My personal experience with this firm was less than ideal, and based on that experience, I would recommend them primarily for uncontested divorces rather than cases that may require more extensive communication, preparation, or ongoing legal support.
Throughout my case, communication was one of my biggest concerns. The paralegal assigned to my case appeared unfamiliar with certain aspects of the divorce process and was often unable to provide direct answers to my questions. Email responses were frequently delayed or, at times, nonexistent unless I followed up multiple times. On more than one occasion, I ultimately contacted the Birmingham office because I was having difficulty getting a response regarding my case.
I also felt that preparation for important matters was often handled at the last minute, which left me questioning whether my case was receiving the level of attention and preparation I expected. Unfortunately, that lack of communication has continued with post-divorce matters, as I have had significant difficulty receiving responses or assistance.
Considering that I paid thousands of dollars in legal fees, I am extremely disappointed with the level of communication, responsiveness, and overall client service I received. I have previously worked with another family law firm in the area and did not experience these same communication issues, so I know my expectations were not unreasonable.
Based solely on my personal experience, I would consider this firm for a straightforward, uncontested divorce. However, if your situation is contested, complicated, or you anticipate needing consistent communication and guidance throughout the process, I would recommend carefully considering your options before choosing representation.
I had a very good experience with the Harris firm Montgomery for handling my divorce case.I really appreciate and thank them for all their effort.The entire process was handled professionally .

Virginia is extremely rude and unhelpful. If that's who they have as the first point of contact for this place, I'd definitely advise against using them for anything legal.

I went through a divorce from a marriage of 35 years. I received custody of my daughter and property. Ms. Beach was my contact for the Firm, she was very patient with my questions. She contacted me back very quickly with questions that I had and kept me in the know of what would happen and how things were progressing. It was a very tough time for me but I do appreciate her help and the time she took to lead me though all the pit falls you have with Jefferson County I know it was her job but she was also very personable with me and my 200 questions. There are a ton of law firms so I think the only thing besides price that make them stand out is their customer service. I would absolutely suggest them to someone and use them should I need anything again.

The Harris Firm was great in my divorce. If you’re getting an uncontested divorce, it’s a very simple process. They are quick with your paperwork. The longest part is waiting for the judge to sign off. Highly recommend to anyone.
