Highlights of Djibouti
We were in January 2025 3 days/2 nights with Omar on the way to Lac Abbe, Lac Assal, the Goda Mountains, Tadjoura, Dikhil...All in all a very, very well organized tour and optimally prepared. Omar is absolutely trustworthy, fair with everything he has promised us. Couldn't have been better. Our Landcruiser was in good condition, Omar's colleague / driver Rahim had the vehicle well under control even in difficult terrain!Omar's contacts as a long-time tour guide are incredible. He knows a lot of people in the country, with whom you then also come into contact yourself. We were warmly welcomed everywhere!Omar is always in a good mood that is infectious. Speaks very good English, has a good general knowledge. The stories about his Afar tribe have brought us closer to his country.For us, the women's cooperative for crafts in Dikhil was a highlight - fair, local products made from sustainable production.Value for money for our tour was absolutely fine.We can fully recommend tours with Omar - we loved it!Tip for tour planning: plan more for one or more days, Djibouti is incredibly diverse!For example, we would rather recommend a night longer at Lac Abbe or trekking in the Goda Mountains.

My husband and I came to Djibouti on a last minute trip, with minimal research and time to prepare, it was essential to find a trusted tour guide. After reaching out to several tour operators, Tata Tours was by far the most responsive and flexible to tailoring a private 1 day tour. Our tour guide, Rashid, was exceptional. He is extremely knowledgeable, impeccable English and truly cares about the guest experience. We were blown away with what we saw. We swam with whale sharks, it was an unbelievable, bucket list experience. Lake Assal is not too far from the whale sharks and worth the trip to see the salt flats and lake. Rashid also included a few other short but very cool spots like hidden canyons with fish, coral reefs, tectonic plates and more! You will not be disappointed choosing Tata Tours for your trip to Djibouti.
