Ms. Kimbrough, thank you for taking the time to speak with us regarding this review. You stated that over the weekend the ER consulted over the phone with our physician regarding your care and that our physician agreed to see you in our office, and the ER made this appointment. You stated you were upset that he said he would see you if you didn't have the benefits to see us. Our office spoke with you twice on Monday, the day before your appointment, and told you that we are not in network with your insurance and that your individual plan does not have any out of network benefits. We stated we can see you and would see you if that is what you would like, but this would leave you with a bill due to not having out of network benefits. We were trying to help you be informed and make the best decision for yourself. Your reason to be seen was to evaluate to see if you needed surgery. The physician, when he agreed to see you would not have known that you have zero out of network benefits. That cannot be found until the office is open Monday and we can check your individual benefits with your insurance company. Patients have different plans with the same insurance company, some have out of network benefits, and some do not. He had no way of knowing this on the weekend when the ER called him. When our staff told you this prior to your appointment, we were trying to provide you with the information necessary for you to make an informed decision, which ultimately you decided to go through with your visit. Our physician acted in your interest by agreeing to see you. He saw you, evaluated you and thankfully determined you did not need surgery. He told you, had you needed surgery, that you do not have out of network benefits and that us providing surgery would not be in your best interest. Again, this was to inform you and help you make the best decision for yourself given the correct information. We do not understand why you are categorizing our physician as dishonorable and lying. We are sincerely sorry that we did meet your expectations. We strive very hard to always do what is right by and for each patient.

Ms. Chisolm, we sincerely apologize you had a poor experience. That is not the normal experience with our office. We see you were seen in August of last year. If you ever have a bad experience, please ask to speak with our office administrator. He makes sure concerns are handled immediately and with professionalism. We went ahead and refunded your $75 back to the card on file this morning. Please do not hesitate to reach out to our office administrator in the future.
