasonable that cooking facilities can become unavailable with no backup or alternative. The result for us was wasted food, most of the group going without dinner, and a disrupted evening.
There were also a few smaller details that didnât quite match the âluxuryâ experience. Guests are charged ÂŁ15 to have the hot tub pre-lit, despite the fact it only takes a few minutes to light (with hours needed to heat). We were also asked to begin draining it before checkout, which felt unexpected at this price point.
On arrival, we were offered a glass of prosecco, which is a nice idea, but itâs given while youâre managing luggage, so you either have to drink it quickly or carry it with you and your luggage â it would be a nicer touch to have this waiting in the cabin.
Overall, itâs a lovely setting, but the experience is let down by a lack of reliability and transparency around key facilities. Future guests should be aware that the outdoor kitchen gas supply isnât guaranteed, and if it runs out after 10pm there is no support available.
Incredible!!
Weâve just got back from our glamping stay and honestly it was so lovely đ„ș Everything was just done so nicely â really clean, cosy and just felt super chilled from the moment we got there. It had that perfect mix of being outdoors but still really comfortable (the bed was unreal as well). It was exactly what we needed to switch off for a bit. Just quiet, fresh air, no stress⊠we both said how relaxed we felt being there. You can tell a lot of thought has gone into it and it really shows. Already thinking about when we can go back đ€ Would 100% recommend if youâre thinking about booking!
A beautiful retreat!
We stayed at The Wilderness Spa and had an amazing time! There were so many fine details that made this stay wonderful, the private but spacious layout, the mood lighting, the beautiful interior of the Lodge like building. The welcome pack was very useful and made sure we were prepared and knew how to set up the sauna and hot tub. The staff were awesome and the room service cocktails were amazing!
Really enjoyed our stay , outside the lodge was amazing really enjoyed the hot tub sauna and dart board , however on first impressions of the room we wasnât impressed as the room wasnât tidy , cobwebs in multiple places, hairs in the sink, bits of dirt on the floor and mainly on the carpet rug at bottom of bed, skirting pretty dusty too, and no cleaning products a bit of antibacterial spray for the sides wouldâve been nice and maybe a dust pan and brush .
Just for the price we paid just expected it to be clean upon arrival. However they did offer the next day to come and sort out our issues however we didnât see the point as we was leaving the next day .
Overall we had a lovely 1 night stay at âThe Lookoutâ at The Secret Garden Glamping and would return in future to try other rooms.
The site itself is beautiful and very well kept. Arrival and check in was great, with friendly and helpful staff and we also loved the walk with our trolley to our room, with the little added touches along the way.
We chose this particular room over others as it had 2 beds, but I do believe this is one of the first rooms built on the site and is now in need of some upgrades to ensure the âluxuryâ stay as advertised is being met.
Upgrades are definitely required on areas such as the bathroom, bedding/pillows, robes and the outdoor pool table. The beds are also not very long, I am 5â9 and my feet were hanging over the bottom edge!
We also had an issue with setting up the tv, which unfortunately took up the first few hours of us being there (including a 1 hour wait which we were promised someone would be with us to assist - they actually never turned up).
Aside from the few points above, our stay was fantastic and we are looking forward to returning in future!

Have just returned home from what I can only describe as the most magical relaxing 3 night stay at the secret garden . This was a surprise from my partner for my 40th birthday. He told me we were headed to Blackpool so I was highly delighted when we pulled up at the gates here. The trip was a delight from start to finish. We stayed in The Lodge, which was absolutely stunning. Beautiful inside and out. We had the best of both worlds with a fully fitted kitchen inside and and outdoor cooking area with grill and pizza oven. We struck so lucky with the weather as it was so sunny although that really wouldnât have mattered . The staff were friendly and excellent from check in to check out . Our garden had a cold plunge tub, sauna, hot tub , outdoor shower and outdoor tv which was great. We didnât need to leave the site . Inside was so so warm we didnât need the underfloor heating on as it was roasting although we did light the log burner but more just for an aesthetic point as it was so beautiful. Outside was stunning all lit up at night sitting under the stars an the light up birthday sign was a special extra touch. I could not recommend this place enough to anyone looking for a chilled out relaxing trip away. Cannot wait to return here again
Great Stay
Great Lodge. Beautiful decoration and facilities. Staff were super friendly and helpful and nothing was too much trouble. The hot tub and Sauna were a lovely treat. We had a couple of snags with the bathroom sink but this was sorted immediately. My only concern was the sofa bed was extremely uncomfortable and a limited size for 2 people. Overall a great experience and we would return
