Say It Once Works!
We have had two sessions with Kody so far working with our family and our two labs - one a pup and one 4.5 years. Kody is PHENOMENAL and we noticed huge differences in behaviors after just one visit. He communicates between visits if you have any questions and he spends time listening and addressing any needs or concerns during sessions then provides solutions! I cannot recommend him enough!

My cane corso, Count Chocula, is a great dog and Eric is helping us get him to the next level by doing some refresher training on house and leash manners so we don’t have a 150 lb dog jumping on people when he’s excited. We’ve had one in home session and he was already doing much better by the end of the evening and I can’t wait to see how much he’ll develop over the next few weeks from working at home with him with Eric and his doggy boot camp he has coming up!
Very pleased with Say It Once Dog Training, particularly Michelle. The service is very committed to the welfare of the dog and ensuring the relationship we have with our dog is healthy and sound. We have attended a group training and had a lot of fun. Looking forward to additional training sessions!
Michelle is the absolute best!!! We are so thrilled that everything she taught us is resulting in a well-behaved puppy who is happier, and an overall better experience for us as owners. We understand our dog and his needs better, and he understands us better. Truly the best experience…worth every second and penny.
We absolutely loved our first session with Autumn in DC! She was so professional and intelligent and had great answers to all of our questions. Our pup Penny showed improvement in her walking/leash pulling in the first session. We're excited to keep using the tips Autumn gave us :)
We reached out to Say it Once in a moment of desperation, and I’m so glad we did! I was 9 months pregnant when our reactive pup bit a family member, and we weren’t sure if he should be around the baby. We started working with Michelle right when we brought our baby home from the hospital, and she’s helped us so much in a short period of time! She has given us great tools and advice on how to make our home comfortable and safe for both our baby and our dog. It has been a game changer in terms of making us more comfortable having them both in the same space.
Our pup is a rescued cattle dog that is very high energy. He’s also fearful of almost everything and very reactive. Michelle has helped us build his confidence through heel and place training, while also getting him comfortable wearing a muzzle. She even taught him how to walk on a treadmill, which has been amazing to see! She has taught us how to help and lead him, and we are so thankful. We are just beginning our training journey with Say it Once, but we are so excited to see how our pup (& us) continue to learn and grow.
Autumn with Say it Once Dog Training has been a lifesaver for us and our pups! We have a growing pack of shelter rescue dogs that came from overcrowded shelters in the midwest and were facing euthanasia - prior to our move to the DC area, we were able to get the two dogs friendly with one another but they still have a lot of reactivity issues and for their own safety as well as others we do not let them meet other people's dogs or go to places like dog parks.
Then, after doing a roadtrip back out to the midwest to rescue another high-risk pup out of the shelter and bringing her back home to the DMV, we faced the very big challenge of introducing her to our other two shelter pups. She is as equally reactive and for weeks we kept her in a separate part of the house to decompress and attempt very slow intros with the other two pups. No success. Lots of lunges and near fights.
Enter Autumn, who has the extraordinarily special combination of brains, ease, confidence, laid backness and natural affinity for dogs and who was able to help us work through major issues that had been challenging our attempts to do intros. We never imagined we'd ever be able to have the three dogs co-exist let alone meet other dogs and we are so grateful to have Autumn's skillset and commitment with every lesson we've had together. All three of our dogs, including one who can be people selective, really love Autumn and seem sad when she leaves. Autumn is truly multiple people in one - her commute out to us is no small task- it makes the biggest difference to be able to do our sessions in our house in an environment that of which they are most familiar and comfortable. We have seen tremendous growth in not just our newest pup but the other two as well and even other family members have said the same thing. Recently Autumn took one of our dogs out with her for an all day event - including going places we never imagined he'd be able to visit (like Home Depot). Seeing the videos and pictures from their day trip was living proof for us that he could actually do things we never imagined.
We are so very glad that we had the fine fortune of being able to work with Autumn and Say it Once Dog Rescue. We now see the light at the end of the tunnel, a tunnel which has gotten much shorter, in terms of these three high-maintenance pups all co-existing and uniting as a pack.
I adopted my first dog ever, a 7 month old rescue hound, over the summer and was very overwhelmed. I was connected to Say It Once DC through Rural Dog Rescue and it was an absolute gamechanger. Autumn has been so patient and friendly with us, and my puppy (now one!) has made so much progress and often gets complimented for her behavior by our neighbors. Immediately after our first session, I was able to implement some of the changes that Autumn recommended, which made things much better for me and my pup. We've also taken part in some group classes, and Autumn has also looked after my pup when I've traveled. If you are in the Washington DC area, I cannot recommend Autumn and Say It Once DC enough!
Eric is our trainer and we had one session with him so far! He was so helpful with tips and showings on how to further train our 4 month old Golden Retriever! He made sure to tell us our strengths in training so far as well as help us with some concerns we’ve had! We are excited for our second session with him in a few weeks!!!
We cannot thank Autumn from Say It Once Dog Training enough! It's REALLY hard trusting someone else with your dog while on vacation (or at least it was for us), but we felt so comfortable leaving our dog (Toby) with her. We elected a board and train option for our pup so he would have stimulation, attention, structured play while we were on vacation.
We picked our pup up after almost 2 weeks away and it was so nice to see his joyful, goofy, playful-self. It was incredibly comforting knowing that Toby was in good hands with Autumn while we were away. Did that stop us from thinking about him 24/7? NO WAY! But instead of worrying, we would just laugh about funny stories and look at old photos, like any parent would.
Autumn sent daily photos, videos and updates on training, group sessions and everything in between. I would definitely recommend Say It Once Dog Training to make sure your fur baby is not only taken care of but trained along the way!
My Wife hired Say it Once Dog Training because they had great reviews on Facebook. Gratefully, we had a Remarkable experience with our Trainer Michelle. In just ONE Session, she helped us enjoy our new puppy, Mariner. Mariner was 48 Pounds in 6 months (She is a Giant Schauzer and Labradore Mix). When we went to talk her for a walk, it was mainly a Drag for either me or my wife.
When Michelle came over to discuss that Mariner was a Working Dog, we were not sure exactly what she meant, but we do now! In just one Session, we can now enjoy walking with her, by our side, and NOT Dragging us!
I also took Mariner to the Dog Meet on the North Side, for Veteran's day (I'm a veteran and enjoyed the free access for this event). While we were there, Mariner impressed the owner so much, that he inquired on who trained Mariner (and me). We were spotlighted in over 30 others in attendance.
If you are looking for training with you Dog, I KNOW that Say it Once Dog Training and our Trainer Michelle was a Home Run! Call them today! Thank you Michelle.
We could not recommend Michelle and Say it Once more!! With their help, our dog went from a highly reactive dog on walks (barking and lunging at cars, people and dogs) to being able to calmly walk past all triggers. This all happened within 1 long session and some homework! She also taught us calming techniques for our high energy dog and even introduced him to the treadmill. We are so excited with the transformation and please go with Say It Once and Michelle for any of your dog needs!!!!!
Michelle from the Pittsburgh area is absolutely amazing! After we submitted an inquiry we heard back immediately & schedule our first session. When she arrived, she was a great listener learning about our dog, the bad habits we wanted to break, our family dynamic & more. After our initial 2 hour session, with daily dedication, we saw results within 4 days. Everyday is getting better & it’s only been a month! Michelle is INCREDIBLE to work with…. She has a true passion for dogs & I’m so grateful for her expertise! My dog loves her, we love her & it’s a perfect fit. HIGHLY recommend, 5+ stars in our book!
Autumn was an incredible dog trainer! Her approach is rooted in patience, empathy, and a deep understanding of canine and owner behavior. Her session was engaging and informative, fostering a strong bond between owner and dog. Autumn's passion for dogs is evident in her commitment to helping them thrive, making her an exceptional choice for anyone seeking professional, compassionate, and effective training for their canine friends.
