We found Spark Admissions, and specifically, Senior Admissions Consultant Dr. Rachel Rickard Rebellino, through a friend. This did not happen until late in the summer before our daughter began her senior year. Already getting support from her school’s college counselor to keep all elements of the college application process on track, we were grateful to already be in good hands. However, we also realized our daughter would benefit from complementary support offering expert advice and guidance in writing college essays. From the very beginning, our daughter and Rachel hit it off – not surprising given how friendly, kind, and easy to communicate with Rachel has been throughout. Rachel helped establish timelines and structure for our daughter’s writing process so that she could develop a good body of work for use as the foundation for most of her college applications – all of which was very crucial for her as she simultaneously juggled a challenging course load and numerous extracurricular commitments. Whenever our daughter reached out to Rachel with questions or other needs, Rachel was quick to respond. Ultimately, our daughter was accepted to several of her selected schools, including one of her top choices. She was also waitlisted at several additional schools, and once again, turned to Rachel for support in drafting letters of continued interest to the few that she has decided to pursue. Working with Rachel has been nothing short of impactful and positive for our daughter, both in the end results and the experience. Our only regret is that we did not find and engage with Sparks much earlier in our daughter’s high school years. My daughter and Emily Herring clicked at the very first meeting. To be honest, I actually had a little reservation at first wishing we had someone got more years of experience than her. However, she proofed me wrong in no time. Emily is so good at this job! Counselor Sarah Fridman has guided my daughter for her college application during the past 6 months. She was super nice and always open to my daughter's ideas, making sure to help my daughter's writing without taking away her voice.
