Bad Experience
I visited Thaba Eco Spa for my birthday and, unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. The massage itself was average — I’ve had far better elsewhere. While I appreciated the complimentary chocolate muffins, they were cleared away while I stepped out to change, without anyone asking if I was finished. This lack of attentiveness left me feeling disregarded, and overall the visit did not meet the standard I expected for a special occasion. Sadly, I doubt I’ll be returning, as the service fell short of creating a memorable or enjoyable experience.
Lovely place and a great spot for a winter evening in Johannesburg. The restaurant was warm and had a really nice vibe, which made for an enjoyable experience.
A special mention to our waiter, Oscar, who was attentive, friendly, and checked in on us throughout the evening.
My only criticism was the food. I ordered the chicken and prawn combo, and unfortunately both the chicken and the prawns were overcooked. The prawns were so overcooked that they were falling apart in the shell, which made them difficult to enjoy. The chicken was also a bit dry from being overcooked.
That said, the sauce served with both the chicken and prawns was absolutely delicious and full of flavour. If the proteins had been cooked a little better, the meal would have been excellent.
Overall, a lovely experience with great service and ambience. I’d definitely come back and hope the food is more consistent next time.

Hidden beauty in nature
From the beautiful spacious rooms,to the wonderful grounds,Thaba Eco is beautiful and value for money. The staff are amazing from reception to the porters. They really make a person feel at home and well taken care of.

Fantastic restaurant. They found out it was my birthday and added an extra treat and finishing touches on the table. The food was great,Palesa the manager and Ntokozo gave exceptional customer service!

☺Its just perfect. The luxury suites are prestine and immensely comfortable and truly luxurious. There is so much to do, you never have the leave Thaba Eco if you booked for the weekend. It perfect for a staycation, because you forget you are still in Johannesburg
