I had a lovely time at the Engel Inn.If you can remember B&B's before AirBnB, well this place is like that.It's cosy, charming and you have a sense that the property is also someone's home. You can hear kids in the distance and a gaggle of geese roaming the backyard.There are lots of helpful instructions and signs to help you feel right at home and to answer the kind of questions that will arise. I wanted for nothing during my stay and wow - breakfast was copious and perfect to fuel up before a day on Snow Mountain. And for coffee addicts their 24 hour free coffee station was most welcome.I had a very nice stay and I'm pretty sure you will too.
My husband and I had a great stay and the Engel house! We greatly enjoyed the comfortable bed, continental style breakfast (with yummy muffins), a front porch to sit on, and the many other wonderful details put into our room and the house. We would have loved to stay longer at the house, and hopefully will be able to do that another trip!
Super accommodating, great location right in town, cute/comfy rooms full of everything you need, beautiful old building, continental breakfast. Perfect place to stop during the Super 8 bikepacking race
We so enjoyed our stay at The Engel House. We usually stay with family while visiting the area but fir this trip, wanted to try something different. This house reminds me so much of the house I was raised in. We loved everything about our stay here, especially the sitting room and rockers on the front porch.

Liz was very nice, and she communicated well with us, especially when we parked in the wrong area. We really loved the house and the colonial style decorations. The room was warm and cozy during a cold and windy snow storm. The house is on a main road and we heard many plows pass by, but we were aware this is something thar often happens in wintery Vermont.
Incredible place to stay. Management was very hospitable, the room was so comfortable and the location was perfect. We were looking for a quiet and relaxing place to stay close to dining and skiing. Engle House certainly delivered. Waking up to fireplaces and the views of a winter wonderland is exactly what we picture when we think of Vermont. Not only will we stay there again, we’re already in the process of booking it!
This is a great place to stay for a Southern VT vacation. We used it as our base for skiing at Mt. Snow and it worked well. The Inn Keepers were great and did everything they could to make us comfortable, including helping our friends in a difficult situation! We would definitely return.
