Perfect, easy, exciting
The African Wild organized the best Safari vacation for me. It included Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe & Zambia, The Okavango Delta in Botswana. Every detail was perfect, not a glitch. Each camp was unique and interesting. Great experience. As a solo traveler, I highly recommend The African Wild for organized travel.

We had a fantastic time on our honeymoon. Rory was amazing in organising what we wanted to do and didn’t just create the standard type of holiday, it was full of adventure and exactly what we asked for. We managed to see all the animals that we wanted to see but also meet some amazing people. Rory constantly checked in on us throughout and made sure we got everything we needed. I would highly recommend.
This was just fantastic. There are so many offers out there for Okavango safaris and we found it hard to figure out what‘s best. The African Wild was just amazing — from start to finish. Zambian Safari
The Zambian adventure we had involved South Luangwa National Park and Lower Zambezi National Park and it’s safe to say it was an absolutely spectacular experience. We saw tons of gorgeous wildlife, met lovely people, and saw nothing but stunning nature. Our experience was nothing short of incredible, feet away from lions and elephants yet feeling nothing but secure thanks to the wonderful guides. Our stays in each and every location were comfortable and pleasant-everyone was beyond welcoming, going above and beyond tomake us feel at home. We were able to learn so much Zambian culture and see so many things we would not otherwise see. Overall, it was an absolutely lovely experience with no complaints whatsoever. We can’t wait to be back!
My Botswana Soul Safari connected my deepest being with the wild beauty of a peaceful and whole land. The combination of Sarah Devlin’s photography insights and the gentle and wise guidance of Robyn Sheldon brought me to a stillness where the connection to nature was palpable, real, and undeniable and the photos became part of the flow. Once I was in that peaceful stillness, beautiful animals, birds, and landscapes emerged, or perhaps it was because I could see and understand from the perspective that all is one and complete as is. All of us quickly bonded and supported one another, a bonus I wasn’t expecting. I traveled home with that deep peace and stillness which brings a calmness to the madness on the surface of our lives. As Lao Tzu said, “Nature does not hurry, yet everything is accomplished.” I would say, being one with the heartbeat of nature is our individual and collective salvation.

flawless coordination
My wife & I had a recent 12 day custom safari to Botswana. The trip was organized by Rory Sheldon who did a remarkable job. He had a conversation with us regarding timeframe/budget etc and put together a trip which met all our expectations and more. The coordination was flawless. I would rate this trip as even better than a custom trip we went on 8 years ago to Tanzania organized through an international well recognized luxury travel agency.I would have no hesitation in recommending Rory as a resource to help coordinate a trip to this part of the world.
Magical family adventure
We could not have had a more incredible trip to Botswana! We are a family with 2 kids and Rory was recommended to us as someone who could put together a tailor made adventure which would cater for everyone’s individual needs. His knowledge of the Okavango and the lodges within it along with mobile safari companies meant he was able to talk us through all the options available in detail then fine tune what would work best for us. Being a group which spanned an age range from 6 to 55 this could have been quite a task but Rory’s intimate knowledge of the locations and his relationships with the companies used meant it was perfect for everyone. In both the lodge and on the mobile safari Rory booked for us the staff went out of their way to make it special for the kids. They were immediately hooked at spotting animals and seeing them so close up meant they could learn so much and always had a thousand questions for the wonderful guides! All the staff were incredibly adaptable and always made sure food choices and timings would work for us. They were so friendly and offered the kids lovely activities and challenges to do within the lodge and on the mobile safari creating a truly magical atmosphere for us all. Thank you Rory for everything you did to create an unforgettable 2 weeks in Botswana!
What an incredible holiday we had, created by Rory at The African Wild. It was totally unique, made specifically for us and what we wanted. The knowledge and contacts that Rory had made for a truly special holiday, where nothing was a problem, and our experience of Botswana was absolutely magical. We saw more animals than I thought was possible to see, and at such close quarters too. The places we stayed were so special and we felt thoroughly well looked after. I couldn't recommend The African Wild highly enough and if you're visiting Botswana, this is the way to do it!
The most incredible experience!
We travelled as a family of 6 from the UK for a big birthday celebratory trip, meeting up with 2 cousins in Botswana as part of our holiday. From day 1 Rory was incredibly helpful, listening carefully to everything we wanted to do, and creating a completely unique itinerary for us. There were various logistics involved which all worked incredibly smoothly - transfers between airports and hotels and camps were seamless, and the places we stayed were just amazing - honestly the stuff of dreams - we felt we were on a film set sometimes! The Okavango Delta was full of animals and we saw so many of them at very close quarters. We camped in the park, listening to hippos and lions at night. We drove across lots of different terrains, and had sundowner drinks with elephants close by. Everyone we were hosted by was extremely kind, welcoming, friendly and knowledgeable. Rory was always on hand and we felt completely looked after - he had such excellent recommendations and his contacts and knowledge made our experience truly magical. I would not hesitate to recommend the African Wild to anyone wanting to visit Botswana.

Botswana Magic
I'm very happy with the service provided by The African Wild. Rory, my travel consultant, put together an awesome itinerary that combined a variety of camps, scenery and game viewing. Having been on safari a few times in several countries, I really wanted someone who knew Botswana in depth, the best areas to go at different times of the year, as well as the pros and cons of the different camp operators. He always responded promptly, answered all my questions, and had the patience to go back and forth until we decided on the ideal itinerary. I have since returned and couldn't have asked for anything more. Thank you Rory and your team at The African Wild.
The African Wild provided us with excellent suggestions about where to go and whom to go with. We had amazing experiences kayaking in the Okavango, going on a "mobile" safari, and staying at a couple of the established Okavango camps. Rory knows who's who around Botswana, and we were highly satisfied with, particularly, our guides. Wonderful experience!
