Booked sunday luch as a carvery here. Pub very busy but nothing too much trouble for the staff. Carvery was fantastic , vaste range of vegetable, huge joits of beef, turckey. pork and Gammon, again served by a chef with a sense of humour. Excellently cooked meal, vast portions and very good value
Nice pub with a friendly atmosphere. A welcoming place on a cold, wet Saturday evening. Seems popular, quite busy. We didn't eat but might try next time we're passing through.

Enquired online to make a booking and was left a voicemail to call back to be offered two other times Called back to be told theres no space at all Pretty rubbish system if the staff arent able to stick to the same story

Great food! Great Atmosphere!
Popped in for an evening meal during a weekend stay in Matlock Bath. We both had the Chicken Schnitzel, which came with hand cut fries & and a delicious bowl of slaw. The whole meal was fantastic and very reasonably priced. Decent range of beers on tap which, again weren't too expensive. We visited on a Friday and the pub was very crowded, so would strongly advise booking a table at weekends. Looking forward to popping back to try one of the Sunday carveries in the near future.

Great during a busy time
Visited on a Sunday lunchtime when it was heaving. Staff were terrific. Maintained a sense of humour despite pressure. Fortunately we had booked a table, a real recommendation, food was great as was selection of beers. Certainly recommend for a family visit. Dogs and well behaved kids accommodated.

Fantasic food, a must visit!!!
One of the best Carvery's I've ever had!! Fantastic selection of meats, trimmings and sauces, if I was being really picky just 2 negatives, roasties and stuffing underdone for my liking, just a personal preference, but we will definately be back, pre-booking is a must, it was really busy, staff were very friendly and helpful.

When my husband and I got engaged I knew there was only one place where I wanted the reception.. The Fishpond.
We were introduced to Liley our wedding planner who really was the brains behind the operation of the wedding day. Liley is so lovely and also helped us make sure our day would flow nicely and make sure we had the best day ever! Which we did!
Like everything in life some things don’t go to plan, like the storm that happened during our wedding day so we weren’t able to do some of the things we wanted to, eg. Confetti toss. However this did not ruin our day and we were so grateful we booked the ballroom and the raft so our guests had enough room while we waited for the rain to pass.
We chose the hog roast for our wedding breakfast which was honestly one of our best decisions, it was delicious! Our guests commented on how much they enjoyed the food and how it suited us as a couple.
In the evening we had the traditional buffet which we also enjoyed!
I’d like to thank all the staff at the fishpond that helped make our day run smoothly and made our day extra special!
The fishpond is a gorgeous pub with an equally impressive ballroom. I’m so happy we had our reception here and would recommend to any couple looking for a wedding reception!
