Great experience! We highly recommend a trail ride at the Rusty Spurr Ranch, which is suitable for riders of all abilities. We are in our 70s and hadn’t been on horses since we were young. From the moment we checked in, until the end of our ride, we felt totally comfortable. It’s very obvious their horses are loved and well cared for. We checked in with Connie, the owner, and she matched us with horses according to our ability. She and John (our guide for the ride) gave us basic instructions and off we went! John was fun and personable & checked with us often to see how we were doing. The scenery was amazing, from the golden aspens to snow capped peaks. We hope to return with grandchildren next summer.

Incredible experience! We were in the Denver area on a sister's trip (from Pittsburgh & Iowa) and decided to book with Rusty Spurr not knowing the amazing time we would have. The views were impeccable, the staff was wonderful and as we learned from other riders - this was unique because the guides let you roam, it is NOT a head to tail, straight line ride which was fun to adventure out. Highly recommend and would bring our families back to enjoy with us in the future!

Glorious day for a horseback ride at the Rusty Spurr My friend and I went on the 3 hour ride with John. The ranch is beautiful, John is a knowledgable guide who is enjoyable to chat with as you are riding the trail. What struck me the. most was how well cared for an loved the horses seemed. You can tell that this business is about the horses and allowing people to enjoy the beautiful scenery while riding. I would recommend riding at this ranch (and our guide John!) to anyone.

I went horseback riding at Rusty Spurr Ranch yesterday for the very first time, and it was nothing short of amazing! My boyfriend and I went with another couple, and from start to finish, the experience was incredible. The staff made us feel comfortable and at ease, which was especially important since I had never been on a horse before. The horses were gentle, well cared for, and matched perfectly to each rider. The scenery was absolutely breathtaking-wide open views, rolling hills, and such a peaceful atmosphere that made the ride feel magical. It wasn’t just a trail ride; it was a memorable adventure that felt both relaxed and exciting. If you’re looking for a unique Colorado experience, whether you’re a first-time rider or more experienced, I can’t recommend Rusty Spurr Ranch enough. This was truly an unforgettable day, and I’ll definitely be coming back!

Simply amazing! Simply amazing an absolute must. This experience was as authentic as it gets. The horses were well trained and responsive, Hans was a fantastic guide and instructor on herding cattle. From the moment you arrive, you are made to feel welcome and included. Horses welfare was paramount and this showed in their attitude to work. From the moment I arrived, I was warmly welcomed by Connie and dear Kit the dog. I was part of a small party of 3, led expertly by Jonah. Instead of being asked to ride nose to tail, we were invited to spread out, to enjoy the magnificent vistas. The aspen groves are truly magical. The horses are obviously given the best of care, and are pros at their jobs. Napoleon was great. I had such a great time. And, thank you for the help with my tire pressure issue.

RSR is a phenomenal ranch. The owners are knowledgeable, friendly & so polite. The trails were scenic, we saw wildlife from a safe distance & the horses took good care of us while confidently traversing the mountains. The cattle drive is a must do. It's FUN and the horses are exceptionally well trained!

5/5 for Rusty Spurr Ranch!! Absolutely worth the easy, beautiful drive from Breckenridge. Our 2 hour trail ride was nothing short of amazing - from the beautiful scenery to the well-taken-care-of (sweet and gentle!) horses, to the “free range” riding, all the way to the experienced guide, we loved our experience. We were even offered the chance to watch the herd be released for their days off, nothing like seeing nearly 50 horses run for fun! Couldn’t recommend this ranch more, we will be back!

11 of us went horseback riding for my bachelorette weekend and it was absolutely INCREDIBLE! The views looked like paintings and it was breathtaking. We were able to roam around freely with our horses, but our horses pretty much took the lead and walked where they wanted to. It was so easy and so perfect. Would 100% recommend.

Easiest 5 star review. Mr. Jonah was an excellent guide. He was knowledgeable and kind. The views were incredible during the entire 2 hour tour. 100% recommend for anyone wanting to explore beautiful terrain on a horse. Great balance of guidance and ability to self navigate. Awesome ride Once again had an incredible ride with the Rusty Spur. Jonah was a great guide and made everyone feel so comfortable on the ride. I can’t begin to describe what an incredible experience I had today at Rusty Spurr Ranch! I went on a cattle drive with Han as our guide. He was awesome. So knowledgeable and patient. And really taught us how to drive cattle. For me, this was definitely a once in a lifetime experience. This is the real deal. 10/10 would recommend.
