Excellent service from start to finish! Tom came round to quote very promptly, gave a competitive price, and had sorted scaffolding and installation dates within the week. Scaffolders did a great job (especially on our interesting access! Thanks Glen and co) and the installation went very smoothly over a day and a half, Jack and Leo were prompt, polite and just cracked on with the job no bother at all. And Ben followed up with some post-installation info which was really helpful, plus a follow up email from Amanda to keep me updated on the paperwork. Absolutely brilliant service, cannot fault it at all. Sincere thanks to you all. Would highly recommend to anyone thinking of solar/battery. Looking at performance of the system so far, I’m very impressed - the only gripe I have is with myself, for not having done this sooner!

I invited three companies to quote for the work on our property, installing solar panels, battery and associated equipment. Tom visited my property and explained in simple terms, what solar was all about and what I should expect from it. He explained the additional bits of kit I may want to consider in my personal situation, listened to what I wanted and explained why some of the claims from the other quotes were wrong. Backing up Tom’s comments with my own research, I realised that he had genuinely just given me straight forward, honest advice. The price recorded was competitive, and the company were willing to work with my chosen roofer, so we were all set to go. On the day of the install (and the whole thing did only take a day for me!), the filters were polite, clean and tidy and efficient. A true credit to the company. Thank you to all at Smart Homes Electrical. The whole team were a pleasure to work with and I would highly recommend.

I started my journey to solar by getting an online quote from Octopus this acted as my base to compare all other proposals against. This proved to be more costly than that provide by Tom Mastin for a far inferior system – two thirds the number of panels and less than half the size of battery. The other proposals were, with one exception, vastly more expensive – one, for the same system as Smart homes installed in our home was 60% more expensive. Of the 8 proposals I received, Tom’s was the least sales orientated. Matter of fact and down to earth, even to the point that Tom shared information with me which, had it been an important aspect of our installation, would have killed the project. I felt sure that the proposal from Tom was what he would have fitted if it was his home. Indeed, Ben who fitted my system had put the same in his only week before. I did due diligence, looking at reviews, checking qualifications and registrations. I visited company house and reviewed the details and accounts, and was reassured by the solid, consistent, progress and growth of the company year on year. I appointed Smart Homes and we agreed an installation date around three weeks hence. A week or so later, Richard emailed for information for them to arrange my feed in to the grid. Next is my only criticism of the entire process; A couple of days before the installation date, I felt the need to call to check that everything was going ahead on the due date. Tom told me that it was, and the scaffold would arrive the following day. I don’t feel that I would have known this had I not called and indeed when the scaffolders arrived to take the scaffold down, no arrangement for access had been agreed and it was purely chance that we were in to let them into our property. The installation was undertaken by Ben and his apprentice Tom, who were an absolute pleasure to have in our home, respectful courteous and humorous. The installation is neat, Ben checked with me all the way through what was needed and how it would be undertaken, and Tom kept everything tidy. They do need to be fuelled with Tea. I am very pleased with how it is presented and the look of the panels on the roof is excellent, relatively inobtrusive and not shouting their presence unlike others I have seen. I’m very impressed with the power that they are supplying and I’m looking forward to not paying for electricity virtually at all and to near free motoring. I would have no hesitation recommending Tom Mastin and his team for future installations.

We used Smart Homes two and a half years ago to install our solar and they did an excellent, very tidy job which has been working very well ever since. We recently needed an electric vehicle charger added and they were able to supply and fit quickly and once again have done a very nice and extremely tidy job which is working well. Both times the installation was fully explained and all the necessary phone apps set up. Their installers are friendly, efficient, tidy and helpful and we cannot recommend them highly enough.
