Unforgettable adventure The trek to Uhuru peak via Machame Route was an unforgettable experience. The crew that accompanied us was extraordinarily great. Our mountain guides Noel and Richard were very empathetic and patient, answering all our questions, preparing us well by giving short briefings every night and motivating us especially throughout harder parts of the trek. They were super caring always asking for our wellbeing and checking on our health regularly (oxygen etc.). We felt very save at all times. They were clearly professional and experienced and their passion for both nature and the hiking/climbing itself was contagious. They put so much effort into planning the daily hikes and especially the summit night, considering our individual abilities and needs, making it a special and enjoyable experience for everyone. Thank you so much!Our chef David was very cordial and cooked 5-star meals in the little kitchen tent, taking into account personal dietary restrictions and preferences, providing surprisingly much fresh and healthy food.Joell served the food graciously and always made sure we had everything we needed and more. He was extraordinarily friendly and effortlessly created a very welcoming atmosphere and even communicated with us in our mother tongue (German).Also the other porters, Matthew, Ladislaus, Said, James, James, Geoffrey, Deus, Maiko and Pascal were super hardworking, helpful and always friendly and full of happiness, spreading so much joy and thereby contributing to the wonderful atmosphere in camp. Thank you to every single one of them! The communication with Shah Tours went very smoothly. They thoroughly answered all the questions that arouse beforehand and actively asked for feedback both written and personally afterwards. They were very open to both positive and negative critique, of which I had very little, my only advice being to revise the packing list provided in advance.All in all it was a unique and special adventure, that I enjoyed greatly. So many unforgettable memories were created throughout the 7 days of the trek. The amazing crew made every day almost as special and pleasant as the outstanding and impressive moment of reaching Uhuru peak. Asante sana!

Like climbing Kilimanjaro with the family that will bring you to the Top of the World! I went with Shah Tours for my first ever solo adventure in which I climbed Mount Kilimanjaro and it was easily an adventure of a lifetime! Not only did Shah Tours get me to the top, they made me not want to leave Tanzania at all! Our wonderful guides Calvin, Augustin, and Anania brought my summit group to the top, kept us feeling unstoppable and inspired all the way, and went out of their way to make us feel like family. I learned so much from them about the mountain and the local culture! It made the adventure incredibly immersive and worth every millisecond. Along with our guides, our wonderful crew made the experience a beautiful memory I swear never to forget! We had a great experience. They were easy to communicate with before the trip. We were able to rent a few things for the trek, everything and anything you think you’d need for the trek, they have it for rent. We rented sleeping bags, sleeping mats and poles since we did not want to travel with our own from home. The tents were so spacious, the sleeping bags were warm and the mats worked great. Never once were we cold. The whole crew from the porters to the chef to the food server to the guides were all great. Big smiles all around. You’ll be AMAZED at how hard all these guys work. The food was amazing and you will never go hungry, there’s always plenty of snacks in between meals. The tours are affordable and are just as good as those crazy expensive international company tours. BUT instead, your money will be staying locally and supporting local guides and porters.

You Need Richard on Your Kilimanjaro Climb – Here’s Why Thanks to Richard and Lightgod we managed the real hiking experience. Even though I didn't choose the route myself but am glad we did it with the two most exceptional guides.Me, my sister and my sister's husband (Nathan) we did the Umbwe route for 6 days. The experience from the beginning to the end was exceptional. It was 5 star experience on the mountain. The whole crew works together, the porters, the chef and the guides are the very well organized.Day 1 and Day 2 were the most challenging ones I have ever experienced. Thanks to Richard we have a lot of memorable pictures and videos which we couldn't take by ourselves. Thanks to Lighthod with all the information we needed. On the summit night we had a very big challenge in terms of both mentally and physically. My body and mind was telling me to go back but Richard encouraged us to push ourselves and also told us it is the point of no return 🙃. He did mention we will feel sleepy, feeling like throwing up, plus little headache and that's exactly what the three of us felt. Whenever we wanted to give up, he was there to help like opening the water bottles, giving us energy chocolate 🍫 and so on. He even encouraged us by telling us they are both feeling what we were feeling, which am sure it wasn't true but it helped us anyways. There is no word to explain how above and beyond he went but he was always there for us without expecting anything in return, you can always tell he loves his work and the sentence that was always on my mind is that "We are here for you, to make sure you enjoy, get to the top and come down safe, so use us". Thanks Richard If you really want to get on top of Kilimanjaro without feeling overwhelmed, safe, comfortable and valued then do consider Shah Tours and always ask for Richard. You will have fun and always be at the expense having a good sense of humor guide on the entire trip.Thanks Shah Tours for giving us Richard and Lightgod.

Great Tanzanian Safari with Shah Great safari through 3 national parks in Tanzania. Robert our driver was excellent....... Safe, reliable, knowledgeable, courteous, friendly, happy. Travelled as a family of 4. Comfortable in the Toyota Landcruiser. Saw lots of wildlife and enjoyed the great migration river crossing. THE REAL HIKING EXPERIENCE, UMBWE 6 DAYS Umbwe 6 days with Lightgod and Richard was the most amazing hike I have ever done in my life. From the moment we landed and met our lead guide, Lightgod, we knew this was going to be an amazing hike.Lightgod did the preclimb briefing on what to expect on the hike and the nature of the hike. The knowledge he had was incredible and amazing. He also mentioned that we would meet his assistant guide on day 1 of the climb.We met Richard, the funniest, good sense of humor, the very knowledgeable guide, and also the youngest guide I have ever met on all my climbs. Richard is also one of the guides who has a very decent english in Tanzania. Of course, Lightgod, Zanzibar guides, and taxi drivers do have understandable english, but Richard's is more decent for his age.We had an amazing time throughout the whole climb, Lightgod was funny and knowledgeable while Richard was both charming, knowledgeable, and caring and always made sure we had everything we needed and our mountain doctor.On the summit night I my wife had a problem with her headlamp, and I raised the concern to Richard, and without hesitating, he took his head lamp off his head and gave it to me. Also, on the way, my wife was feeling cold, and luckily, Richard carried a pair of mittens with him and offered to my wife. He knows what's about to happen even before it happens. On the way down from the summit, he also held my wife to provide balance since her leg wasn't well. He is not only strong but also observant. I had to leave my two headlamps to Richard for his selflessness, and maybe he could help other hikers in case they have problems with headlamps 😃 I also congratulate Lightgod for always being selfless and making sure we were taken care of and had all the information before leaving the camp and after arriving at the camp.Thank you so much, Shah tours and thank you, Richard, for making our trip a success and amazing memories by also getting cool pictures when I could do that by myself.

8 Day Lemosho Climb Many thanks to Shah-Tours for this indescribable experience. Many thanks to Calvin and Good Chance for the great support and many thanks to all the porters and the chef, without whom the success would not have been possible.I did the tour 2 weeks ago and can only recommend Shah-Tours. We (48, 51, 52, 61 years old) chose the 8 day Lemosho route and we all made it to Uhuru Peak. The equipment is excellent, and the food was sufficient and tasted good. Most of the time there was porridge, omelet and pancake for breakfast, snacks for on the go, or popcorn, peanuts and biscuits in between, rice with vegetables and chicken or beef for lunch and dinner. The tents were from Hilleberg and the sleeping bags from Marmot. Since I was still freezing at night, Shah-Tours provided me with an additional sleeping bag without further ado. I thought that was great.Communication was also very good in the run-up, so that we were able to plan this climb very precisely. It was also important to us that the porters were treated well. Every evening, we got the briefing for the next day, which was perfectly adequate. Likewise, the oxygen level in the blood was checked every evening and morning to make sure that no one suffers from altitude sickness. We felt well accompanied and in good hands at all times.

We were taken care of from the moment we landed with transfers and accommodation at the beautiful Chanya lodge where we fuelled up and rested before and after our trek.We completed the Machame 7-day trek. The trek itself was incredible yet challenging and no doubt rewarding - the views on Mount Kilimanjaro were like no other and I will never forget the most beautiful sunrise we saw on our way to summit. Experienced Guide With Smooth Communication John & Akacia have been amazing guides with experience who successfully led 4 of us to summit Mt. Kilimanjaro. We joined the 7-days Lemosho private tour with Shah, and it is a good decision - prompt reply via Whatsapp, transparent in pricing and rental arrangement. We lost of luggage and Wilbert helped to arrange transportation to pick it up when we cherish our rest. The crew of porters are all very kind and helpful, thoroughly check on us everyday and proactively assist whenever we have issues. Polite as well who respect our own time. We cannot do this without all of their help. Food is also good (Kudos to Alan), with no duplication in menu. We are definately not experienced hikers, and with John and the team's lead, we made it well and smoothly. We are happy to have partnered with them for this experience.

Perfect tour The trip was more than what we thought of. Our guide Mohamed picked us up from the airport and proved to be a perfect match. He connected well with us and understood our needs and ideas well. He was well versed with what he was hired to do, not a single issue with that, but went above and beyond as a person too. Deep in the jungle we felt safe knowing that he knew what he was doing and entertained because even though you cant make appointments with the animals Mohamed seemed to have made them nonetheless. The company was easy to work with, very responsive when we were making the bookings and did not push for anything. Bucket List ✅✅✅✅✅ This experience was absolutely incredible. From the moment we arrived in Moshi everything was handled perfectly. Airport pickup was smooth, accommodations before and after were beautiful, and I can’t say enough good things about the entire crew we had with us. Our guides Calvin and Richard were so much fun and professional and made us feel completely safe. It wasn’t long before we were all best friends playing cards at night and by the end it was difficult to say goodbye because we had created such a tight bond. The crew of porters went above and beyond with everything they did. It was impressive to watch them work so hard with such positive attitudes, smiles and genuine happiness. They thought of every little detail to make us comfortable and we couldn’t have done it without them. The food was also incredible throughout the entire week to give us the energy to complete the trek. Kilimanjaro Day Climb at Marangu It was a short trip, but a very insightful and memorable one. We went on a day trip with Shah Tours, and I can say that everything was amazing, well-organized, and timed perfectly. We had a great guide (Richard) from their office. We were told he would be there a day before for the briefing around 3:30 pm, but he was there at 3 pm sharp. We were impressed, considering we had an impression that Tanzanian people are always late. On the briefing, we were supposed to leave at 6 am the next day, but Richard was flexible and we left at 6:30 am. He also talked to the hotel so they could arrange an early breakfast for us.He was accurate with the details, the distance of the hike, the altitude, the timing, and also the amount of water (2 liters each) we needed for the day hike. Since we were 4 of us and we didn't have enough water bottles, he came with his own and carried the rest of the water himself, and refilled ours when they were empty. We thought it was too much water, but we ended up needing it. The knowledge and the details he had on the flowers were amazing. It was a short trip that made me want more, wondering how it would have been for the full climb. Last but not least, he is the first person I have met who has decent, straight English, without thinking twice about what he means. Big up to Shah Tours and thanks, Richard.

Amazing hiking experience guided by Calvin and Richard Our hike was incredible! Our hiking guides, Calvin and Richard, were extremely knowledgeable and so much fun to spend the week with. They went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of, and also took lots of photos for us, which made it easy to just enjoy the hike and the scenery. The team of porters and support crew were very organized and put in extra effort into making the trip as comfortable as possible. Overall, it seemed like every detail was thoughtfully accounted for and our group was blown away by the care and attention put into the whole week. The tour company was very responsive and accommodating. We felt very lucky to have been matched with Calvin, Richard, and their team for this hike!
