Incredible experience with gorgeous views.
Such a great experience, especially for my sons (ages 24 and 22). The trail was a lot of fun and the beaches were incredible. We've never seen views that beautiful.
Not private course and dangerous
I am experienced in driving ATV’s but there is no private course for this particular company which is dangerous for non experienced drivers. The description stated private course but it is in fact on public streets and neighborhoods. There are a lot of curves where cars, motorcycles and other motorized vehicles would come at you. Many drivers were cautious at curves but more were quite careless. We were in a group of 7 and the guide often lost sight of the 3-4 people at the end of the line. At one point cows were in the road but the guide kept going not realizing the last couple in the group did not see everyone turn and they went straight so the guide had to go get them. On the way back to the start point we were going through a winding dirt road (most all the roads were dirt with loose gravel) and a car came around the curve so fast it ran most of the group within inches of a ditch and myself completely off the road causing the ATV to fall on me. My friend had to get the guide bc he was so far ahead he saw nothing. After my friends got the ATV off of me the guide showed up asking if we wanted to ride back or he could call for a truck to get me. At this point i was in so much pain i could not move my neck or back. Luckily police happen to drive by and helped us get medical attention. The guide first told the police all was fine but we understand and speak enough Spanish to tell the police I was not fine and needed medical assistance. We called our friend who stayed at the hotel to speak with police bc he is fluent and a dr so he could explain what happened. They called an ambulance but while waiting the police told us the ATV’s would not likely pass inspection. When the ambulance came there was a dr with them and he recommended a CT due to my symptoms. The owner said insurance would cover the community hospital and there is no imaging there. We chose the hour plus ambulance ride to the private hospital which we paid all out of pocket. We do have the travelers insurance so should be reimbursed later but that ruined a good part of my trip as I was in extreme pain the rest of the time. My advice is to speak to the operator to know if their vehicles are inspected and up to code (get proof) and make sure whatever the course is (public or private) you are prepared for it. The drivers in Costa Rica don’t follow rules of the road. The friends behind me who saw the whole accident said the car kept coming at me even after seeing the other ATV’s get so close to the ditch. The car was within a couple feet of hitting me when I ran into the ditch and up the hill next to it.

The actions of another driver on a public road are unfortunately something that neither our company nor our guide can fully control. We are very sorry that this reckless driving resulted in your ATV leaving the road and causing you to be injured.We would also like to clarify what happened regarding the medical assistance. Our guide immediately contacted our office after becoming aware of the incident, and we took steps to arrange transportation to a nearby private medical facility. Unfortunately, the situation was complicated by the involvement of the police ( also The police arrived by chance—that is, they were driving toward the beach and happened upon the incident) and their decision to wait for an ambulance rather than allow you to be transported immediately by our vehicle.It is also important to clarify that we were the ones who contacted a private ambulance, because we were informed that a public ambulance could take considerably longer to arrive. We understand that you needed medical attention as quickly as possible, and our intention throughout the situation was to help you receive that care.There was also a misunderstanding regarding the condition and documentation of our ATV. When the Traffic Police later inspected the vehicle, its required documentation was confirmed to be up to date. We take the safety and legal compliance of our vehicles very seriously, and our vehicles and insurance are maintained according to the applicable requirements.We also want to make clear that we do not dismiss your concerns regarding safety. We continuously remind our guides to maintain control of the group and to prioritize the safety of every participant. Your comments regarding group spacing and visibility are therefore being taken seriously and will be reviewed with our team.At the same time, it is important to distinguish between the risks associated with riding an ATV on public roads and an accident caused by the unexpected and unsafe actions of another road user. Our tours take place in areas where other vehicles, motorcycles, pedestrians, animals, and changing road conditions may be present. This is why we always provide safety instructions before the tour and require participants to follow the guide's instructions.We are genuinely sorry that this incident affected your vacation and that you experienced significant pain afterward. Our guide was fabulous. The experiance was great. We had a small accident and the staff handled it well (even though the people we traveled with did not) highly reccomend
My family of six loved the experience of learning to surf today. All of us were able to get up on the board. It was super convenient that they picked us up and brought us back to our condominium. Viola and Pablo gave us great feedback and we enjoyed the experience.
Carlos was THE BEST tour guide. We did the waterfall hike and hot springs excursion with him. He was so knowledgeable about the country and a lot of fun. He took excellent care of us and showed us some very cool parts of Costa Rica. Highlight of our trip - highly recommend!
We did the Miravalles Volcano Tour and Waterfall Visit with Carlos and it was AMAZING! Carlos was an incredible tour guide! He not only showed us the beautiful views of the waterfall and volcano, but he also taught us so much about Costa Rican history and showed up a delicious local stop for coffee and pastry. We had an amazing experience from start to finish! The staff was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and made everyone feel safe while still keeping the adventure exciting. The four-wheeler ride was a blast with beautiful scenery, and the zip lines were an unforgettable thrill!
The guides ( Christian and Carlos) were knowledgeable, fun, and genuinely seemed to love what they do, which made the whole experience even better. Everything was well organized, and we never felt rushed.
This was absolutely worth every penny and ended up being one of the highlights of our trip. If you’re looking for an exciting adventure with fantastic people, this is the place to go. We would definitely do it again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area!
Exactly what we were hoping for!
The route was varied and interesting. Saw all kinds of wildlife (including howler monkeys!) during the tour. Instruction was clear. Loved the experience and would absolutely use them again.

We had a great time on this adventure! Chris was excellent. He accommodated our group with ease. The tour was really fun. We visited 2 beaches and saw some cool animals like howler monkeys, lizards and pigs. I highly recommend Chris and this activity!!

Amazing experience traveling through the local Costa Rican camino. Christian picked us up at our casa and was cheerful, informative, and provided great security for my family. ATV across Tamarindo!
Great tour even with some issues on our end the Pininios team was able to accomodate for us quickly and efficiently. Great time ATVing and its a good and long experience for you to see different parts of Tamarindo. *** What might make the tour even better is telling us about the locations we are at. Give me the significance of this beach or some history about it. Tell us about the native trees/wildlife etc as we see the sights and sounds of Tamarindo. That is all. Otherwise great guides, machines and experience.

The experience was wonderful! Christian was fantastic. Was very knowledgeable and patient with us as well. Couldn’t ask for a better guide for us in the tour. Carlos was a fantastic guide! He spotted monkeys,and other wild life so quick to share with us, he was very informative and polite though out the whole tour! The ATV tour was the best and perfect amount of time, we rode though little towns the rainforest, beaches, and stopped for a cocktail midway through. we definitely will use pininos adventures for other excursions! Highly recommended!
