I was quite disappointed with the service I received from SBS Business Advisory in handling my tax return. As a professional tax service, I had expected more transparency and thoroughness in the process. Instead, much of the return appeared to rely on pre-filled information, which left me feeling like I could have completed it on my own.
There was also some confusion regarding the advice provided on Division 293 tax. During our discussions, I was told that I would owe an additional $15K in tax on a $350K income, but I later learned that Division 293 tax is calculated based on a combination of superannuation and salary, with a cap on the total amount payable. Unfortunately, I ended up paying this tax with personal funds, though I could have paid it via my superannuation, which was never mentioned during our conversations.
When I sought clarification on certain aspects of my return, I felt that my questions were not well received. Specifically, when I asked about the WFH claim, the response I received felt unprofessional, and the tone was a bit more defensive than I had expected. While I tried to remain calm and suggested that we continue the conversation later, the situation still felt uncomfortable.
Given my experience, I am not confident in the services provided by SBS Business Advisory, and I would recommend that others carefully consider their options before proceeding. I believe there may be better value elsewhere for those who prioritise communication and comprehensive financial advice.
SBS Business- customer service and Professionalism is second to none. I highly recommend trying their service once and I am sure you will come back again and again by yourself.
