We took our kids (ages 3 and 6) to Kim when we moved to Ventura and I'm so grateful that we found her to teach our kids. They were both safe, confident, and enjoying swimming immediately after the initial 4-6 week program. They're now 5 and 8 and progressing beautifully, having only taken her initial course and a few periodic additional sessions as their skills improved, building naturally from her instruction. Kim is able to teach any age and any skill level. In my view, it's best to start kids as early as possible, and if you live in the area she's the one you want.
Thanks to Ms. Kim's program, both of our children have learned the skills necessary to keep themselves safe in the water! Ms. Kim is kind, patient, and truly talented at teaching survival swim lessons. She meets each child where they're at and provides a positive, individualized experience. The progress our children have made at such young ages is amazing. We’re so grateful we found her and can’t recommend this program enough!
Wow. We are so BEYOND grateful for our experience with Kim. Our 4 year-old son slipped through an inner tube in the shallow end of a pool this summer while on our family vacation and sunk straight down. It was a wake-up call for me that he had absolutely NO idea what to do without a flotation device. As soon as we returned home, I set up lessons with Kim. Her demeanor is perfect for children. Our son was immediately at ease with her even though he was still shook up from his recent experience. In just over a month, he now floats, swims, floats and can safely make his way to the edge of the pool. He loves the water and you can see the muscle memory has kicked in with knowing what to do in a pool, especially kicking to swim and floating. We are so grateful to Kim and her process and VERY happy with our experience. Highly recommend her for survival swim!
I found her through a search of survival swim lessons for babies and after reading a few reviews 'I thought seems like a good choice, we can try.' I didn't know much about it or the structure but it seemed like something we should do for our son - especially because he was really afraid of being in the water and even getting his head wet.
Ms. Kim was incredibly nice and my son took to her much faster than we expected. We also didn't feel worried about putting our son in the water in with her, there was just something about her that made us comfortable enough to trust the process. She was so patient with him and never threw him in the water, even when it was time to practice in regular clothes. [Just to note that I saw other programs culminate with a fully clothed-toss into the water and I would have accepted it if that was necessary, wouldn't have been so excited about it, but was relieved that it she didn't need to do that to show that they've learned the skills necessary to float and find the edge.]
My son has made so much improvement in how comfortable he is in the water. It's changed how easy it is to rinse him off when he takes a bath, he will even get in the shower willingly. May not seem like a big deal but he's not afraid anymore which is really important us. He very quickly started to like his swim lessons and had a lot fun grabbing the toys (we could hear him talking Ms. Kim's ear off - he was so comfortable with her).
Watching him swim and float was amazing. I don't know how she teaches them but whatever she did worked.
At first we were unsure because the lessons aren't cheap, but we feel like it was 100% worth it.

Thank you Katrina! It makes me so happy to know that you feel confident in his safety and progress. I believe in teaching essential skills while keeping the fun, even when kids aren't always thrilled. I am so glad to hear that came through in your experience! I look forward to watching him grow in his swim journey!
Survival Swim with Kim is nothing short of miraculous. She is so patient, kind and playful with her students, even the VERY anxious kids like our son. She knew how to challenge him just enough without creating frustration, and the result is a very confident little swimmer. This is absolutely the best investment we’ve made for our son. Thank you, Kim!!

Thank you so much Cynthia! I am so glad to have made a positive impact. It is always so heart warming for me to watch the most anxious kids learn to love the water and move so freely in it! I have loved having you guys this year!
We had a fantastic experience with Kim during my daughter's survival swim classes. From day one, she was patient, encouraging, and incredibly skilled at building trust and confidence in the water. It was amazing to watch my daughter progress so quickly—not only did she learn critical survival techniques, but she also grew more comfortable and self-assured each week. She explained everything clearly, kept the lessons fun, and always made safety the top priority. I would highly recommend Kim!
Both of our children have taken swim with Kim and we cannot recommend her program enough! What started off as hesitancy to put their heads under water quickly gave way to full fledged love for swimming. Our kids looked forward to their lessons every day and that is a huge testament to Kim's approach. Her dedication to our kids and the way she nurtured their learning was special to say the least. Both of our kids now feel confident in the water, and we feel more confident of their safety around pools. Highly recommend!

Thank you so much for your kind words Harben! Your kiddos have been a joy to teach and watch blossom in the water. Happy Swimming!!
Don’t think about it… just sign up you won’t regret it. Kim is amazing! She’s extremely patient and kind with the children and can handle any personality calmly. If you follow the program it works really well and is not harmful to the children. We did the intro daily when my son was two and he cried every time, but regardless learned how to swim underwater, float on his back and find the wall. We are now doing maintenance at 3 years and the growth is incredible to see. The pool water is very warm so it’s fine in any kind of weather. If you want your child safe in water this is the best investment you can make! We are grateful Kim exists!

Thank you for sharing your experience Janice! I love seeing students succeed, and it’s amazing to see progress even when they may not appreciate it yet. Having great parents like you, that stick with it, and offer encouragement, makes all the difference! Can’t wait to see more splash-tastic moments ahead!
Highly recommended! What price can you put on survival!? Ms Kim is true professional and you can see her passion in every lesson! If your infant/toddler has any chance of being near a body of water... Ms Kim's lessons are invaluable!

Ms Kim is a miracle worker! So incredibly grateful for her teaching our son how to be safe in the water. It truly has helped our anxieties with having a pool at home. Excited to bring our other son to her soon!

Thank you! Your review means the world to me! I am so grateful to have families like yours as part of our community. Thank you for your trust!
Kim is great! She is very patient with kiddos, especially when my son started at just 10 months old. It’s definitely tough to give instructions to little ones, especially in the water. I could tell she adjusts to each child’s developmental age and needs.
I never felt my son’s safety was in jeopardy, and he successfully learned how to float by the end of his 6-week lesson! Our family will definitely will be doing private lessons with her again in the future.
Fantastic swim class! Both my 2.5 and 4.5 year old kids are confidently swimming. They both hated putting their faces under water before and now they open their eyes underwater! After the first week and a half the tears stopped in the fun began. I was really concerned that 10 minutes. A day was not going to be enough, but it was just right. I felt like the 10 one direct attention with my children really made the difference. Highly recommend Ms. Kim!

Thank you for trusting me with your kiddos! They were a joy to teach and watch transform into wonderful swimmers.
Kim is amazing and everyone should sign up their little ones with her. She’s so kind and gentle with the kids. Our son always looked forward to swimming class and wouldn’t want to get out. He’s abilities to flip over, float, and swim to stairs/wall are amazing and gives us a sense of peace knowing he can help himself IF something were to happen.
My only recommendation is for the parents, it’s always nice to wait for the appointment before yours to actually leave Kim’s backyard. The extra noise and talking could be distracting to the kiddos and it’s nice to let them fully absorb what’s being taught to them.
