We recently had The Good Electrical Company install a solar and battery system at our home, and I couldn’t recommend them highly enough.
Oli, who was the main person looking after the installation, was fantastic from start to finish. Communication was excellent throughout, and he was incredibly knowledgeable and professional. He took the time to explain why certain things were being done, rather than just getting on with the job, which gave us a lot of confidence in the whole installation.
The workmanship was excellent, everything was done really neatly, and the team cleaned up properly when they finished.
The paperwork and documentation provided afterwards was also exceptional — honestly, it was the best I have ever seen from any company that has worked on our house. Everything was incredibly detailed, clear and professional.
Oli and the whole team were a pleasure to deal with. A genuinely excellent company from start to finish, and I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending them.
Had a Tesla Powerwall 3 solar battery installed alongside 16 solar panels. Before quoting, Oliver came out and measured the roof and discussed the various options. Following this first visit, Oliver answered all my questions in a clear manner. There were no attempts to be salesy, which was appreciated. The install took 4 days and the team were friendly, efficient and took care with the property. Scaffolding was up for 8 days. We ended up with a quality, very tidy install with everything working as it should. Would highly recommend.
I went with these guys after they did a really good job installing an EV charger a few years ago. They were absolutely brilliant throughout the whole process, they are very knowledgeable about what to install and were able to answer any complex technical questions I had. They were also able to install an additional 4 panels compared to other local installers, due to the high quality mounting system they use. The installation itself is brilliant and you can tell how much pride they take in their work. I can't recommend them enough!

Fantastic service. I spent over 6 months researching solar products and companies, and looked no further after meeting Oliver of The Good Electrical Company. The market is crowded right now yet very few suppliers truly understand the technology and how best to apply it to individual circumstances. Most companies are roofers rather than qualified electricians. I have a technical background so was very frustrated with the non-scientific salesmen who take up hours of my time on site visits (“free survey” as they call it !)
Oliver took the time to fully understand my needs, explain the solutions and dispel the myths around solar, all the time remaining responsive in subsequent calls and messages. Installation was on time and to high standards, with the company going beyond their remit to improve my experience. All this for a competitive price too.
As a result, I’m very pleased with the product and the knowledge that the warranty will be fully honoured.

Oliver and his team provide a terrific service from beginning to end. We had 20 solar panels installed in a difficult location and the whole team worked extremely hard to complete the job. Working for 12 hours straight on two of the hottest days recorded in May. (4-days to complete the work) Excellent follow up and support. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.
We had rooftop PV + battery installed by Good Electrical Company, and the entire experience was great. Oliver goes the extra mile for his customers, and he is incredibly knowledgeable. The work they did is stunning, neat as a pin, and everything works seamlessly one month on. They put extra effort into the installation to make it last, e.g., a special attachment method for clay tiles (other installers didn't understand the failure mode or even the difference between clay and concrete tiles). The quote was competitive, but the level of service and workmanship was a level above. I have experience with mediocre installers (e.g., Swift did our ASHP and EV charger last year that just don't work well); it is easy to fall into traps with new technologies. Thanks to The Good Energy Company, I dodged one such bullet: A few other installers (and Google AI) recommended GivEnergy kit despite GivEnergy being on the brink of collapse and their kit at risk of being bricked. Oliver, having insider's knowledge, talked me out of it. GivEnergy went bust. It really pays off to have a good installer on your side. PV+battery is the best investment you can make right now (providing that you choose the right installer). I highly recommend The Good Electrical Company.

This company was recommended to me by a colleague when I was considering solar panels after they had used them at their house. It was a great recommendation! From first contact with Oliver and the team I had confidence in the information being provided. Unlike the other quotes I had from big nationwide installers Oliver came out to survey the house and measure before providing the quote. This meant he was able to install more panels than the other quotes I had.
Through the quoting period Oliver was always happy to discuss all my questions and there was never any pressure, he was also really helpful in providing advice and discussing options in reference to the other quotes I had and I definitely ended up with a better solution as a result.
Even after deciding to go ahead Oliver was still thinking about the solution and was able to fit bigger panels on.
The work itself was to a very high quality. It was all very neat and tidy with regular updates.

Had a Powerwall 3 installed by Oliver and his team. They did an excellent job from start to finish. Good planning and installation meant that it was a very tidy install, even plumbing in a string of 5 existing solar panels and fixing an existing EV electrical issue, along the way. The team's expertise and knowledge meant that they were able to navigate some quirks with Tesla smoothly and efficiently.
I am very pleased with the resultant system, which has already saved us £100 from our monthly bill (even before the sun has started to shine!). Can definitely recommend the professional team at The Good Electrical Company.

The installation was seamless but it was the long and detailed conversations I had with Oliver before that were most appropriated. He was patient and understanding of the fact that investing in solar can feel like a big decision. Oliver, Sam and the team at The Good Electrical Company are absolutely first rate and I can easily recommend them to anyone looking for a solar install.
The team recently installed an 11 panel system + Powerwall 3 for me and they impressed at every step.
At the initial visit to site Oliver was up on the roof (3 storey house) within the first 5 minutes measuring up which removed all ambiguity about what would work. GEC were the only prospective installer to do this, everyone else I spoke to relied on online sizing tools which resulted in loads of variation in designs. Oliver walked me through what he'd recommend for the design, providing reasons for everything and answered all my questions (of which there were many). Even after the first site visit, he responded quickly to my emails and amended the design as I asked, again providing recommendations and explaining everything.
After locking in the install date we communicated by email and whatsapp which made things really easy and convenient, and when a slot openned up they were even able to bring things forward a bit.
Once the install started the team were super polite and helpful (even taking their shoes off every time they stepped inside the house). They worked quietly without any real disruption to me (I work from home) and got everything done neatly and to my eyes to a real high standard.
Early on during the install they decided that routing some of the cabling differently to how we'd originally agreed would work better for me in the long run and, after discussing it with me, did all the extra work at their own cost which was massively impressive.
The only hiccup we had was a dead-on-arrival part which the guys organized a replacement for straight away and again communicated regularly with me on to ensure I was up to date with it's arrival.
Overall I've been left with a solar and storage system that I'm extremely pleased with and a faultless design and installation experience. I don't often write online reviews but I'm very pleased to do so in the case of GEC as they were so good.

From initial enquiry, site visit (cool drone use and only estimate/ site survey we got to actually go in and on the roof!), installation to final delivery, Oliver, Sam and Harvey were exceptionally professional, kept excellent communication and completed the work on time with minimal disruption.
