I recently completed the Everest Base Camp trek, and I’m so grateful I chose to do it with Take on Nepal. Our group of 18 women, led by amazing guides Samhjana, Bimaya, Lhak Phuti, and Anil, all reached EBC successfully. It wasn’t by chance or luck that we had a 100% success rate (quite unusual for such a large group, to be honest), it’s because Take on Nepal knows the trek, respects the mountains, has built strong relationships in the community, and genuinely cares for their clients.
There are so many companies who offer the EBC trek, including global companies who care more for profit than they do for the mountains and the Nepali people. Take on Nepal is different; founded by Som (a Nepalese man), TON genuinely invest in their staff and community, and in doing so created an experience so much bigger than just the hike. They provided a real connection to the mountains and Nepali culture and far exceeded my expectations.
I can't wait to do another hike with Take on Nepal in 2026.

Thank you so much for this powerful and thoughtful review — it truly means the world to us.
Your beautiful words about Samhjana, Bimmaya, Lhak Phuti, and Anil will be shared with them — they will be so proud to know how much their leadership, knowledge, and support meant to you all. Our guides carry not just responsibility for safety, but the spirit of the mountains and our culture, and your recognition of that is deeply appreciated.
We are especially touched by your understanding of what makes Take on Nepal different. Being founded by Som and built on strong community relationships, fair employment, and giving back to Nepal is at the heart of everything we do. Knowing you felt that connection to both the mountains and the people is one of the greatest compliments we could receive.
We are honoured to have been part of your Himalayan journey and absolutely love hearing that you are already dreaming of another adventure this year. We cannot wait to welcome you back to Nepal for your next trek.
