We had several setbacks during our battle with the justice system but at each setback Scott and his team continued to look for ways to fight for the best results. Their tenacity didn't end at the last meeting of negotiations but continued into the final day of court, resulting in an outcome much better than my family and I could have ever desired and ultimately making it possible for me to leave this review.
The process wasn't easy, it wasn't always smooth, but they never gave up and that was what mattered most. They are responsive, communicative, and will help you prepare for each step to come. They will not shy away from telling you the hard truths nor sugar coat things to give you false hope, rather they manage expectations when you need it most.

But I would be doing you a disservice if I didn't also say that YOU have to be willing to do as much work, if not more, than you hire them to do. One of the things I appreciated most was knowing that I could call or text and actually receive an answer. That level of communication gave me reassurance during an extremely difficult time. I cannot say enough good things about Rebekah Pearlstein and her Co-Counsel, David Wilken. They represented my mother in an alleged assault case, and after watching them work over the course of the hearing/trial, our family was incredibly impressed.

Unreal experience. Run don't walk away from this Firm to represent your case & family bc you will be greatly disappointed. I wish i could give 0 stars bc 1 star is too much credit. My brother was killed by police and we hired Palmer Perlstein in high confidence to represent us but James & Rachel did absolutely nothing. Communication was absent and abhorrent. They would take 39 days to respond and when we got updates, it was for files they already had. James would say they'll do something and they never would. Before we could Fire them they dropped our case and their excuse was they're too busy. Nearly 8+ mos of being left in the dark and making no progress. Truly, I wish our experience was different but it was simply awful. Spare your family the headache working with this firm.
Whats comical about this firm and their team is they now regulate and wrote the Instruction Manual on what times its ok for one to leave a google review. It's simply laughable and mirrors their work ethic and perspective on others.

We strive to provide all of our clients with the highest level of service. Unfortunately, this does not always mean we have the answers they want. After police shootings occur, law enforcement agencies investigate to determine if charges will be filed against the officers. Different agencies have different policies; however, often times they will not turn over information – including body camera footage or reports – until after the investigation is complete. In this person’s case, we attempted numerous times to obtain the evidence of what occurred when their loved one was shot and killed by the police. However, we were unable to obtain that information as quickly as the family wanted. This was not for lack of trying, but rather due to law enforcement and the district attorney’s office refusing to provide this evidence while the investigation remained open. We communicated this repeatedly to the family, who was understandably frustrated and desperately seeking answers for the death of their family member. We disengaged from the case after the family began channeling their frustrations at the lack of evidence being turned over toward our firm, despite there being nothing more we could do at the time to get this evidence. After being yelled at multiple times over the phone and accused of doing nothing, despite all of our efforts, we withdrew from their case. We wish nothing but the best for this family and hope that they are able to find the answers they are looking for so that they can get the justice they deserve. Do better. Our family hired this firm with confidence they would fight and help us with our case when police dept shot our brother to death who suffered mental health illness. Working with James R and this firm was was a complete disaster. It consisted of a bunch of empty promises, asking for the same documents we provided them and would simply leave us in the dark on the situation. Getting a reply in email was like pulling teeth. Talking to James was as good as talking to a wall. At minimum some communication would have nice but that's too hard for this firm. Several team members on an email thread with not a single reply from one in days to weeks. We cannot state how awful of an experience this was to work with them and cant recommend for those families who are hurting and seeking not only justice but advocacy.
