Fantastic service and install experience
The entire process of getting solar panels, a battery, and an integrated EV charger was outstanding from start to finish. The website was user-friendly and allowed me to customise an online quote easily. After that, Max visited for a detailed survey, and the service remained pressure-free and professional. The installation, handled by their skilled team, was completed within three days with excellent communication throughout. They even replaced a couple of broken roof tiles without hesitation, showing great attention to detail. Post-installation support has been incredibly helpful and responsive. As a local Norfolk company that doesn’t subcontract to other installer, they delivered unmatched quality and care. Highly recommended!

We'd been tempted to get solar for a while but never quite got to arranging it because there always seemed to be something we weren't keen on, like one company giving the quote and then getting another company to do the installation, or being charged a fee just for a quote.
After seeing the good reviews for Square1, we contacted them and they were just a pleasure to deal with from that moment. Max was very friendly and helpful during the (free) quote and happily answered many questions afterwards. When we went ahead the lads that did the panels and battery installation were great, friendly and professional, the scaffolders were a pleasure too. And when the panels and battery were in, Oliver set it all up and was happy to explain how to use it and gave some great after-sales care, which was much appreciated.
Everything was done very quickly and efficiently and we were happy to trust our house and roof to these people who clearly know what they're doing!
A few weeks after installation everything is working well and, because it was fitted in early May, we haven't used any electricity from the grid since installation. Happy days!
If we did decide to expand the system we'd be only too pleased to go back to Square1 to get it done. Thoroughly recommended.

The initial site visit and quote was comprehensive and the advice given helped steer my decision.
I thought the installation would be tricky on a brick and flint frontage but the team have come a very neat job so much so that the wiring is hard to spot!
Once installed commissioning was quick and easy and good advice given on how to maximise the benefits and how to set up an export agreement.
Overalll very pleased and wouldnt hesitate to recommend the Square 1 team!

This is the second solar installation that we have used Sq1 for (the first being ours and this one being my parents). The whole end to end experience with Square1 installations as a supplier and installer has been nothing but a real pleasure. We were introduced to Square1 by a neighbour who had just had an installation completed. It looked so neat, and in the current economic climate grabbed our attention and we got in touch to learn more. We wanted to have peace of mind that the installation company we finally selected to fit our solar panels and EV charger were professional and trustworthy, Square1 certainly ticked those boxes.
From the initial discussion establishing our requirements, to installation followed by after care, we have been very impressed with the service provided.
Having completed a lot of research ourselves, we were in a position to spot that Square1 were highly knowledgeable on all system providers and did not steer us down the road of pushing one brand over another, pointing out the pros and cons of them all. We discussed what we were trying to achieve with Max who gave us plenty of his time to explain how Square1 could fulfil our requirements of a system that ensures we can be as energy self sufficient as possible, future proof ourselves and aesthetically pleasing.
Max explained the whole process from start to finish, what to expect and the timelines. Ollie and his installation team were all very conscientious, friendly and respectful of us and our home, ensuring the job was completed in a timely manner even if that meant working beyond normal working hours. All work by both the solar panel team and the electricians is very neat and tidy.
Following completion, the commissioning of the system was undertaken by Ollie who ensured that everything worked perfectly and that we understood the system. He also explained that he could gain remote oversight of the system should we have any future queries and has since checked in with us to ensure all is well.
We were not looking for a cheap, quick fit, we wanted to ensure quality and longevity which Square1 has provided at a very reasonable price.
I wouldn’t hesitate recommending Square1 to anyone that wants peace of mind that they have selected the best solar power installation team in Norfolk.

So Square 1 ticked far more boxes for us, with this no pressure approach, and also the quality of equipment they use for longevity, being of high importance. Max was still at the end of an email should we have any questions whilst we decided and got the other quotes, which is extraordinary for someone to do who hadn't "won the job" yet. Once we did sign up, the scaffolders came and did a great job, then the installers Aiden and John. In all cases, everyone was so helpful, answered any questions, were very respectful when working on our property, tidy and polite. Then there was Ollie, who came and did the commissioning and explained how it all works. Lastly, Imahl, who helped with the after install work getting the paperwork sorted for our Exporting of spare energy to sell back to the grid. Even in evenings since, we had messages asking if it was all O.K and working as expected and answering any questions we have. In this day, and age, it's not easy to find a Company who is so engaged with their customers, almost to the point of being friends, and it has been a 100% pleasure to work with them. I have no hesitation in recommending Square 1 to anyone wanting solar energy installed. Lastly, when looking at the other quotes, and system equipment offered within them, we feel have got the best equipment based on our internet research. Square1 also happened to be marginally cheaper than the other 2 quotes aswell, even though cost was not something we put down as priority. Getting the system size right, with the right equipment, with the best Customer service from the right Company was our priority and we think we got it. More than 5 stars from us if we could !

I have just had totally stress free installation of solar panels and a battery by Square1 installations.
I was recommended to use this company by two separate households who live on the same road as me, they too have had solar and batteries installed by them.
Max ( the main man) came out to my home and advised me on the best system to suit my needs, just friendly, knowledgeable and helpful with no pressure salesman tactics at all.
I was given regular updates by Max on when the scaffolding would be erected and when the team would be there to install the system.
The Installation team were very friendly and courteous and know their job, they have an eye for detail and completed the work in two days, which was outstanding. They respected my property and cleaned up everything before they left.
The next day, a very knowledgeable Oliver ( the other main man) came to initialise the system without any hitches whatsoever and answer any of my questions which I may have had
Max then kept in touch with me to check I was happy with the way the system was running and help with the various certificates, most of which they sort for you anyway.
I cannot recommend this company enough, its no surprise they have so many five star reviews, The company have been around a while and certainly know their business
I would also like take this opportunity to thank Imahl (the other main man) for all his help with e-mails and all the queries I might have had. .. If you are lucky and he comes to your home, make sure you have biscuits and chocolates, haha!

We did a fair bit of homework and knew what was possible and what we wanted to achieve from the system. Following an on site survey Max came up with a good competitive system but told us to get more quotations. This we did and they varied considerably but along the way we picked up further knowledge. Max and SQ1 tweaked the system to give us, not the cheapest or most expensive, but the most effective solar and battery system that we could reasonably achieve. We are still on a fixed rate Eon deal without any sell back but even in January 2025 we saved approx £30 on our electricity bill.
There was no hard sell and we felt very comfortable dealing with them. Our queries and system changes were always dealt with promptly. The installation team were a friendly and efficient lot despite the cold December weather. Finally, Ollie commissioned the system ensuring we understood how it would work and along with the battery app we could get the best benefit. We know that when we change to a smart tariff they will be on hand to help us with that too.
All-in-all absolutely no reason not to give them the full 5 STARS.

Square 1 installed our solar system just over three years ago. We weren't sure who to pick as one of my concerns was about back up after the installation. We had in mind the times when plastic window companies were popping up ever five minutes then going out of business and any warranty being useless. Two different sets of friends had also told us about their experience going through the council schemes for solar systems and finding they had issues but were unable to get support and struggled to find help in resolving problems.
Anyway, having spoken to a couple of companies we went with Square 1, we liked Max, didn't find him pushy and really seemed to be looking to provide a system that suited our needs not his profits! Following the installation I submitted a very positive review of Square 1.
Three years later we are very happy with our system, it has been doing much better than we envisaged and our utility bill has been reduced drastically.
Recently we noticed that for some unexplained reason every now and again our battery would charge from the grid overnight which is not something we would expect. As a result of this we contacted Max who arranged for us to speak to Oliver (the Tech man!) Oliver went into my account remotely and could see there was an issue. He also took the time to review our system and usage in case any adjustments were required and suggested an additional battery might be appropriate but he would look into that.
Olive went away to investigate the issue with the battery charging unexpectedly and came back to us the same day, he informed us that the battery issue had been resolved and having looked at my system and usage, another battery would not be required. We are also buying a plug in hybrid car shortly and Oliver discussed the best way to use this in conjunction with our car.
There are three things that my experience with Square 1 have shown me, firstly and most importantly they are still there to help with any issues that might arise with my system and work on resolving those issues. Secondly they could have tried to sell me an additional battery but didn't deem it unnecessary so didn't try to sell us one. We're not sure all companies would be so honest!
Lastly they were happy to discuss and advise on the purchase of our car and how to get the best from it in conjunction with the solar system.
Overall we couldn't be happier with the service from Max and Oliver at Square 1, they provided a better than expected system, they only tried to sell us what we actually needed and they continue to provide the support we were was hoping for.
What more could you want from a company, we wouldn't hesitate in recommending this company to friends and family, which we have already done.
