Wonderful safari lodge in Samburu
Had a wonderful stay for 3 nights during our family vacation in Kenya. Kids ages 11 & 13 had their own room with twin beds. Rooms were so comfortable and gorgeous. Located right on the river so you can get animal sighting right from your room. Pool was relaxing and so clean. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable. We went on morning and evening game rides with local guides. Saw elephants, giraffes, zebras, lions, leopards, a cheetah, and so many more! We also visited a local village and school. Very responsible use of water and resources at this lodge. Food was amazing! The chef made us a special African meal our last night that was unforgettable.
Incredible Honeymoon Stay
We had an incredible honeymoon stay here. The service and food was impeccable, made possible by the wonderful staff here. Our game driver Joshua helped us to see every thing we possibly could want to. Jackson and Sakita were wonderful guides on the bush walk / hike to the top of neighboring hilltop. The Doctor (barman) also ensured that we were always hydrated. Could not have asked for a better stop on our honeymoon and we will definitely be returning.
Excellent stay
First of all I should say that Samburu is an underrated safari destination within the parks in Kenya. Soroi Larsen's Camp at Samburu is a raw and elegant camp along the Ewaso Nyiro River. From reception to kitchen, all of the staff there is very kind, nice and helpfull. You see the humbleness of Samburu people there. Tents overlooking to the river are very clean and comfortable. You can enjoy your day watching the elephant visiting the camp, having your delicious lunch with watching crodiles and you can fall asleep to the whispers of the river and the wind. Highly recommended.

We absolutely loved our stay at Larsen’s camp. The tented room was beautiful, the food was delicious and the staff was warm, welcoming, and helpful. Samburu is a great place to go on safari, especially if you’re a bird-lover like me. We can’t recommend this place highly enough.
Soroi Larsen’s Safari
First class stay at Soroi Larsen’s Camp, loved everything about it from the beautiful suites on the river with a stunning sunrise view to the delicious food prepared by chef John everything was top notch. Our game driver, Joshua/Esokon was friendly, knowledgeable, enjoyable to be with, a consummate host. He expertly navigated the area and was connected with the other guides to optimize our experience each day, He always knew where to find the animals and never left us disappointed. We went to Retiti Elephant Sabctuary which was a 2 1/2 hour drive each way and Sakita from the Larsen’s camp joined us and he made the long drive very enjoyable talking with him and getting to know him a little bit. An all around wonderful experience that set the bar for further safari’s incredibly high.

Hidden amongst the trees and nestled alongside the river, Soroi Mara Luxury Migration Camp blends seamlessly into its natural surroundings. One would hardly know it was there until arriving. The combination of wood finishes, canvas tents, and beautiful river views creates an atmosphere that is both luxurious and deeply connected to nature. The tranquility and serenity are simply unmatched. From the moment you arrive, you feel as though you have stepped into a private sanctuary where nature and comfort coexist perfectly. The welcome was warm and genuinely heartfelt. We were greeted with a refreshing chilled pineapple juice, freshly prepared and absolutely delicious. Camp Manager Joel personally introduced us to the key members of staff we would interact with throughout our stay, ensuring that we immediately felt at home. Joel regularly checked in on us during our stay, making sure every detail was perfect. Every time we returned from a game drive, Joel and Joy were there to warmly welcome us back to camp with genuine smiles and hospitality. We were fortunate enough to stay in the Family Tent, and all we can say is: **WOW!** The tent offers spectacular river views from a spacious deck furnished with comfortable seating, perfect for reading, relaxing, or simply taking in the scenery. Watching the river flow by while listening to the sounds of nature is an experience in itself. The interiors are elegant without being excessive, luxurious without feeling intimidating, and incredibly comfortable. In fact, our mother declared that Soroi Mara Luxury Migration Camp would be her permanent home whenever she visits the Mara! The rooms are beautifully appointed, spacious, and thoughtfully designed. The bathrooms are particularly impressive, featuring large walk-in wardrobes, 24-hour hot water, and excellent water pressure throughout our stay. We absolutely loved the artistic mosaic sinks, which blend perfectly with the camp's natural aesthetic. They were charming, unique, and beautifully crafted. The tent is equipped with fans, a safe, a well-stocked minibar, and a generous selection of beverages and spirits. Every detail has clearly been considered to maximize comfort while maintaining the authentic safari experience. A special thank you must go to Maurice, our personal housekeeper. Maurice always had a smile on his face and attended to every request with enthusiasm and kindness. Whether it was early morning tea and coffee before a game drive or refreshments later in the day, nothing was ever too much trouble. Thank you, Maurice, for making our stay so comfortable and memorable. Another wonderful addition to the camp is the on-site Nikon Camera Centre. Whether you are a seasoned photographer or a complete beginner, the centre offers guests the opportunity to hire professional Nikon cameras and equipment to enhance their safari experience. A special thank you to Brian, whose passion for photography is infectious. Unfortunately, I did not get to spend as much time there as I would have liked, but that simply gives me another reason to return. Brian, next time I will definitely be setting aside more time to learn from you! The food was simply exceptional. A huge thank you to Boniface and his culinary team for consistently delivering outstanding meals. Every dish was beautifully prepared, flavorful, and thoughtfully presented. My spouse and I have been fortunate enough to stay at many excellent hotels and lodges over the years, but our stay at Soroi Lion Bluff was quite simply the best hospitality experience we have ever had. What makes this place special is not just the stunning location, the wildlife, or the beautiful accommodations. It is the people. From the moment we arrived, it was clear that the staff and management genuinely care about their guests, the surrounding environment, and the lodge itself. That sense of pride and stewardship is evident in everything they do. The setting is spectacular. The views of Mount Kilimanjaro and Taita Hills from our room and from around the property were breathtaking, particularly at sunrise and sunset. The lodge is beautifully situated, serene, private, and immersed in nature. Our room was spacious, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed to maximize both privacy and appreciation of the surrounding landscape. The wildlife experiences were unforgettable. We enjoyed game drives, incredible sundowners overlooking the vast Tsavo landscape, and even spent a night in the hide, which was one of the most unique and memorable experiences we have ever had. Throughout these activities, Derrik ensured that we were comfortable, informed, and able to fully appreciate every moment. The food deserves special mention. Chef Bashir worked what can only be described as magic from the kitchen. Every meal was exceptional, and several dishes were among the best we have ever eaten anywhere. It is difficult to believe such consistently outstanding cuisine can be produced in such a remote location. The service throughout the lodge was equally impressive. Chulla and Daniel demonstrated remarkable attention to detail and seemed to anticipate guests’ needs before they were even expressed. Florian and the housekeeping team maintained our room impeccably and ensured that every detail was taken care of. The level of professionalism was extraordinary. We were also continually impressed by the leadership team. Harrison and Phyllis were visible, engaged, professional, and genuinely invested in ensuring that every guest had an exceptional experience. Their leadership clearly sets the tone for the entire lodge. We also thoroughly enjoyed the sundowner experiences organized by Izidori and Phyllis, which were among the highlights of our stay. What impressed us most, however, was the culture of the place. This is not a lodge where hospitality feels scripted or transactional. Luxury migration camp a must stay place in mara
Had the best stay at LMC with Joel , the manager, who made sure we were comfortable at all times. Safari was our private table attendant and made us feel at Home with his jovial nature and warmth. Then there was Dickson who made sure we were up and about by 530 in the morning to go for our morning game drives with hot tea on the bed. Our chef , Boniface, served us delectable meals, which was a feast for the eyes as well as satisfying to our pallets. The masseuse, joy, gave me a good relaxing massage , set the massage table at the porch under the sun. Joshua and koshal our guards keeping us safe at all times .

Wonderful Masi Mara
Everyone at this camp was amazing. The food was incredible. I received sad news and had to leave the dining room. I was accompanied by one of the staff who stayed with me until I felt comfortable going back. He also took me to my room to assure I was OK. The little monkeys were so funny. They would join he on my deck and chatter as tho talking with me. My grudge Daniel was extremely knowledgeable about the Mara as he was raised there. One night while we were on our drive I wasn’t feeling well. He gave me his cost a d wrapped me in a blanket. He must have said something when we returned to camp. There was warm water with honey and soup waiting for me. My bed had two hot water bottles in it for me.

Wonderful bush camp
The managers, Joseph and Joel, were very attentive. I was a solo traveler any wanted to make sure everything was perfect for me—they succeeded. My room steward, Ezekiel, assured I was awake on time every morning and brought me my tea and biscuits each morning. I was able to enjoy both on my patio and then get ready for my day. My waiter Titus was fantastic. After the first day he remembered that I liked tea with honey, small amount of fresh tropical fruit and a light breakfast. Meals were prepared by head chef Bonaface. He would come by and explain what lunch was going to be so I could select what I wanted. He did the same after lunch for dinner. The pastry chef was magical. His breads and rolls were light and airy—perfect. All the security staff was incredible and met. The minute I stepped off my deck to escort me to and from the dining room. Dorris, their naturalist, was such a love. George from the jungle was my guide and provided wonder safari trips each day. He spotted so. Any animals from far distances and got us up close but at a safe distance.

Wenn die Sonne vor der Zeltterrasse aufgeht
Das Soroi Larsens Camp gehört für uns zu den Topadressen im Samburu National Park. Die großzügig angelegten Zelte, mit einem wirklich sehr großen Badezimmer, in dem es an nichts fehlt und ihrer zum Ewaso Ngiro Fluss ausgerichteten Terrasse, bieten sehr viel Privatsphäre und laden zum verweilen und entspannen ein. Der Clou ist eine Klappe in der Zelt Wand, durch das der morgendliche Tee gereicht wird und natürlich der morgendliche Sonnenaufgang, der von der Terrasse aus genossen werden kann. Das sehr gut geschulte Personal, ließt einem jeden Wunsch von den Augen ab. Da es Mittags sehr heiß werden kann im Samburu Reservat haben wir den, sehr schön angelegten Pool, gerne genutzt! Zumal man auch vom Pool aus mit etwas Glück noch Wild beobachten kann. Hervorzuheben ist noch die sehr, sehr gute Versorgung, die mit jedem 5 Sterne Hotel mithalten kann. Die immer sehr ansehnlich hergerichteten Menüs waren einfach hervorragend! Aber auch ein Buschfrühstück oder Buschlunch sind möglich und so haben wir öfter diese Mahlzeiten in der Wildnis eingenommen. Die Lage des Camps direkt am Flussufer ist für eine erfolgreiche Safari ebenfalls sehr gut und hervorzuheben! Nicht zu vergessen der gut aus gestatte Foto Hide, der einem die Beobachtung und das Fotografieren der Tierwelt auch Nachts ermöglicht!
Ein Zuhause mitten in der Wildnis der Masai Mara
Wir sind regelmäßige Gäste des Mara Bush Camps und freuen uns immer wieder über den ehrlichen, herzlichen Empfang im Camp. Unser ausgesuchtes Zelt lag dieses Mal am Ende des Camps und bot uns so nicht nur jede Menge Privatsphäre, sondern auch immer eine kleine Fußpirsch. Das große Doppelbett, das üppige Platzangebot, sowie das fast riesige Badezimmer im Zelt, sowie eine geräumige Terrasse vor dem Zelt machen den Aufenthalt mehr als nur angenehm. Für uns ist es purer Luxus! Ganz zu schweigen von der unglaublichen Versorgung. Egal ob im Camp oder draußen in der Wildnis eingenommen, immer bekommt man ausgesprochen leckere Speisen. Lunch und Dinner sind nicht nur Gaumen- sondern auch Augenfreuden. Der Abschluss eines erfolgreichen Safaritages mit einem Sundowner in der Wildnis oder am Lagerfeuer des Camps, zählen ebenfalls zu den Highlights unseres Aufenthaltes im Mara Bush Camp. Ganz sicher kommen wir auch im nächsten Jahr wieder!
Planning to Go Back- too amazing not to
We had the most amazing time here. The staff are absolutely incredible! Every. Single. One. They took such good care of us for meals and our tent. The food is top notch and the tent so comfortable. WiFi was great, allowing me to do a virtual meeting for work. We had incredible game drives with Koriata (our driver) and Brian (the photographer that joined us for a photography safari) added more than just pictures to our trip. Please do not miss the Maasai village, they are iconic and even more so once you meet them; we consider ourselves lucky to have visited with them. Loved hearing the hippos in the river and the roar of the lions the last night. Do not miss an opportunity to stay here.
