I would not recommend Rhett Burney for a divorce attorney. He is nice but I was going through a domestic violence situation when he worked on my divorce. Attorneys need to research and ask uncomfortable questions to find out what is going on. I didn’t have a voice in the divorce because my ex husband controlled everything. Shouldn’t your attorney ask pertinent questions. I’m still suffering from the outcome.

I went to Rhett At my lowest time in May 2020 for a divorce. Then my Mother was kidnapped and killed by a serial killer. Rhett handled my Mother probate. Rhett was wonderful at everything. This is not his fault that Hilary didn’t tell him. Then I went to Hilary in September of 2025 for legal help. She lied to me and kept telling me she’s waiting on Rhett to tell her what to do. I went by the new office to see Rhett or Hilary. After Hilary meeting was over she sent a message to the lady upfront to tell me to leave. Then Hilary sent me a message that she has never spoken to Rhett. This was just a couple of months ago in 2026. I would have lost everything I own because Hilary took it upon herself to tell me she couldn’t help after 6 months of me asking her for help. If she was doing her job correctly she would have told me last September 2025. I’m extremely disappointed in her as a person. I got lawyer that they recommended phone number and that lawyer recommended another lawyer that was awesome to get everything done for me. Robert Phol helped me file bankruptcy and do away with the 450,000.00 that my ex husband left me with. I’ve been asking Rhett about filing bankruptcy since my first visit to him in May 2020. No one ever told me he didn’t do that until 6 months of me asking and hounding. She blamed Rhett’s health problems to why she never told him. She knew they where garnishing 1,100.00 out of my pay check every month. She knew my ex husband died in January 2026 and I lost 1,000.00 alimony every month. She knew and didn’t care. This is the lady that helped me buy snickdoodle Christmas. That brought me food for Thanksgiving and Christmas. I thought we where friends. Guess I was wrong.
Unethical
This law firm is by far the most unethical law firm I have ever ever reviewed. On top of that Most, if not all of the good reviews are from either paralegals in his office or their friends.
