I recently did a workshop with Rodney in Venice. It was my first workshop & I thoroughly enjoyed it. He knows all the hidden gems to take photos. Days were well planned, with great variation. He's very helpful with camera settings, patient & gives such good advice on composition. Everything worked out really well on the workshop - the hotel we stayed in, restaurants we ate in & the group mixed well together. I would definitely recommend doing a workshop with Rodney & the fact that I've booked another, speaks volumes! Thanks Rodney.

The first two workshops I went to with Rodney were in Ireland and changed the way I see the world through my camera. Rodney has a talent to helping you look at familiar places with new eyes. Those first two workshops opened my door to a whole new way of thinking about photography. The experience gave me confidence to join my first overseas workshop, to the Isle of Lewis an Harris, one of the most beautiful places I have ever visited and a must for any landscape photographer. The beaches, dramatic scenery and quality of light made it a dream location. We were very lucky with the weather too, blue skies, little wind and no rain. Perfect , making the trip even more special. Next workshop with Rodney was Namibia. Africa has stolen my heart. The itinerary and accommodation that Rodney and his team organized were wonderful. Everything ran smoothly and locations unforgettable. It’s a place I would visit again and without hesitation I would travel again with ROC tours. What stands out most about Rodney’s Tours/workshops both home and abroad, is how effortless everything feels for participants. Every detail thought through and accommodation excellent. The amount of work Rodney puts into each workshop is obvious and almost superhuman. He not only drives us to incredible locations but spend the entire day supporting everyone, no matter their experience level always with patience and a smile even while managing groups of different personalities. I would highly recommend ROC photographic workshops for beginners to seasoned photographers. You will come away with new friends, better skills great memories and a new perspective of the world.

I just returned from 2 workshops with Rodney… Slovenia in winter, and Venice. I have been on many other workshops with other leaders, and still I learned a lot from this one. Rodney is an excellent teacher, and both trips were terrific. VERY good value for the money. Can’t wait to do more of his trips.

Having attended 8 or 9 workshops with Rodney, I can confidently say he is an incredible teacher and photographer. He has a rare talent for balancing group needs with individual attention; he ensures every person gets the time they need, yet he’s happy to let you work independently if you prefer to focus on your own style. The logistics are always seamless. Rodney organises the days perfectly, ensuring we capture a massive variety of images while still building in necessary downtime to recover from early sunrises or late-night shoots. The accommodation and transport have been consistently excellent and well-planned. Some of the locations he discovers are so spectacular that I’ve already gone back twice! Cant but recommend a photography week or few days with Rodney.

I recently went in a trip with Rodney and I had such a good time. Great tuition, very easy going, it felt like a holiday but was also packed with great locations. I absolutely adore my photographs from the trip. Rodney himself is a total gentleman and great company. I've been on two of Rodney’s trips over the past two years and I've already signed up for a third. With my photography knowledge primarily in food photography I wanted to challenge myself in new areas particularly landscape and street photography. Rodney's extensive knowledge of each location we visit is impressive ..he takes us to hidden gems that other photographers might overlook ensuring we have the best vantage points at precisely the right moments. He creates a relaxed environment making you feel valued regardless of your skill level. While my photography isn't perfect, I've noticed big improvements over these past two years. I've also made lifelong friends who share the same passion, and there's never any pressure to put your camera down! Plus, we have great downtime to unwind and enjoy each other’s company. I highly recommend these trips!

I am just back from a 5 day workshop in Slovenia with Rodney which I thoroughly enjoyed. This is my 2nd trip abroad with him and I have also attended 3 workshops in Ireland. Rodney is an excellent photographer, a great manager and organiser. Rodney is quick to offer assistance in a friendly manner. He knows all the best sites to visit in order to capture great photos. The group size was small and we got on well together and had good fun. Each day there were adequate rest periods. One thing is for certain and that is your photography will improve and you will come home with great images. Since coming home I have booked another trip with Rodney to Valencia in 2026, I would highly recommend Rodney’s Workshops

Each journey has been a masterclass not only in photography, but in how to truly experience a place. Rodney is, quite simply, exceptional. A superb host, an inspiring teacher, and an endlessly patient guide, he has an extraordinary gift for bringing each landscape to life. His knowledge runs deep — of light, composition, and camera craft — yet he shares it with such warmth and generosity that learning feels effortless. Beyond his photographic brilliance, Rodney has an uncanny ability to uncover the soul of every destination — whether it’s the perfect viewpoint bathed in golden hour light, or a tucked-away restaurant serving the most memorable meal of the trip. His organisation is impeccable, his good humour infectious, and his calm presence a constant pleasure. I can honestly say I have never travelled with anyone more dedicated, capable, or kind. I’ve just come back from one of Rodney’s photo workshops, this time in Brittany. It was my fifth with him – and I’ve already got a couple more booked! Every time I return buzzing with enthusiasm, full of new ideas and knowledge and SD cards packed with images. I honestly wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Rodney’s workshops to any photographer, whatever your level. You’ll always come away with fresh insights, practical tips and the chance to shoot in some brilliant locations that he carefully selects. Very happy to recommend Rodney's workshops having spent a fantastic week back in March 25 on the breath taking Isle of Lewis and Harris. From start to finish all travel and accommodation arrangements were taken care of by Rodney ensuring a very relaxed experience for all participants. We had a very comfortable overnight stay at the Benn Nevis Hotel en-route. The Harris Hotel in Tarbert was cosy and very welcoming, with smart, comfortable en-suite bedrooms, excellent food and friendly helpful staff. Rodney is a very accomplished photographer, taking us to some great locations and his patient instruction throughout was greatly appreciated. Unfortunately we encountered a couple of days when the weather was pretty awful. However on those occasions Rodney provided invaluable hotel based editing sessions. All in all I thoroughly enjoyed my week and hope to join Rodney again in the near future.

Julia Deady I loved every minute of this trip. Rodney left no stone unturned, we were not blessed with good weather on this trip but we utilised the bad days with photo editing tips, photography tips, and a trip to Stornoway. The locations we visited were simply stunning with a wide variety of landscapes. Rodney is knowledgeable, friendly, and truly enhanced the experience. Everything was flawlessly organised, making the trip seamless and stress-free. An unforgettable adventure filled with stunning views, great company, and expert guidance. Every component was excellent and I wish I could do it all over again! Highly recommend.
