I had shortlisted 3 interior designers out of 7 in the final round for my home renovation project. It was Kent from The Designer Scientists who I finally signed up and worked with for my home renovation. Kent is a committed and experienced ID, and a patient listener. Basically I have my own renovation idea and theme. I shared my idea with Kent. He would listen to all the details and then offering his suggestions. He clearly discussed every single details with me to avoid any confusion and misunderstanding. He would explain to me the cost differences and create awareness of the high cost items in my options. We took 3months+ to complete the project. The home renovation by Kent is absolutely outstanding! His expertise have transformed my space into a haven of beauty and functionality. Kent attention to detail and ability to bring out the best in every room is simply remarkable. My home now feels like a reflection of my personality and style, thanks to Kent incredible talent and dedication. I couldn't be happier with the results!

We bought the keys to our resale DBSS in around mid Sep. We wanted to completely gut the place and make it our own so we have to pretty much hack everything except for the living room and bedroom floors. That meant the kitchen, bathrooms, all fixtures, false ceiling, carpentry that was already there. We wanted a modern organic theme eventually but we were flipping prata between many themes at the start. Kent was very patient with us and always had an accommodating attitude. Now I am the kind of person that had my own ideas which I felt quite strong about. Kent was able to let me make some decisions and also gave me alternatives for the ones that could have been something I might regret. He is very responsive and easy to work with. He would respond immediately to our messages and always eager to call us to explain. His pricing is at the standard range so he is definitely not on the cheap side. However we can prove he is good for value, he kept his promises and delivered. So you are not going to take risks signing him up. In fact, we had the whole place almost done and we moved in about 2 months from the start (early Dec)! Anyways, we had to move in then because our previous lease was ending so it was important that he delivered the keys to us. Of course we had to do some touchups and that went on sporadically for the next few months. Throughout it, he was still very responsive and responsible even after handing the keys to us and getting the full payment. I doubt many IDs would still do that after getting the full payment. He also gives us a one year warranty so that is good to know. We got what we wanted (pretty much exactly) and we managed to create a lot of space and storage. There was a lot of elements in the place that we had to design around such as the HDB pipes, etc. and Kent was able to do a great job at that. From workmanship perspective, his carpentry vendor is good. Paint, false ceiling, aircon, etc. all was good as well. We had some minor hiccups with plumbing and electrical but all were easily resolved. One good thing is that Kent pretty much managed the entire renovation and we only had to go onsite to make some decisions a few times near the end. Really helps when we are both working parents with kids in primary school. Kent is a stand up guy, humble, honest, accommodating, easy going and listens well. He is always keen to clarify things, quick to update us and demonstrated transparency in his work, pricing and issues. Definitely worth the investment with him. Presents very little risk, it's not on the low side but you get a hassle free, hands off, trustworthy experience. For something as big as a home Reno, I would call that priceless. All in all, we are happy with the outcome and we sincerely thank Kent for being professional, responsive, responsible and honest which all speaks through his work, not his mouth. A humble and easy going guy, I would highly recommend The Design Scientists under Kent's charge.

My wife and I are very delighted with our decision to engage Kent from Design Scientist for our dream house renovation. After an extensive 6-month search for the right interior designer, taking that leap of faith with Kent turned out to be the best decision we made. From the initial stages of planning and quotation to the meticulous execution of the 3D drawings and actual renovation work, Kent's approach was nothing short of exceptional. For other miscellaneous areas such as cleanliness of our renovation site, ensuring proper disposal of debris, and timely transportation and storage of materials also further highlight Kent commitment and his dedication to a seamless renovation experience. A standout moment was during our overseas wedding shoot when he went the extra mile during the weekends to volunteer to assist us with moving items into your flat speaks volumes and demonstrated his dedication and reliability to us. Overall, Kent not only met but surpassed our expectations, playing an integral role in turning our house into our dream home. His expertise, collaborative spirit, and commitment ensured a hassle-free and immensely gratifying renovation journey. We're immensely grateful for the peace of mind he brought throughout the process.

On behalf of my family, I would like to express our appreciation for such astonishing artistry of interior deco completed by Kent on our home. All of my family members loved how Kent has the ability to transform our vision into reality. We do not like the typical traditional approach to interior design where the whole house decor flow to a complementary theme. We do not care about mainstream trends. We believe in the importance of embracing individuality, personality, authenticity, and freedom of expression and have that translated into unique living spaces to reflect the occupants' personalities in the interior designs. Out of 40 interior designers from a few dozen interior designing companies that we have approached, Kent Heng stood out the best. His approach to his craft gel with ours in that he is extremely open for us to fully embrace our creativities and self-expression. This is very vital to us as such alignment of vision and chemistry ensures a successful collaboration. He took the time to get to know us, listened patiently to our vision, and spent ample time going through our new "house" and turning it into our "home". Kent displayed a high degree of integrity, dedication, an abundance of knowledge, and creativity in his field. He was extremely attentive, generous with his time, and went the extra mile to find the pieces that would perfectly complete our home. We deliberately waited for one full year before sharing our review about Kent with the intention of seeing if the material quality.... could stand the test of time. Our neighbor, on the other hand, had to vacate their home three times because of poor job workmanship done on their piping (kitchen), tiles (living room), and waterproofing (shower room) by their interior designer. A living nightmare that I do not wish to experience at all. In my opinion, a home should be all in order and delivered up to my expectation once the renovation is completed. And it did! We never experienced any issues at all thus far. I am relieved that Kent ensures his suppliers are well-vetted and only collaborates with trustworthy suppliers to deliver the best to his clients. Once again, we would like to thank Kent for all of the good work that he has done for us and I will definitely recommend him to anyone who needs a "good eye for interior designing".

This super late post is not enough to justify what YB Kent had did for us. Super reliable, super responsive, super responsible. YB Kent have a vast knowledge of interior design. He also have an incredible dynamic team to make it happen. We sourced out about 10 Interior Designers, met them and asked for quotations. We chose YB Kent. The first meeting with YB Kent, we both know deep down, that we are gonna choose him but we don’t want to make a hasty decision, since we saw and heard a lot of rogue IDs who went MIA before completing the renovations. So we still kept looking at other interior design companies. After the second meeting with our shortlisted of IDs, we went ahead with YB Kent. And boy, both of us made the best decision ever in choosing The Design Scientist. So a huge THANK YOU to YB Kent from The Design Scientist and his team for making our dream home come true. He knows what’s nots and what’s good. He will explain why he wouldn’t recommend and why he will recommend. Never once did he disappoint us. Even after the completion of the renovation, he superbly attend to our requests to a few minor touch ups.
