Dr Sara Dean, Laura and all the staff are very good at what they do. My visit was well planned out, and I have never had such a great experience at the dentist. I highly recommend Dr Dean and thank you all!
I always have a great experience. The team is professional, skilled, and incredibly helpful, and they’re generous with their time. Their equipment and imaging technology are truly top-notch. I feel very fortunate to have Dr. Sara and her staff taking care of my dental needs.
This dental office exemplifies everything wrong with healthcare today.
I had a simple dental cleaning appointment, but they brought me back for x-rays. I explained that I was just getting a simple cleaning today. After repeatedly declining more images (I got a whole bunch of x-rays just last year) I was finally moved to my hygienist, Laura.
Laura cleaned my teeth adequately, but then launched into another sales pitch for more x-rays. I explained that I had no teeth issues, had images done each of the three years previous, and that I was currently having insurance issues - I am in between full-time employment. Maybe I can buy x-rays later when my employment is resolved, but for now I cannot commit to an out-of-pocket expense in this economy. Further, I did not feel they were necessary, medically, for me.
Laura informed me that it is this dental office's requirement that I purchase x-rays according to their schedule, and as I could not commit to buying them now, I would be dropped as a patient. I never got to speak to a dentist about my medical needs, nor was I examined by a doctor. I was simply cleaned, told what I would have to purchase, and when I could not, was told I would need to find a new dentist.
Modern medicine is run as a business, and Dr. Dean's office is shameless about it. I've come here for four years and bought everything they wanted me to, but the moment I could not pony over more money on demand, I must find a new Dentist and deal with the hassle of moving records and images over. They clearly only want 'medical whales' who can pay for every optional procedure on demand. Everyone wants a doctor who they feel works on behalf of the patient. Being subjected to sales pressure is the last thing anyone wants; we want to feel as though procedures are only recommended when medically necessary. Now it seems like everything is just run according to a schedule set by the office, and patients cannot make their own decisions about treatments. Of course, after all of this, I asked my mother about her visits to Dr. Dean. She told me she is pressured to get x-rays and whitening every visit. She is in her seventies and cognitively struggling. It bothers me to think she is being treated like a gravy train, but she trusts doctors to the utmost, and believes every treatment recommended to her is necessary. A part of me thinks this is the future of healthcare - demented geriatrics happily nodding along as they sign up for everything the 'nice doctor lady' tells them they need.
I already find it difficult to make informed health decisions, especially in these troubled economic times. There is no need to go to a doctor who will make you wonder whose interest they are serving. There are still old-fashioned medical professionals who view helping their patients as their priority. My recommendation is to seek out another dentist. Even if you do everything Dr. Dean's hygienists want you to do - for years even - the very first visit you decline a procedure they want to sign you up for you will be dropped without even speaking to Dr. Dean, as I was. Do not ignore this warning.
I have been going to Dr. Dean for awhile..wouldn't think of going any where else! I trust Dr Dean completely and Stephanie who cleans my teeth to perfection! I would recommend them to friends and family. Cathy

Thank you for sharing your kind feedback! We truly value your input and are glad to have such a supportive member of our community.
I have visited Dr. Sara Dean on several occasions. Most recently, I sought her assistance after losing a crown that had been placed by a different dentist. Dr. Dean’s office promptly scheduled an appointment for the crown replacement. Dr. Dean’s exceptional skills and professional, warm demeanor make her a joy to have for my dentist. Her staff are a mirror of her high expectations, and they are all friendly and professional as well. The front desk personnel greet you with warm smiles and are quick to let the proper personnel know you have arrived. They are also ready to answer any questions you may have. I have always had a fear of dentists since I was a child, but I find that I no longer have that fear when I visit Dr. Dean. I just love that lady!
