Just completed the 2 day DIY home maintenance course. Highly recommend the BTC. Learnt so much from Pete who was a great tutor and it was a great group. Now considering what other courses I can do. I recently completed a tiling course with The BTC as a DIY novice and I am so happy I did. I learnt a new skill and am confident to apply it to my home projects. There was a lot of hands of experience and the tutor, Pete, was knowledgeable, approachable and on hand for all my many queries. It was a fun week too. Also, shout out to the admin staff, Matt in particular, for all the support from start to finish.

Excellent Training Centre with Amazing Staff & Professional Teaching Excellent experience from beginning to end. I joined the tiling and plastering training course in February, and I’m genuinely very happy with everything I learned there. The trainers and staff were incredibly professional, respectful, and supportive. Their customer service was outstanding, and they always made sure everyone felt comfortable and encouraged during the course. The teaching quality was excellent, and the practical training was very useful and easy to follow. You can really tell that they care about helping students learn properly and gain confidence. A big thank you to the whole team — definitely one of the best training experiences I’ve had, and I would highly recommend them to anyone interested in building and trade courses.

The teaching quality was excellent, and the practical training was very useful and easy to follow. You can really tell that they care about helping students learn properly and gain confidence.

Brilliant tiling foundation course with Pete. First of 4 splitter courses for me. This was the first time I'd been to a place like this for training, so I was a little apprehensive at first. I need not have been as the guys make you feel relaxed from the get go and you settle in and get started straight away. Loved the tiling course and I'm happy to have a go at home now. Looking forward my next course, it's great to be learning again, next one is plumbing.

I recently completed the Foundation Tiling Course at the Builders Training Centre, and I very much recommend it. I started the course with zero confidence, but over the two weekends, that completely changed. The training gave me both the competence and the confidence to start tiling on my own. The course was extremely well run, and the team were fantastic, so supportive, knowledgeable, and always willing to help. They created a really encouraging environment where no question felt too small. I’m now genuinely excited to get started on my own home project, and even more excited to sign up for my next course. In terms of value, the course more than pays for itself. You’ll easily make the cost back, and then some, just by completing your first room at home instead of hiring someone. A brilliant experience all round.

Brilliant place. I did the 2 day home maintenance course and it was really good - covered so much in 2 days inc lots of practical exercises - and tutor happy to answer any Qs and look at specific problems people wanted advice on as well. The course was really well structured and the tutor was really friendly, extremely knowledgable and approachable. The other courses looked great too - lots of facilities and other staff really personable as well. Very diverse place - not intimidating for someone like me who had very little practical knowledge before I went there. Would not hesitate to book another longer course if I had the chance.

Fantastic training experience! Five stars isn’t enough The tutors were incredibly knowledgeable, and every course I attended exceeded my expectations. The sessions were well-organized and delivered in a way that made even complex topics easy to understand. I honestly couldn’t find a single fault throughout my experience. Plumbing and Bricklaying I did a splitter 4 day weekend course and 5 day bricklaying course in between, and I must say you can really learn alot in these short courses then spending 2 years at a college learning 1 subject. I will be definitely coming back to learn some more courses.

Disappointing and poorly structured course The 4-day electrical foundation course left me thoroughly disappointed. While it covers a lot of theory, regulations, and calculations essential for rewiring or similar tasks, it’s far too complex and rushed for a beginners' course. The practical side was frustrating due to worn-out tools and materials—like side cutters that couldn’t strip cables and terminals too damaged for proper connections. Even testing became pointless, as the faulty equipment confused the instructor. Additionally, the lack of engagement from the instructor and the poor structure of the course made learning nearly impossible. At £395, this course didn’t add much to my electrical knowledge; honestly, watching quality YouTube tutorials would be a better investment.

The Electrical Foundation Course is designed as an intensive programme, covering key theory, regulations, and calculations required for those looking to progress into electrical work and further qualifications. Given the amount of content delivered over four days, the pace is necessarily fast, and we always recommend that learners review the course outline and pre-reading materials sent in advance to ensure the course matches their expectations and learning style.

All tools, materials, and testing equipment are checked regularly to ensure they meet training and safety standards. While we appreciate your comments, this is not representative of the usual experience reported by our learners; however, we will look into this.

Our instructors follow a structured syllabus aligned with current regulations and aim to support learners throughout the course. As with any technical training, individual outcomes can vary depending on prior experience, engagement, and expectations.

We understand that this course may not be the right fit for everyone, and we value all constructive feedback as we continue to refine and improve our training provision.
