Absolutely fantastic location, accommodation was beautifully presented, Grant and Maree were so hospitable, will definitely recommend snd be back again, great local pub for a good variety of meals less than 10 minutes away.

Our favorite place we stayed in New Zealand right here. We came to do the Tongariro alpine crossing hike and extended our stay after the first night because this place was just perfect. The setting is gorgeous. We loved watching sunrise over the lake on our personal balcony with so many different bird species singing and flying around. The hosts Grant and Maree are funds of knowledge about the area and double checked with us about every detail of our upcoming hike as well as our route to Auckland Airport afterwards. It was the perfect place for us to end our trip and so memorable

This is such a beautiful spot to stay. I’ve stayed here a number of times to break up the trip when travelling the north island. The moment I walk into one of the apartments I feel a complete sense of serenity - beautiful views, lovely birds flying around, and the apartments have everything you need.

Pukawa Villas is the only place you'd want to stay. Comfortable, well appointed, central to so many attractions and activities. Meals on your own private deck with the amazing bird life and spectacular lake views. It just doesn't get better. Tennis courts, heated swimming pool and beautiful bush walks. Try the walk to Kuratau to enjoy a wood fired pizza at the Floating Rock. Or hire bikes at the Trout Centre and explore the Tongariro River. The kids can catch a trout and have it smoked. Great memories. Perfect holiday.

Amazing stay! Pukawa Villas is beautiful, super clean, and incredibly relaxing. The views are unreal, the beds are so comfy, and the whole place just feels high-quality and peaceful. Perfect location and amazing vibe. 100% recommend.

Pukawa Villas is nothing short of spectacular. From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by the breathtaking, uninterrupted views of Lake Taupō—honestly some of the most stunning scenery we’ve ever experienced. Watching the lake change colours throughout the day, and the sunsets in the evening, was pure magic. The villa itself was beautifully presented: spotless, spacious, and thoughtfully designed to make the most of the incredible surroundings. Every detail felt considered, and it was the perfect balance of luxury and comfort. Waking up to that view each morning was unforgettable. The location is peaceful and private, making it the ideal place to relax, unwind, and truly switch off, yet still close enough to explore everything the Taupō region has to offer. Pukawa Villas exceeded all expectations and felt like a true hidden gem. We left already planning our return. If you’re looking for an exceptional stay with world-class views of Lake Taupō, Pukawa Villas is an absolute must!!!

Pukawa villas never fail to impress me. Service is amazing and amenities are great. I love the heated pool and tennis court. This place is great for any type of holiday. There is close access to lake Taupo and beautiful views at sunset. There is a beautiful scenic bush walk only a short walk up the road and a lovely beach down the road called Pukawa bay. If you are looking for accomodation by lake Taupo. I would highly recommend Pukawa villas!
