We had the best stay at the piggery! It was honestly perfect. We had a drink in the beautiful pub first by a lovely fire to start and then checked into our room which felt even better than the photos. The bedding was very luxurious and comfortable. The decor was very luxe but also had some fun quirky pig themes. The bathroom was lovely too and great shower. There was also fresh milk, juice and granola which was a lovely touch. Elizabeth was so responsive and friendly, she went above and beyond and we are very grateful! We also had a lovely dinner in the pub which had great atmosphere and amazing food. We were so pleased we stayed here for our trip to bath
Had the most wonderful time staying at The Piggery to celebrate my boyfriend’s birthday! Elizabeth was very responsive and friendly. Overall a gorgeous little AirBnB, conveniently next to a pub with the most amazing food. Would absolutely recommend staying here, and checking out the breakfast spots they recommend nearby too.

We had a fabulous stay at The Piggery, the room is generously sized, the bed is really comfortable and the bathroom is spotless with a great large shower. Lovely touch to have breakfast available. The pub next door does incredible food and the surroundings are beautiful. Would not hesitate to recommend!

There’s a Sunday lunch and then there’s the Longs Sunday lunch….took the kidadults out for a birthday treat to our absolute favourite local. Take a Sunday roast and dial the quality up to 11-care, thought, quality and perfection in every sight & bite. Rob & Liz have spent many years now pouring their hearts & souls into making the Longs a feast for the eyes, stomachs & souls of anyone who walks through the door and there are no signs that their passion for the place & the food & drinks has waned over many years. The food-roast beef rarely(!) gets cooked better-loved the touches like the crispy kale in the Yorkshire pud. Always a good sign when you’re ravenous and then instantly slow right down after the first bite to savour every bite and the table goes quiet (doesn’t happen with our lot very often) as the experience is shared. Not the cheapest Sunday roast, but worth every penny. It’s a destination pub for a host of very good reasons

The Longs Arms in South Wraxhall is everything a good pub should be: friendly staff, great beers and wines, a real fire, and exceptional food.
The menu is well balanced — you can just have a couple of snacks and a main, or go for all three courses.
This visit was a chance to catch up with a good friend and to return to Rob (chef-owner and cellar man) to try more of his food.
We had three courses.
Fresh warm bread and excellent butter is served to every table.
For starters, I had the Newlyn crab, salmorejo, our tomatoes, olive oil, jalapeño — fresh picked white crab meat, a rich tomato base, and just a touch of heat. A classic. My friend had the Pembrokeshire lobster, ajo blanco, pickled pear, toasted almonds, basil.
For mains, I was planning to order the calves liver, butter mash, swede, pancetta, onion and pine nut gravy, but my friend got there first. I went for the Highland venison loin, venison pie, potato terrine, red cabbage, English corn, quince, Stornoway black pudding gravy — and it didn’t disappoint. The venison was perfectly cooked and well-balanced with the pie and seasonal blackberry. The calves liver was also spot on.
For dessert, I had the Muscovado tart, which was the perfect way to end the meal. My friend had the pear and almond tart.
Portions were generous and three courses felt like great value for money.
I’ll definitely be back — next time I want to try the Wagyu beef burger, cheese, pickle, spicy tomato relish, served in a brioche bun with fries.
