Arrr, I set foot upon that frozen deck they call an ice rink, expectin’ crisp air like the high seas at dawn—but instead, me nose was ambushed by a stench foul enough to wake the dead! By the briny beard of Neptune, the place reeked of fish long past their glory, as if a whole cargo hold of rotten cod had mutinied and perished beneath the ice.
The rink itself be slick enough, aye, but what good be smooth sailing when the very wind betrays ye? Each breath was a battle, matey, and I found meself wonderin’ if I’d wandered into a cursed fish market instead of a place for skatin’.
The crew (or staff, as landlubbers say) seemed fair enough, but no amount of friendly chatter can mask the scent of doom that lingers in that icy cavern. I’d wager even the hardiest sailor would think twice before dockin’ here again.
Two hooks out o’ five from this salty dog. Fix the smell, or ye may find yerselves sailin’ an empty ship!
Disappointed with the lessons and service here.
Signed our daughter up for a 5 week course with high hopes based on other reviews.
The first 2 weeks the instructors (clearly high school girls), spent more time chatting and giggling with each other than instructing the kids.
The 3rd and 4th week the instructors changed and things improved.
However, on the 5th week we had a tornado watch, it was hailing tennis ball size hail, and roads were flooding. I called as this was happening and was told they were holding class anyway and refused to reschedule or offer make ups. I told the "manager" that this was insane and asked how exactly I was expected to get there safely. He said "well I'm expected to be here" ITS YOUR JOB OF COURSE YOU ARE. He then said it was the owners policy not his and I could take it up with them. So this is me taking it up with the owner.
I taught dog training classes full time for 5 years. When there were tornado warnings and hail the size of my fist we pushed classes out a week or offered make ups for everyone's safety.
It's clear that Rocket is not invested in the safety or success of their customers and students. I paid for 5 weeks of instruction and received 2. We will not be back and will make sure to turn everyone away from these money grubbers as possible. This is the owners chance to change my opinion.
I'm no connoisseur of ice skating rinks but this place was great for me and my two young daughters. We're all beginner skaters and we've attended the public skate twice in the past month. Everyone was kind and courteous; check-in and skate rental were efficient. It seems like they do a good job of catering to all levels of skaters. Definitely recommend coming here.
My favorite thing about Rocket is the number of ice slots for stick and puck. My son is a mite and the amount of times we’re able to get on the ice together is so valuable for building his love of the game and spending quality time together. The staff at Rocket are super helpful, and I love the access to equipment for us to set up drills as well. Stick and Puck at Rocket has become a beloved part of our routine we like to fit in as often as possible.
