The website I booked it on said transfers were included but Reykjavik sailors said they weren't so we had to pay extra (£90!!!!!) for transfers from the hotel to the harbour (3.4km drive). I had may conversations back and forwards as the tour is split into whale watching in the morning and then northern lights at night, so we requested pick up in the morning with a view to explore the city centre in between tours, and then a drop off after the northern lights. The guides were amazing and had plenty of knowledge. We were lucky to view 3 humpback whales and 2 dolphins which was amazing. We didn't get to see the northern lights but we didn't go out of the harbour so there was still a lot of light pollution. They do a revisit promise, but our have to pay for transfers again! Which at £90 makes things very expensive. I would recommend the whale watching tour but I would book a coach tour (which I have done previously) for northern lights as they take you completely away from all light pollution and when you rebook after unsuccessful viewings they pick you up from your hotel.

Avistamento No primeiro dia estava nevando, o tempo estava muito ruim (deveria ter sido cancelado o avistamento). Ninguém viu nada neste dia, porém, a equipe instruiu as pessoas, que teriam direito a uma segunda vez. No outro dia voltei, o dia estava lindíssimo, e vimos as baleias. O que eu achei ruim foi que o avistamento foi bem de longe, achei que chegaríamos perto. Mas a empresa cumpriu com os combinados.

November Humpback whale watching! The guide was super friendly and well informed on the sea life. The boat was large , safe and there was plenty of room to move around on. The free sea sickness tablets (not needed) were a nice touch! We were lucky enough to spot two humpback whales and porpoises on our trip, which made it very enjoyable!

Brilliant - larger boat and great team onboard A beautiful sunny but chilly day. This was a birthday trip of a lifetime. The staff were great and information provided excellent. Boat is spacious, warm and clean. Lots of choices to book tours from the harbour but we were pleased we chose this company. Excellent communication from booking to sailing.

Well organized whale watching tour The whale watching tour was well organized, and the kiosk on board offered reasonably priced refreshments. We were lucky to see several humpback whales and even a minke whale, which was an incredible experience. The cruise stayed mostly within the Reykjavík harbour area, which offered nice views, though I had expected we would venture a bit further into the open sea during the four-hour tour. Overall, it was an enjoyable and memorable outing.

Excellent trip. This was a fantastic trip. Although it was a very popular excursion the boat was big enough that it did not feel crowded. The staff were knowledgeable and worked hard to find whales for us to see, however they more importantly, did not get too close to the whales to disturb them particularly when they were feeding.

Nice boat, unfortunately no animals seen due to weather conditions On October 7th we went on the water with this tour. It was a nice boat with lots of seating and finely decorated. The staff was friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, we did not see a single animal this day. The morning we arrived we heard that the sea conditions were tough and there was a chance to get seasick. They responded well to this, because there were seasick pills present. Despite this message, still decided to go, since our holiday was almost over. The nice thing is that you can go back on board for free, if you see no animals like us. Unfortunately we were not able to use it, because we had booked this trip on our last day.

At Sea with the Whales. A whale of a good tour. Wonderful tour, with exceptionl information given on the local whales that we might see on the trip, as well as information on the way the whales feed, and the various ways that the guide could tell if they we going to dive deep or not. The tracking of the whales was interesting to watch, and they got you close to the beautiful creatures. They showed their respect towards the whales and did a great job at encouraging the conservation of these wonders. You did not have to worry about taking pictures of the whales, because the crew, which had wonder cameras, provided a free site on which you could download the photos from your tour. Parkas and wet weather gear was provided and needed to stay comfortable. Nice clean ship, and a good selction of cocoa and coffee and snacks were on board for you to purchase if you wanted. Very good tour.

Amazing boat trip We went on the smaller of the two boats and it was an excellent excursion. We got the see the lights for about a half hour window and it was incredible. We weren’t very optimistic due to the weather during the day but I can’t fault it at all. Delayed one day due to weather but it was easy to reschedule and kept upto date by their website. Would highly recommend

Brilliant tour with a great team who know their job. Amazing 3 hours watching the Whale's. The team followed the Whales which we saw at least every 10 minutes or so. Running commentary through the whole trip about the surrounding area and sea life. Well done team. We loved it. Weather was so beautiful.

Awesome experience with Icelandic Humpback Whales! Boarded Andrea early in the am for a 0900 3.5-hour tour of whale watching. Boat had bathrooms and a small café onboard with indoor and outdoor comfortable seating with tables. They also offer warm overalls for all passengers that many people wore to stay outside for the views (I chose to sit inside). Immediately headed out into deeper waters (feeding areas) and our captain was on the lookout for whales. Large boat that seats 250, we had about 80 on board. He gave us plenty of time to get to the outside or topside to see the whales when spotted. Went to 3-4 spots and finally got great shots of 2 humpback whales who dove and returned a couple of times. As you are waiting to get off the boat, look for the pamphlet stuck to the wall that has a QR code you can scan to get the photos the boat crew took of the whales on the day you sail! They came out better than my pics did! Highly recommend, well worth the money and time. Crew was great too! 5 stars.

Glad i did it The boat and staff are great. Very friendly, offers you something warmer to wear if needed which I wish I had. There are plenty of places to sit and they offer free travel sickness pills which I would thoroughly recommend taking before it starts as the water gets really choppy. There's even a small shop/cafe with food and drink options. We did see some whales and I got to see the tail end of a Humpback which was pretty cool. I only give it 4 out of 5 stars because sometimes it's hard to see with everyone in the same spot. Would definitely recommend if you like the sea and it does have a great view of Reykjavík coast line. Definitely something to do.

We did see whales! We went out on a 1pm trip. Quickly encountered a Minke whale and 2 Humpback whales. After several sightings went further out and encountered at least 2 more Humpback whales which put on quite a show for us.The ocean was quite choppy and I was glad that I had taken advantage of the offered sea sickness tablet before setting out.Cold and rainy....I had sufficient clothing, but the cruise offered warm coveralls for those not prepared.Special tours was very accommodating and changed our Northern lights cruise more than once due to poor conditions.I would not hesitate to recommend this tour company.

Whale Watching Experience – Reykjavík Waters Booked this trip through Viator and reached about 10 minutes before the scheduled departure. Although the host recommends arriving 30 minutes early, that’s not really necessary — arriving a bit before the time is perfectly fine. The onward journey takes around 1 hour 45 minutes, and the return about 1 hour 15 minutes. Our guide, Joe, made the experience lively with his witty and informative commentary, sharing fascinating insights about whales and Icelandic marine life. His humor really added charm to the trip! Spotting whales in their natural habitat was truly a special moment. However, the return journey can feel a little monotonous, especially after the excitement of whale sightings. Still, the views of the open ocean and Reykjavík’s coastline make it worthwhile. Overall, a well-organized and memorable experience for nature and wildlife enthusiasts visiting Reykjavík.
