went for afternoon tea, food was great the service from the chap was a little weak, didn't feel he was overly welcome or seasoned hopefully that improves, we spoke with the owner down stairs on the shop counter who was lovely very passionate on her business and products. will look forward to trying again.
Great tour ....our guide James was very inclusive and informative and was able to answer all the questions he received.
The whisky tasting was also gpod with a pack for people driving (£2extra)

I have opened a bottle of Flagship just for this revue as I only received it a week ago. ( I have started Yorkshire Day 2025 , STR Finish and others) It is smoother than others and has a soft mellow taste. The whole range is my 'go-too' not so hidden pleasure. So you are asking an inmate in the asylum of quality whisky.

What an amazing visit. Booked a deep dive tasting session. Wasn’t sure what to expect, but I was really pleased with what followed. A great, interesting and two way experience, where you can learn how they go from field to bottle, with all local ingredients. You have the opportunity to ask as many questions as required and finally test five great Whiskeys. Blown away with the experience and a life long convert to the brand. The shop is excellent and now we know what the various whiskeys taste like and how they are distilled we made some informed purchases. Thank you very much.

Well worth a visit
Great distillery tour of this relatively new whisky distillery in the UK. I'd call it short but sweet, even though you are there for an hour. In terms of process-wise after a short video about how the distillery started and its sustainability outlook you get to see the 2 copper stills used to produce the spirit and where its barrelled, although nothing else as the mash is shipped in and the barrels stored off site, and note the stills aren't always running either. There is the bottling currently done there but you aren't able to get too close to that though. The fact you can get a drivers pack of 3 samples plus a miniature nosing glass to take home at the end is a great idea. I've done a few distillery tours and whilst they're bit of a much of a muchness, because whisky making is relatively standard across the board (in terms of mash in, still process, spirit safe, barrelling), too often as a driver you can't partake at the end, so to get this included in the price was great!We also had lunch afterwards, thankfully we booked because this little cafe was rammed so is evidently popular. Amazing quality products too, nice and fresh, and all the staff seem to multitask between tours, reception, cafe, which makes it feel very family-run.

Grear tour of the distillery, the guide made it very interesting.Tasting ar the end of the tour was good as was the "Driver's Dram", a take away tasting kit for the designated drivers.
Whisky distillery based in an industrial estate whose exterior doesn't do justice to the treasure inside. Fascinating Whisky tour & excellent cafe upstairs.

Having driven over from Whitby hoping to buy a bottle of Whisky, I arrived (on a Saturday afternoon)to be told that there was a 'ticket only' event going on and they would not be open until Tuesday- i said i was wanting to buy a bottle but was turned away!- very frustrating that a new and small business is turning away customers!!

We're sorry that you weren't able to access the shop as you'd intended - it was our annual 'Open Weekend' this weekend, where we welcome nearly 600 people over 2 days. It's always the last weekend in July, with tours, masterclasses, live music and much more. It's a ticketed event as there is lots to enjoy for free once you're inside.
I believe the situation was explained to you when you arrived at the site, and there was the opportunity for you to purchase a ticket to come inside to join the event. The closure was communicated across all of our social media, on our Google opening hours, and the event was listed on the website too.

Visited the pot still coffee shop for my partner's birthday , we pre booked an afternoon tea which I have to say was the best I've ever had, the food was sublime, I am vegetarian and had the most delicious coronation chickpea sandwich, cheese and pickle and a very tasty cheese and tomato quiche, plus lots of mini cakes which we could not finish! Highly recomend!
Filey Bay Flagship has evolved into a great tasting whisky, perfect as an every day drinking dram. This is very different from the early releases of Flagship, i came back to it after a recent tasting & was surprised how good it is now. Rich creamy texture, subtle vanilla & fruity taste, perfectly balanced.

Hi Paul, we love this review. You're quite right, Filey Bay Flagship has always been made using a solera-style approach, more accurately, a fractional blending method. After five years, it’s become known in-house as our Flagship System. Since the first batch in 2020, it has steadily evolved: every time we bottle Flagship, we replace it with older casks carefully selected from the warehouse. This keeps the flavour profile consistent, while allowing the whisky to gain age, depth and complexity.
