i went and see karen yesterday with my dog dave he is a english springer spanial the proplem i had with dave was his barking at any other dog or people it used to realy annoy me but after 1 hour or so dave was walking past karen and her dogs and walking on the lead with no pulling(i forgot to mention his lead pulling) i couldnt believe the change in dave after 2 hours i recommend sdt and especially karen i cant thank you enough Melvyn /Dave

Pleasant experience, very quiet at the venue on a Tuesday lunchtime. Aaron was great, worked well with my dog and hopefully we can put into practice what we done in the session. My session was filmed, the camera guy was lovely and chatty, it wasn’t awkward at all. Hopefully I can see some nice footage from it soon 🙂 I would recommend to friends and family

I have found the videos they have posted of using reward based training methods useful. , However, Southend Dog Training’s methods are a ‘balanced’ type of training which also advocates the use of punishment and force on dogs. If you wouldn’t use force on a two year old toddler, why would you use force on a dog that is intellectually on a par with them (at least!). Use reward based methods and create a good bond with your dog. You don’t need to put an animal in distress to make it do what you want - you just need rewards, patience, consistency and determination.

Super clear instructions on how to get there and what to do on arrival. Sophie was so lovely to work with, she was professional and patient throughout the session and I could really sense how experienced she was. She taught me things I would never have figured out on my own and have already seen improvements with my dog on his lead walking. I would definitely love to do more sessions at Southend but hopefully I won't need to! Highly recommend, worth every penny for this premium service and friendly team.

I booked with southend dog training. I had Sophie as a trainer. She was fantastic. Friendly, easy to talk to, understood the needs of my dog and her breed very well. She explained my dogs behaviours and body language very well. Showed me when to pick up on certain body languages when to disengage. We work our way through different obstacles. I came away feeling very happy and confident in walking my dog around other dogs. Can't recommend her enough.

As you can see cute as buttons oor jack is 🐶. Booked a 1:1 zoom session with Karen and well she was amazing. We dog owners are guilty of not being better parents to oor wee cavapoo Jack. Karen was so helpful and kind and feel her knowledge of how to get Jack better trained was great. I’m so glad I contacted them to get Karen. Thanks Karen will def stick to your advice. 🐶😊

Loki the Frenchie loved his session. So overwhelmed by the amazing staff!! Everyone was so lovely and friendly. It was so nice to have everyone just come up and say hi. It was so very refreshing. It was really nice to see Adam and lovely he came up to say hello. As he was one of the main factors we booked. Really shows how much he cares about this business. We booked with Sophie on the half price deal. At the end of the day half price or not it's worth every penny. Worth the 2 hour drive to help our Loki. It was so nice to interact with Sophie. She was so understanding with Loki and also us. Listing to our wants and needs. Sophie took time to show us what to do, how to handle correctly and so on. It's amazing with the right tools you can accomplish anything. It was really refreshing to see that she really took Loki's needs into play. Also, the need of myself with his training as I'm currently pregnant and due in the next few weeks. Even when he got overwhelmed she could see when to stop. Sophie pin pointed the exact cause of Loki's issues. I know everything will take time. However, even day two of us working with what we been told. Loki saw his most hated dog today and did his look then look away. NO REACTION ... Small win if I do say so myself. Looking forwards to our follow up Sophie! Thank you for all your help. We drove 4 hours for a 2 hour 1-2-1 with Aaron and oh my god it was worth it! The attention to detail was incredible! The advice, tips and tricks were unmatched. Not only was Aaron so lovely and kind he was extremely knowledgeable. It was so unbelievably helpful. We have just been out for our first walk since the session and we can already see the difference. Thank you so much Aaron!

Worth every penny! Our one-on-one training session in Southend was incredible! Sophie was our trainer, and I cannot recommend her enough. We felt listened to, gained so much knowledge, and came away with significantly more confidence. Sophie is amazing at reading dogs and was able to tell us a lot about our cocker spaniel's body language. She was brilliant at identifying adjustments we could make to improve his lead walking. With the new tools and knowledge we've gained, we can see a significant difference in our dog post-visit and have much more confidence and trust in ourselves. If you live far from Southend or are worried about the cost of a one-on-one session, I would 100% recommend just biting the bullet—it will be worth it!

Brilliant training by Adam and the whole team. If you have a dog with issues and need help you want someone who listens, understands and gives you the techniques to work together to resolve the problems. Adam & the team do exactly that. He has an incredible understanding of a dog’s behaviour and what is required to help both the dog & you. He explains clearly, demonstrates, you then practice and work together until you are confident. He empowers you to make the changes needed to improve your dog’s life. The whole team are passionate about dogs and their owners. The experience was first class from arriving to leaving & very enjoyable. The booking process was seamless and throughout the team were in contact every step of the way. The training is already working and it will take time but I know SDT will always be there to help with advice, should I need it, in the future. I cannot recommend them highly enough – if you’re thinking about contacting them, do it now, you won’t be disappointed and ultimately you will have a well behaved, happy dog and happy owner.

I have been following SDT for quite sometime on YouTube and have tried most things that other trainers say do but didn’t work on my three-year-old German Shepherd who I rescued 18 months ago we think he was probably Covid dog as he’s terrible on the lead and goes mad at the site of other dogs although it seems to be excitement and not aggression anyway I bit the bullet took the two hour drive up to Southend Dog Training and had a two hour session with Aaron He spent time with Gunner trying different collars until he found the collar that worked and eventually could sit outside the compound with Gunner just watching the other dogs in their training session without barking and going mad, I had a go on the lead with him as well and the difference was amazing I highly recommend Southend Dog Training and Aaron was brilliant. Thanks mate. Hopefully I won’t need to see you again but if I do, I’ll have no hesitation of the 250 mile round-trip.

A 2 hour 1-2-1 session withAaron at SDT HAS CHANGED MY DOGGY LIFE Honestly! We booked a session with aaron because we hit a plateau with our dog training. Our story… We got a rescue dog aged 6 months almost a year ago and on walks he lunged at everything, he is extremely strong and only my husband could walk him. We spent a small fortune on dog behavior/training and he came along massively. 6months on and In a QUIET environment he is capable of loose lead walking, sit, disengage etc. BUT I thought, we can’t carry on with only my husband being strong enough to walk him and in areas where he has a lot of distance from other dogs. This was controlling our lives. In 2 hrs at SDT Aaron found the techniques and tools to manage Busters lunging. We were amazed! We had the best 2 hours EVER!! I am confident that with these new training tools and knowledge within a few months i will be able to walk Buster on my own!

Sophie was amazing with our reactive jack Russell. We worked through different techniques to find the correct one for us/him. By the end of the session our dog was not reacting to any dogs or people. We tried the techniques later on in the day and since and they've been working wonders. We couldn't be more grateful.

After closely following all the great content on Instagram, we finally booked a 1-1 session with Aaron to discuss recall, lead training and general obedience with our 4 month old Whippet, Figgy. Every question we asked received a friendly and in-depth answer that put our minds to rest. We left feeling really clear and a lot less stressed, knowing what we needed to implement, change and stop practicing altogether to raise a happy, respectful and obedient dog! Feeling confident & removing the guess-work was priceless. The facility was big and well maintained, the staff were friendly and it felt great to let our curious little sight-hound off-lead in their enclosed area. Would highly recommend.

Had a great session at SDT on Thursday. We were met on arrival and made to feel very welcome and relaxed. Aaron was our trainer for the session and as soon as we got Danny out of the car he could clearly identify what our training needs were as another dog was nearby!! Aaron immediately helped put us at ease and the session was enjoyable, informative and we were delighted that by the end of the session, we were walking comfortably around other dogs. I had complete trust in Aaron's knowledge and expertise. I had been following the videos prior to the visit, but this session cemented the learnings from the videos and actually having Aaron there to guide and advise made a world of difference and I'm really pleased we made the trip down to have a face to face. Thank you!!

Cannot recommend enough for any issues. We had an issue with lead reactivity and had a 1.1 with Phoebe. She was thorough and we really felt like she took time to get to know us and our boy Rio. She was then able to help us make adjustments and educate us. The rest of the trainers were also out and it was great to see lots of team work between staff coming over to work with the clients needs. For example another trainer come over for us to practice Rio's reactivity to people walking towards him. We also got to meet Adam who went over and greeted everyone. I cannot thank them enough. Free videos with tips on insta, website, training sessions, food and more. Just from the tips on insta we were able to implement changes. We loved working with Phoebe. She was so caring and catered to exactly what we needed. Thank you SDT team & Phoebe for our 1.1 yesterday from us and off course Rio. A journey and money worth spent.
