Hello Ms. Clawson, I have listened to the entire 12 minute phone call you had with our shutter service department. When you called in for service on your 9 year old hurricane shutter, you mentioned that it was working fine, but making an occasional 'clunking' sound. Sandy patiently explained that we would be happy to schedule service but wanted to let you know that we do not carry parts for this shutter in stock due to age, so a same day repair may not be possible. She did let you know that if parts were needed for a repair, they can and would be ordered. At no point were you told that we could not repair your shutter if needed. She advised that we could schedule a service for June and that we would lubricate the shutter and check for any parts that may need replaced. She suggested that if you required an appointment sooner than Mid June, she could recommend another company that could also service your shutter. The original installation was warrantied for 5 years from the date of install and Sandy calmly explained that our standard charge for a service call is $150.00. Regular maintenance is the responsibility of the homeowner and has never been provided free of charge, and due to the age of the shutter the service call charge would apply. At no time did Sandy have an attitude or talk to you in a rude manner, in fact she went out of her way to explain the availability of parts and try to get you scheduled. I’m sorry you feel you could not recommend our company, even though your 9 year old shutter that has been through several major hurricanes, by your own admission is still working fine.
