Went here for Lightscape. $25 for parking and $36 per adult is a lot of money for a dozen feature displays. The worst part was a security guard yelled at us for smoking, we were both ducking on candy canes ! The young man insisted we were smoking cigarettes. We walked up to him and showed him it was candy and he rudely replied he saw us smoking. He never apologized. This kid is gonna make a great mall cop someday. I'll never set foot in that place again just base on the people they hire. A guy with a sewn on badge and a bad attitude cost the Bontanic Gardens 4 memberships.
Chicago Botanic Garden—whoever handles the cleaning and maintenance there deserves a BONUS! They keep the entire facility, especially the bathrooms, incredibly clean. I’m amazed at how they manage that with so many visitors. And the way they continuously rotate and care for all the trees and flowers is truly impressive and appreciated.
