I went to Doctor basic after moving out of our house that had black mold and also suffering for years with Lyme and similar co-infection symptoms.
I was struggling with lesions and painful bumps all over my body the worst being in my head that I had to shave I had a giant kerion on the back of my head The size of a golf ball
Dr bacik did what most dermatologist do and immediately brand new with delusional parasitosis and say that you were doing this to yourself? Immediately trying to push a biologic on a person with a weakened immune system without doing any testing whatsoever. She was not open to hearing any of my symptoms and didnât do any kind of test said that she didnât believe it was contagious and that what I was doing was working to follow up with her in a month time
Because when you go to a specialist and pay $100 youâre expecting a little more than 15 minutes, which can barely scratch the surface of history and issues and didnât even get a single skin sample or anything?????
This is just bad medicine, bad practice. if youâre a doctor, you just throw out the scientific method which is hypothesis then actually test out your theory?
The real kicker was whenever she cut me off and told me that the first appointment is only 15 minutes long and thatâs not enough time to get into anything and if I want to talk about hair loss, thatâs a whole other appointment in itself
These people are a scam who are only going to be nice to you if youâre coming in there to get their fillers or want to just take their bullshit diagnosis that they didnât do any work to even come to that conclusion
So I paid $100 for 15 minutes to keep suffering. It was literally the biggest waste of my time I left the office bawling.
The front office staff seemed to be irritated that they had to even check me in and was snippy the whole time. The only nice thing I can say about this office was the waiting room.

I was referred to Dr Velez for Mohs surgery on my ear lobe to have skin cancer removed. She did an amazing job. You canât even tell anything was done even after she had to do some reconstructive surgery. She even re-pierced my ear for me 6 weeks later. I highly recommend!! So professional and so nice!

Kristin Smith, PA-C is fantastic at her job. She makes you feel safe and knows how to help you with any skin issues you may have. Everyone should get yearly skin scans to help prevent skin cancer. Most insurance cover this. It is like a physical but for your skin. She checks your whole body. She makes you feel comfortable and not scared if you have anything you are unsure about. I definitely recommend her for any dermatology needs.

I normally do not write reviews like this, but Kristin Smith at Pittsburgh Skin deserves one. This review is 100% genuine. I spent months on self-care and psychoanalyzing my entire life.. so this review means a lot to me.
I went in for a skin growth removal in a very private/sensitive area. To be blunt, it was on my penis. Iâm saying that openly because a lot of men avoid getting things checked or removed because theyâre embarrassed, anxious, or worried the appointment is going to be awkward. I was absolutely anxious going into it, and Kristin handled the entire situation better than I could have asked for.
From the moment she came in, she was calm, professional, kind, and completely normal about everything. She did not make the situation feel awkward, embarrassing, or cold. She examined the area, explained what needed to be done, removed the growth, cauterized it, and made sure I understood the aftercare. She said Aquaphor enough times that there was no chance I was going to forget it when I left, which I honestly appreciated because when youâre anxious, your brain does not retain every detail.
What stood out most was how much dignity and awareness she showed. When you are having a procedure done in that kind of area, the providerâs attitude makes all the difference. Kristin made it feel safe and handled. She noticed I was nervous, stayed steady, and treated me like a human being instead of making me feel exposed or embarrassed. When another nurse came in to assist, Kristin made sure I was covered properly and only the area being worked on was exposed. That might sound like a small thing, but in that moment it mattered a lot.
The actual procedure was quick and smooth. The main spot was removed so well that I didnât even realize she had done it. I thought it was a trick when she said she was done. đ
She also noticed a tiny extra spot nearby and took care of that too without making it into a separate ordeal. That kind of practical, patient-focused care is rare.
The nurse who assisted was also respectful and professional. The whole visit stayed calm, normal, and respectful from start to finish.
This was honestly one of the best medical visits Iâve had in Cranberry. Not because the situation was easy or fun, but because Kristin made a stressful, vulnerable appointment feel manageable and safe. She has the kind of bedside manner that makes you trust the person working on you.
If youâre a man dealing with a skin issue in a private area and youâre putting it off because youâre embarrassed, do not wait. Book the appointment. Ask for Kristin Smith. She is professional, skilled, calm, respectful, and genuinely kind without making it feel fake or forced.
Pittsburgh Skin should be proud to have her. I would go back to her without hesitation. I mean this from the bottom of my heart.... Iâm honestly sorry I waited this long to book the appointment.
