Apart from the mess in the lift the stay was lovely
☺ Close to shops and restaurants the apartment was clean an modern
☹ The room never had a hairdryer which it advertised on the inventory.
And the security gate was broken so any one could walk in to the block we also woke up on our second day to find someone had urinated and poo’ed in the lift which I find disgusting.

Great comfy stay
Was a great place to stay, very clean and modern and convenient for shops and train station.
I’d just like to say though that there was no hairdryer there as is was listed with one so maybe this should be rectified, and went to go in the lift This morning and someone had done a poo and urinated in it ☹️ which I find discussing but the front gate was open constantly so anyone can walk in and out so maybe the lock should be adressed other than that we had a great stay

On the Saltwater Escapes website it states that this is a luxury apartment. That description is noticeably lacking from

☹We felt misled by your promotional material. On a page, which included the apartment’s address at the top, it said ‘entire unit accessible by wheelchair. Entire unit on the ground floor’ Clearly, the apartment is on an upper floor and not accessible by wheelchair. Although I’m disabled, I’m not wheelchair bound. Nonetheless, the steps to the apartment were a real challenge, especially after the walk from the car park. Loading and unloading the car was horrible! The TV in the bedroom didn’t work. No rail in bathroom, on the wall, to help folk in and out of shower.

Es hat uns sehr gut gefallen. Vor der Reise war es allerdings extrem nervig, das umfangreiche check-in-Formular auszufüllen. Das sind wir bei Airbnb überhaupt nicht gewohnt. Normalerweise sind ja mit der Buchung alle Formalitäten schon erledigt.

Absolute gem of a location if you want to be right in the middle of town. We absolutely loved having everything on the doorstep. Shops, bars, restaurants, the harbour and the beach. We didn’t use our car at all during our 4 night stay. I was slightly worried about the noise and possible smells from the restaurant below but can honestly say we didn’t smell or hear a thing. It was a little lively outside on Friday night but that’s to be expected in the location and it settled down before midnight. We had a beautiful meal at Beamers, just a few doors down, the fresh fish was the best I’ve had & the staff were so welcoming and helpful. Saltwater escapes were also really helpful and on hand with any questions.The property was plenty big enough for our family of 5 and there was plenty of fresh, fluffy, white towels. The views from the lounge and front bedroom window were stunning. All in all, we had a fabulous stay and would definitely go back. Thank you!!!

The cottage would have been really nice if it had not been so dirty.
Behind the beds were forgotten earphones, a tanga and some rubbish ...
As the place still was so dirty after at least three hours of cleaning (it really needs a thorough cleaning as there was such ground dirt) we decided not to stay there.
First Saltwater told us they would look for an alternative cottage. Some hours later they told us they wouldn't and that we would have to look for an alternative via airbnb (we had booked the saltwater cottage with airbnb). By this we again lost time of our holiday which was very unsatisfying...

☺Location was perfect. Pretty much in the centre of Brixham so everything was walking distance. Handy if you wanted a drink at night and you don't need to worry about taxis. Also, the view from the living room and bedroom across the harbour is beautiful. Especially at night when all the lights are on.
☹There were a few minor things. First off the wardrobe door in the second floor bedroom decided to fall off on being opened. On further inspection it was due to the brackets being broke on the back of the wardrobe. The property could do with some TLC as well. Carpets very out dated and paint work missing in places. Glass on table not attached either meaning the table top moves freely when any pressure is applied.

We had a lovely long weekend at Coastal View Cottage with our teenagers. The location is perfect. A short walk to the marina, bars, shops and beach. The cottage was clean, decorated and furnished to a high standard and had lots of extra amenities to make our stay even more comfortable such as board games & welcome wine and biscuits. The view from the top decking is superb and the best way to start the day with a cuppa. Lots to see and do in Brixham and surrounding area for all the family-paddleboarding, swimming, crabbing, coastal walks and some great places to eat. We will definitely be back and would highly recommend.
