I have been with Supply Desk since about 2010 and have always found the staff very reasonable and helpful. Even at times when many schools seem to be cutting back budgets, I have been offered work, even if at a less frequency. Supply Desk's local infrastructure is rather puzzling, but it seems to work OK.
Supply Desk is an excellent teaching agency that has helped me get back in the classroom after having children. Jen is a great consultant who has guided me from application to first appointment, and checks in with me regularly. This agency is supportive, and there is no pressure to work full time. I have a busy schedule with my family, but Jen has kept me in work for all the days I have requested. Love the flexibility, pays well, and so great to be back in the classroom! Any teachers out there looking for flexible teaching without the pressures of a permanent contract, bringing work home, or late nights in meetings, get in touch with Supply Desk!
Supply Desk teaching agency, and in particular Daniel Parry, who runs the Southampton and South East offices, are highly supportive and professional. They completed my registration, compliance and DBS checks promptly and worked hard to find me the kind of work I was looking for. Daniel was in contact with the schools and myself even during his holidays. He is very driven to achieve the best possible outcome for Supply Desk, but also for the schools and the teachers. I sincerely recommend Supply Desk to any teacher looking for cover or supply work.
Very friendly and extremely professional. Communication is prompt and first class. They find the right job that fits your requirements, not send you blanket emails with lists you might be interested in. They represent you to a school with your interests in mind, negotiating the hours and best daily rate they can. You will NOT be a square peg hammered into a round hole: you will slide smoothly into your job with lots of support and help if required. I am 64 years old and been teaching since 1987. Frankly, Supply Desk and, in particular, Daniel Parry, has been the best recruitment company and consultant I have worked with.
I worked with Supply Desk as a Supply Teacher for a few months and it was great, Daniel Parry really went over and above to help me with everything and clearing questions and requests up, I found my permanent job through them, they are an amazing agency, I would highly recommend and would use it again if I found myself looking for supply work again.
Don't sign up to Brighton and Hove Supply Desk. Pre-Covid19 the recruitment team found me work nearly everyday. For the last 2 years the staff turn over for this agency has been huge. All the team who found me work in the past no longer work for SD. The previous staff understood my experience and teaching strengths. Now I just feel like a number to be placed in a school they can fill. Sending secondary staff into Infants is something SD do.
I’ve had a fantastic experience working with Dennis. From the very beginning, he has been incredibly consistent, reliable, and proactive in finding roles that suited me perfectly. He always took the time to understand what I was looking for and genuinely wanted to find the best opportunities for me—not just any job. His communication was clear and timely.
I had such a positive experience working with Dennis in the Watford branch of Supply Desk. From the start, he was very professional and friendly. He took the time to really learn about my teaching background, my strengths and the kind of school I was looking for. He genuinely listened and made me feel like he had my best interests at heart.
He found me a role that matched everything I’d hoped for – and so quickly too! I'm now starting at a fantastic school and couldn’t be happier. I’m really grateful for his support, professionalism and for making the whole process so positive and straightforward.
Thank you again!
When supply teaching can be such a demanding job, having a supportive team of contacts at the agency is crucial. The current primary team (Summer 2025) at Hove are really nice people, which makes a huge difference! A kind voice on the end of the phone, and someone who genuinely appreciates how hard we work for the schools and children.
As someone new to the UK education system, I was initially overwhelmed by the process of finding the right teaching opportunities. Thankfully, I came across Supply Desk, and I couldn't have asked for a better experience.
From the very first contact, the team was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and supportive. What stood out most was the one-to-one guidance I received throughout. They took the time to understand my background, listen to my concerns, and explain everything clearly—from the application process to classroom expectations in UK schools.
Their knowledge of the system and their genuine care made a huge difference in building my confidence. Thanks to their support, I’ve now started my journey in UK education feeling prepared and positive. I highly recommend Supply Desk to anyone interested in education jobs, especially those new to the UK.
