Very thorough and practical firearms training. Joe is professional, knowledgeable, patient and has a heart of gold. Worth every penny, and then some. If you take self defense and firearms seriously, this training is top notch.
My CWP class i was eager to attend was originally scheduled for February 21. No problem, I picked the date and had made sure all my other duties and commitments were secure. But on February 20, the very day before I got an urgent phone call say the instructor had to leave town on an emergency.
No problem, we immediately began talking about rescheduling and I picked a date that would be good for me.
Unfortunately, I got another call soon after from the instructor saying that the new date wasn't good for the other two people attending.
A new date was suggested by the instructor that was not good for me. But I agreed to it figuring I could move things around. It would be difficult but I was trying to be helpful considering the instructors situation.
So the new date for the class became March 15.
On March 14, my daughter who was home for spring break learned she would have to leave the next day. Given that I had been so accommodating to the difficulty earlier I called asking to see if i could just reschedule, not cancel and ask for a refund.
Instead of understanding I got flack about the rules and terms. About how it wasn't in the time frame.
I understood and said I would be at the class. I admit i was not feeling any warm and fuzzies but I'm a big boy.
The next morning as I was about to leave for the class my daughter discovered an issue with her car. Given that she would be driving to Virginia i rightfully redirected my priority to her and skipped the class.
I'm done with safe family defense. Calling me on February 14 and saying the class that was suppose to take place on the 15 would have to be rescheduled due to an emergency while giving me a hassle when I asked for the same courtesy is unprofessional.
I have to say again that March 15 was not good for me but I figured I'd work around any issues. Unfortunately events got in the way.
There are other places to get my CWP and I'll be going to them.
Hi Ron, we completely overlooked the fact that you were in that rescheduled class! I am so sorry! I would not be happy either. I am happy to give you a refund, but would be even happier to have you in our April 18th class. I’ll be teaching that class and would love to meet you. I’ll even have a little gift for you. Derek was wonderful, he gave me tips and went through every gun. He has patience of a saint. I really enjoyed the training and the club is outstanding. Joe helped me so much signing up on line and I can’t say enough I really had a great time learning about all the guns I used (outstanding)

From Firearm Training. Set the lessons up for me. I have a new 9 mm Walter . The gun is beautiful and I love it. Keith taught me how to handle it and all the fundamental. Also lining up the scope to standing to how to press the trigger to the safety lock to resting between shooting to concentrate on the green dot to the target. Most of all I had fun. That was one of the best things you can learn is to enjoyed the sport. The time together and the teaching was terrific. I learned so much. I can’t wait for a second lesson. I had a new Safety class with Keith a instructor for Safe Family Defense. This is my third time I have use them and they are great. The company is very knowledgeable and helpful with training. I have learn so much from this group and Joe Shahoud.
The class I took yesterday was really informative and taught me a lot of things I didn't know. This was for me to get my Concealed Weapon Permit. Keith always impressed me that if I want more instruction I wouldn't go anywhere else. I been shooting about 2 years and I enjoy it tremendously.
This company has help me learn the safe ways to use a gun and shoot and clean the guns, they go beyond the Call of Duty. meaning very helpful.

Mr. Joe is hands down the BEST!!!! I was very nervous about taking his class! He made it very fun. Mr. Joe made sure we understood the 4 cardinal rules of gun safety, where we can and cannot carry, proper grip etc.... The money and time was very worth it! Mr. Rob was very informative and a great help also! Job well done Mr. Joe! You're making a huge impact in this world!!

Amazing instructor, very informative, I came in knowing very little on gun safety and laws and never even held a real firearm, to feeling super confident, prepared and ready to learn more and improve. Will definitely be looking to take more classes here.

Ask for Joe! Best instructor there hands down. I took the Beginners Pistol + CWP Course. Never shot a gun before but thought about getting one for home defense. I was really nervous since it was my first time at a gun range. Joe really helped me build a great knowledge base and confidence shooting with proper form and technique!

Completed the Beginner Pistol class with Keith and Cesar. Highly recommend. They are extremely knowledgeable, professional but relaxed. I came in anxious as a COMPLETE novice and left with confidence (still a beginner of course) and some necessary skills, knowledge. My total fear of guns replaced with respect. If you are thinking about signing up, do it!
