It has been an absolute pleasure to have The mortgage lodge as my mortgage advisor. I was originally working with a mortgage advisor from one of the biggest firms in the country but was told they could not continue with my case due to a perceived "issue" with how my deposit was obtained. I tried explaining the "issue" with ample evidence but unfortunately didn't get a listening ear. I however was reffered to The mortgage Lodge and specifically to Inna. She patiently listened, did her investigations, saw that there were no issues with my account, and then took up my case. The mortgage and insurance application processes were so fast and hitchless. David Meredith was amazing to work with — super easy to get hold of on WhatsApp and email, and he made the whole mortgage process feel really simple. What’s normally a stressful job was honestly a breeze thanks to him. He kept everything clear, quick, and stress-free. Couldn’t recommend him enough!
I was first referred to two different mortgage brokers. The first advisor charged £250 and submitted my application late in the day, only for it to be rejected by Halifax the next morning. The second advisor lodged an application with Nationwide, but after more than three months, he informed me he could not proceed. Due to their delays and poor guidance, I lost valuable time and the property.
I then found David Meredith from The Mortgage Lodge through Facebook, and the experience changed entirely. He reviewed my case in detail, completed proper due diligence, and even discussed the application with an underwriter beforehand. He submitted the application for the same property the previous two advisers had worked on — and within around three weeks, I received a mortgage offer.
Unfortunately, the purchase fell through by only a few days due to the earlier delays. When I found a new property, David immediately arranged for the mortgage to be switched. After providing updated payslips and bank statements, the valuation was instructed promptly, and the new mortgage was approved within a week.
David deferred his fee until the new application received its offer, demonstrating a genuine client-focused approach. He was consistently responsive, kept me updated, and showed great professionalism throughout a process that took several months due to circumstances beyond his control.
